Month: October 2003

  • The laundry room is all straightened up for the delivery people to bring my new dryer! YEAH!! I worked on my webpage last night and redid some of our wedding page and moved some stuff over from the old server. I have alot more to do, but it is a start. I still have a lot of work to do on my wedding page, but take a peek if you care to. I also expanded the drop down menu on my cookbook pages for eaiser navigation. I had been meaning to do that. I still have so many recipes to add to the site! Wow, do I cook a lot! Hubby was surfing through the categories last night pointing out which of his favorites have not yet been added. ARGH!!
Back to work.....chat at ya later. I need to finish my lunch and get busy around here, tonight is church so I won't be able to work any hours tonight. Later!

  • I was surfing a bit and I was inspired by the fall background at a new site I discoverd,Graphics Cupboard. I changed my backgrounds. I like this combination a lot! Ok...back to work!

  • The plumber was just here and unhooked the dryer for us. He said our venting system was illegal and our gas hook up was not up to code. We have to have both of those things changed to get the new dryer hooked up. I am actually ok with this. I never thought our venting system really worked all that well since there was always lint all over the laundry room. So maybe this will help with that problem. When hubby gets home I will see if he can help me clean out behind the dryer a bit. After the dryer I think we will be saving money to replace the fridge maybe?? We need to replace all of our appliances at some point. Hopefully they will all wait until we can afford to do that before they break. Obviously the washer didn't wait, but it was a wake up call to attend to replacing things. It is always a matter of saving up the money though, nothing is going on credit!

Tonight I have to call and see what time the delivery people will be bringing the dryer. Hopefully if they come in the morning I will be able to get the plumber out here to hook up the dryer tomorrow and not miss another day of work for that. But if I need to work from home another day, that will be fine too! Gotta love my employer, they are so flexible with me!

  • Tuesday and I am working from home. Not real motivated this morning. ARgh..not a good thing when you are working from home. I have two reports to write today, if I complete that it will be a great day!

I am waiting for the plumber to come and unhook the dryer. He will be here between 12:00 -2:00. Hubby marinated some steak yesterday so he will be grilling when he gets home. Gotta love that!

I might as well do my dreaded to do list and get busy on my reports for work. I am working on deep cleaning the kitchen this week. Later!

    TO DO:
    Sweep&Mop
    Dust & Vacuum
    Mirror & Doors
    Clean fridge
    Clean Microwave
    Clean Stove
    Clean Kitchen Shelve
    Defusing Bowls
    Complete 2 reports for work

  • Getting ready to call it a night. I didn't get home from work until 8:30 so I spent a little bit of time with the kids, then marched them off to bed. Literally actually, Tommy has Daddy and I march behind him for a parade to go to bed. Usually he plays his pretend horn, but tonight he decided to hit a book as a drum. He is an amazing little goof!

I am working from home tomorrow. I still don't know what time the plumber will be coming to unhook the dryer. They said they would call between 7-8 tomorrow to tell me. I need to get two reports done tomorrow for work and hopefully I will also get my chores from today done. They will only take me an hour, tops.

I came home to a huge pile of folded clean laundry!! My hubby was a sweet man today and did numerous loads of laundy. He also washed the dishes and ran an errand for me. I am so appreciative of him at this moment! I think it is time for me to go snuggle with him. Later!!

  • A quick to do list before I hit the shower and get ready for ECFE.

    MONDAY TO DO:
Call the Plumber guy to unhook the dryer
    Change Sheets
    Dust & Vacuum
    Sweep & Mop
    MIrrors & Dooors

I am not so sure I will get all this done as I need to work late tonight. I won't be getting into the office until about 12:00, so I need to work to at least 7:00. Well I best hit the shower!

  • We had a wonderful time at the Apple Orchard. Tommy rode the horsie. He really enjoyed that. He kept saying "I rode the horsie" to everyone. I walk along side the horse as the made it around the pasture. They had some teen girls that lead the horses. I walked along too incase Tommy had trouble. At one point he was starting to slide to the side so I reached to stablize him. He said "NO...myself!". So he rode himself with no correction from Mommy. Of course when the girl said all done at the end he said "no!". But I got him off all the same.

