    Recipes to try…

    CREAMY HAM AND BROCCOLLI

My family loves this one and the kids have no problem eating the broccolli.

    Ingredients:

1 lb cubed cooked ham (or spam!)
1 lb of broccoli, chopped into bite size pieces
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
8oz of processed cheese (like Velveeta), for variation I will use different flavors of Velveeta
    1 c instant rice
    1 c milk
    1/2 c chopped celery
    1/2 c chopped onion
    1/4 tsp pepper

    Directions:

Place all ingredients in the slow cooker. Stir. Smooth top, making sure rice is well into mixture.

Cover. Cook on high 2-1/2 hours or on low 4 to 5 hours. (I prefer low… the flavors seem to blend better). Stir occacionally if possible.

  • Just browsing blogrings.

Just out of curiosity, do you think that cream of chicken would work just as well to replace the cream of mushroom? I am not a mushroom eater, but this sounds delish other than that. Hehe. I’m not very good at “substituting” in recipes. ANY recipe that can go in the crock pot is a winner! LOL

  • Oh yes, and BTW, what precisely is a “blog carnival”? I’ve never heard of that before.

  • It seems that we’re both into cooking right now. I was thinking about your post on going to the groc store less often. I am going to try and think about my groc. from a monthly perspective instead of weekly and see if that works better for me.

  • Mmm – sounds yummy! I love broccoli. Come by my blog to see the recipe I posted yesterday for chicken pot pie. It was the first one I’d ever made, and it was delicious! Enjoy your weekend.

  • This recipie looks delicous and easy. I found your site from  another friend. Hi and bye nice to meet you.                              angelgal22
