Month: February 2002

  • Tommy made his first art project.  A Valentine for mommy.  He made this at Families 1st last night at church.  Sure made me smile.     Word of warning...it is pretty hard to do a hand print of a infant that still clenches his fists alot.  LOL!!  Let's just say there was paint all over!  But what a cute little hand print!

  • Argh....why do I hit spell check ever?? My post was eaten!!  ARGH!! I am unhappy.  I refuse to type it again........ Here is the cliff notes of the day.

Got up went to work - work fine

Came home babysat Nick and Kristi........

    Ate supper

    Gave Tommy A bath..........

    He is in bed........

Josh isn't feeling well...the bug is back in the house

I am going to bed now...............

Trust me the other one was better!  I am just being pissy!  I included a couple of cool tips I learned....but you have to wait till maybe tomorrow!  I am pouting in my room!

  • Evening..............no time to go visiting all my favorite logs tonight.  ARGH!  I hate when I have nights like that.   Hubby was on the coputer like all night!  Then when he finally let me log on Tommy started crying and crying and only wanted Mommy!

I did accoplish a few things I needed to online.   Did my online banking for the week and ordered a number of books for Joshua.  He has found a series of book he is really enjoying.  This hasn't happened since Harry Potter came out.   The series is called Net Force and it is based on the adult books by Tom CLancy of the same name.   So if you have a teen son, this seems to be a hit.  Between ordering at Bookcloseouts.com and half.com I was able to order through book # 8.   Should keep him busy for a bit, he read the last one in 3 days.

Check out the series - Net Force - Tom Clancy

Oh yeah....I usually buy books for my kids for holidays!  So with Valentine's Day coming up, obviously Josh is getting a couple of the Net Force Books.

Erik - Junie B. Jones and the Mushy Valentime

Tommy - I Love you When.......

Mom's - Of course I can't go to a bookstore without buying something for myself!!!  *smirk......but sort of for Tommy too!

Baby Play (Gymboree)  - there are alot of fun play ideas for us.  They also have a toddler play one as well.  Their is going to be a Gymboree center built in the cities here soon I read in the MN Parent paper.  But their classes are pretty expensive.

The only other excitement today was Josh and I went to the Dentist.  We both had good checkups...YEAH!!  Well off to bed I am!!  Later!

  • Just a quick post and I am off to bed.  Tonight after supper I was doing the dishes and I started feeling ill.    So I am going to head to bed and hopefully wake up feeking great.  I have an early morning meeting, so need to get to work!

KimmiesMommie, my family thanks you for the great recipe for soup.  Everyone loved it!  Erik looked at the bread and said...what is that....I said try it.   He did reluctantly and loved it!   Those are both recipes that will go in the keeper file!    I must admit I love looking at work weekly menu's on your site.  It actually inspires me to think beyond today, and have a plan.   You cook some fabulous meals!!  I am still wading my way through your RECIPE BOX, I plan on trying a number of recipes.

Today was a pretty lazy day, up for church.  Tommy was a bit cranky in church.   Josh left for a b-day party after church.  I came home and made some breakfast for us all.  Had Erik clean up his room and the mess he made in the van.   Then we worked on homework with Erik for about an hour or so.   We worked on cursive writing, spelling words, and telling time.  I don't think he is ever going to figure out time.  ARGH....They don't work on it at school much anymore since the other kids by how 1/2 through 3rd grade have mastered it.  So it seems to be up to us to teach him.   He is never able to keep up with the kids in school, sad but true.

He really didn't want to do time today.  So I lined up 10 little conversation hearts and M&M;s on the table.  I said if you get the first one right, you get to eat the candy, if not I do!   That was VERY motivating and he concentrated more than he usualy does since he didn't want me to eat the candy!  I only got to eat two pieces.

Well I have the chills and a headache, so I think I am heading to bed and cranking my electric blanket while I read my "super Baby Food book".   I hope to actually finish reading the book by the time Tommy is ready to start eating solids next month or so!

Night all.....hope you ahd a wonderful weekend!

  • Hello....I hope everyones weekend is going well.  We have been pretty busy as always.  Friday night I worked a bit late, then I came home and we had roast from the crock pot for supper.  I had tried a new recipe for the roast, but I didn't care for it so I won't be sharing it......................

The rest of the evening I babysat Kristi (my neice) and hanged with Tommy.   Both Tommy and Kristi had baths and went to bed on time    Tommy slept until almost 10 o-clock this morning.  That was great since that meant I got to sleep until my alarm went off at 9:00am.  That was so nice.....actually I woke up 10 minutes before the alarm went off.   What is up with that???   It doens't matter what time I set the alarm for I will wake up right before it many times.  ARGH!!!