Then a coal train came by. He was really into that. He has never seen a train before. Then we went and walked in the orchard. Tommy said all kinds of words, "apple, pumpkin, etc." After wards we went to the orchard store for a treat. Daddy was a bit hungry when we went in there...OH NO!!! We ended up with a lot of treats! Tommy enjoyed an apple cookie on the way home.

The rest of the evening Tommy and I played while Daddy went to pick up Josh at his dads. I washed three loads on Tommy's clothes in dreft for him to wear this week. I will try this for the week and see if it makes a difference. If his skin clears up better I will be washing his clothes separate for the entire winter. I still need to buy some hypoallergenic soap for at daycare as well.

After Tom was in bed, I straightened up a bit in the living room and kitchen. Then I took my me time and exercised. Now I am going to sneak off to bed and read for a bit. Tomorrow I can sleep in a little bit since I go to school with Tommy and hubby. What a great hubby I have..........he goes to school with Tommy and I each week. He makes me smile with his dedication to me and our children. At least I know my children have a great example of what a father should be like. Unlike my first marriage where it was always Josh and I doing things. I am glad that isn't the example my kids see now, they see that Dads are part of the family and go to church with us, on outings, to the Drs, and to movies. We do stuff as a family, because that is what is important!

  • AAAAH....Sunday....I had to go to church alone this morning with Tommy as my hubby got called into work. Josh's dad didn't bring him to church this morning for some reason. Erik was there, his mom brought him, he has used an ink stamp and covered his face and arms. Don't ask me what he could have been thinking. Tommy had fun in Sunday school, he did a little worksheet where they put a sticker on it of a baby. All he could talk about was the baby. LOL!!!

After Church I returned both movies we had rented, Daddy Daycare and The Core. And believe it or not we actually watched them both. Hubby was home from work when we returned. YEAH!!! I left Tommy with him and ran to Target to buy some Dreft. Tommy is still having trouble with eczema so I think I will try washing his clothes separate for a bit and see if it improves. He has such sensitive skin.

Tommy is now down for a nap and I will be joining him in a few. Once he wakes up we will be going to the apple orchard. They have free pony rides from 2:30 to 5:00 and it is a beautiful warm fall day today! My hubby is going too, even though the Vikings and the Twins are playing today! He is the best. His priority is always his family.

Now time for my nap. Talk to you later!!! I have to get a lot done around the house tonight once Tommy heads to bed! Monday is school of course, so I will go into work late.

  • AAAAH....catch up Saturday! I am not as motivated as I would like to be today to clean. But then again when are we excited about cleaning. I am playing my favorite game to motivate myself. The funny thing is most of you will understand it as if you read my blog are similiar to me. I not very motivated by a list today as the list seems never ending so I am playing the rotation game!!! yes, I have too much time on my hands, I set hte timer for 15 minutes and I rotate through the main areas of my house 15 minutes at a time. After 30 minutes I earn a 15 minute break yeah!!!! So since I am typing now I am either cheating or have earned my 15 minutes!

So far I spent 15 minutes in the Dining Room and Living Room. (finally the stick floor in the living room is cleaned, Tommy spilt juice and Daddy didn't clean it up very well!). Now i have 15 minutes to enjoy some water and blogging.....Yadda, Yadda, Yadda

Next it will be 15 minutes in the Kitchen, then bathroom! Hopefully I will be done then as I hope Tommy wakes up by then! LOL!! If not it is on to the bedroom. You get the picture.....isn't funny that as an adult I still have to invent games to keep my attention and motivation. OH. well what ever works. The house is a bit out of control since I have been sick for a few days. Hubby doesn't really care too much how things look. I have no idea what happened to my neat freak hubby. he is LONG gone........now I am the neat freak. WEIRD....

Ok, Ok...off to the kitchen....chat at ya later or in about 30 minutes!
