Month: February 2002

  • Hello....Where has this week gone????  ARgh....last night I spent all my free time finishing up my book on tape as it was overdue.   I was listening to Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver.  I didn't much care for the ending.  Tommy was a bit crabby last night, so I ended up putting a little baby oral gel on his bottom gum and he was jsut fine after that.  So I think we will be beginning our adventure in teething soon.

Gee can't think of anything else I have done this week, isn't that sad??   Just busy with work and stuff, and trying to finish reading two books for my on-line book group.  If you have a baby, you will enjoy the book Tending Rose by Lisa Wingate, it is about slowing your life down and enjoying your children.  It is a fictional book about a young mother with a 4 month old that had health problems that goes to stay with her family at her Grandma's farm due to her grandma becoming unsafe due to loss of memory and stuff after a stroke.   The Grandma, sees the grand-daughter struggling and writes in a flowered journal and leaves it for her to read.  THe journal entries are very good and life directing for the grand-daughter.    I hope to read more of this tonight.

Tonight we had Family First.   We have a presenter that spoke about Simple Living, Clutter Control, Household Organization, etc.  I didn't feel like I learned anything new, as I really have been pretty good about keeping up with this to some extent.   But I think it was helpful for my hubby, maybe he will actually throw something away.  She recommneded a number of books, etc, but I think that Flylady is the best for me, I don't need to look any further.  Though like everyone I fall off the Flylady wagon often enough...LOL!!

Next week the presenter must be a creative memories person.  She will be talking about preserving memories, photos, etc.

Today at my work, it was clean up day!  We are moving to a new building in August so we have to start cleaning out our cubes.  I am sure I threw enough junk out of my cube that would equal more than my own weight!   but it really felt great!!  We will have a second clean up day in July to finish cleaning and packing for the move.   I doubt the new building will be done by August, things never really ever stay on schedule with the government!

I always forget to answer the questions my posters ask me...so here goes..........

CYNDIM - BTW, I had Tommy's pics taken at Sears at Maplewood.  I have the smile savers card there....we like it!

  • This is sort of morbid.   You fill out this little survey to see how long you will live.  I should die on Thursday May 22, 2059 at 11:51:51 PM.  Gee.....that is interesting....

The things my mom sends me..........ROFL!!!

  • Just catching up on email.  I received this forward from my mother, made me chuckle...so I had to share,

5 Good Reasons Men Should Not Babysit

  • Menus done for the next two weeks.  They are not very excited.  I shouldn't make them on such a dreary, unmotivated day.  I am trying two new recipes from the most recent Quick Cooking, Hamburger Skillet and Cheddar Chicken Pie.   Will share if they are good!

  • Hello...I am here again...what a deary day I don't feel like doing much of anything but surfing on the net.  Found some cool sites, will share later!  I just crossed off one more thing on my list, so now back to work.  It might seem weird but it really motivates me to put my list on here and cross off items as I get them done.   Plus I get to sneak on for a minute to cross them off...LOL!!!

  • Yes, I have been spending way too much time messing around with the look on my site.  (whispering)  I am actually still in my pjs...LOL!!  I have to go complete my list!  Later!

  • Hello everyone!!

This morning the alarm clock went off, and hubby turned it off so we didn't make it to church.  But I did watch the broadcast on TV in my pj's.  That is one thing I like about our church if I don't feel well and don't make it to church I can watch it on local cable.  I did that a lot when I was pregnant and so ill wit hthe gestational diabetes.

Yep, it is about 11:30 here and I am still in my pj's.  I did watch church and read the paper already.  I have a number of items I must finish today.  I need to finish listening to my book on tapes, since they are due on Monday.  I have four tapes left.

    TO DO:

    Finish Prodigal Summer on tape
    Reconcile Checkbook
    Pay Bills
    Complete our taxes
Make menu for the next two weeks
Get Package Ready to Mail to Dawn
    Finish up Laundry
Make the rest of the Egg McMuffins to freeze for Breakfasts.

Change the look of site, Valentine's day is OVER, DUH!

Hubby sent me some great sites for kids, that I have to get around to checking out.  I will send your way if I like them.

I guess I should do I quick tour to see what all of you are up to, then jump in the shower and get busy around here.  It seems to be a start of a lazy day.  Tommy and Paul (hubby) are taking naps as I type....LOL!!

    Have a relaxing Sunday!

  • As you can tell we went to have Tommy's pictures taken today.  He was a bit crabby, but did ok, not his usual big smile.   We went to the library this morning and picked up the books I had on reserve.  I love the library!!

Paul got his haircut, then Tommy's pictures taken.  We had a friend over for supper and watched the exocist on TV.   I made parmesan chicken, pasta and an onion vinagrette salad for supper.  I also made the Lethal Pepermint cake for the cake Dr cookbook, that KImmiesMommie mentioned.  YUMMY!!!

Now I have scanned Tom's Pics and time for me to head to bed.  I am soooo tired!