I was going to head out shopping for groceries early this morning, but hubby wanted to go with to go to Sam's and Cub Foods.    So I waited for him to get back from taking Erik to Karate lessons then we headed to Sam's Club.  ARGH!!!  NEVER, I repeat never go to Sam's on Saturday afternoon.  The lines were long!!   We got the things we needed there, nothing amazing usually stuff........staples, you know THE HUGE Bag of Doritos, Fruit Snacks, Juice Boxes...LOL!! Oh yeah and milk and cheese etc....LOL!

Then we were off to Cub Foods ......Stocked up on some sale items and bought all the stuff so I could try out the recipe for Cauliflower Cheese Soup and Biscuits from KImmiesMommie's Site.  They sound so good!!!

Tongiht for supper we had Chicken Cordon Bleu Calzones.  I made a triple batch so I will see how these freeze.   I think I will bake them again to reheat them.....not sure.

Dale and Julie came over this evening.  We played Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.  And of course I WON!!!  *smirk   We made brownies with the kids and had make your own Hot Fudge Brownie Delights.  The kids had plenty of Chocolate!

Well Tommy is fussing in his room, I guess I will get him up and feed him a bit more...he is a bit off schedule since we had some many people over.   Then we are off to bed as we have church in the morning.......................

  • Almost the weekend............YEAH!!!   Was a short work week since Tommy was sick on Monday and Tuesday, but I am sure wiped out.   ARGH!!  Tonight I had a meeting in Anoka, MN.  Of course I had to drive home in the snow.  We live in MN you would think people would not drive like idiots everytime we get a bit of snow, but they always seem to.   Then when you drive a few miles down the freeway you see that idiot in the ditch.   Sorry, I know it is bad of me, but I can't help but smirk!   I of course had chance to witness one such idiot tonight on the icy road home.

Have any of you tried the Five Brother's Creamy Alfredo sauce??  I am usually not much for purchased sauces, but this was pretty good.   Paul and Josh liked it, and since I was getting home from work late, it was quick.  Just cook some linguine and heat the sauce.   I also baked some bread sticks............that was supper.    I would take leftovers to work tomorrow, but Paul is coming down to the office to go out for lunch with me.

What a treat!  We haven't gone out for lunch in ages!  We always go to this little chinese restaurant, "Lucky China".  The owners are very nice.  We used to go there so regularly that when we walked in they knew what we would want to  eat and drink.   LOL!!!   ALways great service.  They gave me a business card to call them when we were coming so they would put Cashew Chicken on the buffet.   They have the best Cashew Chicken in the TWIN CITIES!!!  Great service and food!  I better stop talking about that, I am making myself hungry!

Tommy was a bit crabby tonight.  He wanted ME to hold him all night, not the Daddy.   I needed to reconcile the checkbook and pay bills, so I did that most of the night with him on my lap.   Ok, been a LONG time since I have had a little one.....Could he be teething????  He is very crabby and biting on EVERYTHING!!  He isn't even 4 months yet, seems way too young.  I don't seem to feel anything, but he really wants to bite on the right side all the time.

Tomorrow, Erik comes for weekend visitation.  I am also babysitting my neice, Kristi since her parents and sibs are going to Veggie Tales Live.   That should be interesting.  My nephew, Nick has been obbsessed with Veggie Tales for a while.  They have back stage passes before the show to go meet the characters.   Nick will have a ton of questions...and I bet he will be flapping his arms and spinning as this will be too much excitment for him.    That is the only time you can really tell he is autistic, when he gets overstimulated or if you talk to him for a bit...LOL!!   I am sure there will be great stories to be told about his experience....I will let ya know.

Well I think I should head to bed.  Tomorrow I am in the office all day doing paperwork.  WHEW!  And I have a lunch date   So I don't need to pack a lunch, my dishes are washed, the living room is presentable.....Tommy is in my bed waiting for me....stinker!!   Paul ends up putting Tommy to bed later lately, not sure if he is just still a bit under the weather or what, but definitely attached to me today.

I always worried that Tommy would not be attached to me since I was the one going to work everyday.  I do make a point of staying home in the morning to get him up and dressed.  He put on his songs and sing and get dressed.  I love that time.   Then in the evening, we do stories, bath and rock for a bit while we listen to Nicollette Larsen CD.   I sure do cherish those moments with him.   I wonder if Dad's going to work everyday feel as bad as I do as they leave every morning....or maybe it is jsut a hormone thing......

OH YEAH...did any of you watch ER tonight??  ARGH...Mark Green's baby daughter accidently took some escatasy pills that Rachel (his older daughter) had in her backpack.   Scary!  I can't imagine the torn feeling one would have when one of your children does something that could possibly kill your other child.   Elizabeth (baby's mother) was obviously very upset with her stepdaughter Rachel.   I don't know if I could handle it if Erik did something to hurt Tommy......how do you get over that??   COuld you??????  Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Night all!!!!!!!!!!  Do something fun with your kidlets this weekend!  They are all great!
