  • ***WARNING**** It is 8:00am on a Saturday and I am awake.........fair warning that I am not a happy person.   I have one day a week I can sleep in, but NO....my hubby chooses to be a smoker so he coughs throughout the entire night, off an on waking me up numerous times a night.  Then when it gets near morning he hacks....Gee if you want to do this to yourself, fine, but leave me out of it!

He was not smoking when we married and I feel a bit cheated that he started after we were married. ......YEah yeah yeah....it is all about me, me, me.....I told ya I was crabby.

Though he has never smoked in my house, his clothes reek when he comes in from outside.   Sorry to you smokers out there......I don't mind smoking, just don't want to be married to or live with one.

Alright I am done whining, I suppose I might as well look at it on the bright side and think about how I can get to the grocery store this am before the rush................*(I still rather be sleeping).

  • A quick hello before I am off to work.  Working at home yesterday was not good, Tommy was unbelievable crabby and only wanted to be held and I didn't feel well in the afternoon.  ARGH!!

This morning Tommy tried bananas for the first time, he liked them.  I mashed up a fresh banana in a mini food processor I have.   There were a few chunks which he would spit out, but otherwise it was ok.

    Well time to run.........later!

  • Happy Wednesday.............

SO today is my day to *attempt to work from home.   As soon as I get Tommy settled down, I will get out my laptop and work on some reports for work.   He is listening to his mobile right now.  He is up dressed, has ate his yams and hada bottle.   So he should be fine soon.  Just a bit crabby, but he has that tooth coming in.

I just checked my library account and I have three books in...YEAH!! That is always exciting for me.....(what a geek!)

The books are all baby food making books.....

Mommy made-- and daddy to : home cooking for a healthy baby and toddler

The baby cookbook : tasty and nutritious meals for the whole family that babies and toddlers will also love

Microwave cooking for your baby and child : the ABCs of creating quick, nutritious meals for little ones

OH and CUPOJAVA - the book your reading, Super Baby Food, is the one I am using as well.  But I am not sure how I feel about there super porridge and all the additional things they add, especially the brewer's yeast.  My oldest son is allergic to yeast so I don't really want to introduce it to Tommy and find out the hard way he is allergic too.

So I have been flipping through numerous book and websites on the topic of making baby food to see what I come up with.   We have made some food already and it was VERY easy!  Actually sort of fun, but I love to cook.

Well I am off to rescue crabby, he isn't intetersted in his mobile anymore.

  • Hello.........

Hope everyone is doing well!!   Today was busy at work, I was out visiting families, always enjoyable.   I got home early from work today so I made baby food.  The pears and nectarines were ripe so I have them all made into food cubes.   I got about 31 cubes out of the four pears and only 14 out fo the 4 nectarines.  Tommy should be set for a while in food.

Tommy had a little surprise for me this afternoon, he always wants to chew on our fingers.   He chewed on mine and I felt a tooth.  Tommy has his first toothy breaking through.  That might explain why he has been so crabby.

That is it for now, I have to get supper finished up for Josh and I.  Later!  Have a great evening.

  • I have a crabby baby today....hard to get much of anything done.  He wants to just be held all the time.  I actually have him laying in his crib and he is watching his mobile, which he seems to be enjoying for a while.  Hopefully it will last long enough for me to blog and check my mail.

I have another dance costume to sew for my neice Chelsea. I have to have it done by Tuesday...ARGH!!  So I know what I will be doing tomorrow night.

*ARGH...Tommy is starting to fuss again.  ARGH!!

This week the developmental activity we are working on with TOmmy is awareness of fingers by singing "Where is Thumbkin?"  We sing that in ECFE too, so he likes it.

OH yeah..I have to tell you about church today...LOL!!  Palm Sunday today so all the little kids, were lining the pews with Palms as Jesus rode in on a donkey.  Well the donkey went a bit wild in front of the chruch and started bucking and stuff.   Jesus had to really hang on!!  That was a very quick entrance and exit for the donkey.   The good thing is no one was hurt, but it was interesting.

  • Today's baby food adventure??   I had a bag of apples in the fridge no had touched so they became apple sauce.   It was so easy to do.  So I have 39 - 1-oz. cubes of apple sauce for Tommy, for when we introduce apple sauce.   We are sticking to Yams for a while now.   After yams, I think we will have some bananas.  They should be ripened by then.

Well supper is in the oven and now it is time to get the menu for the next two weeks made.   I haven't come up with the two new recipes i want to try...HMMMMMMMMMMMM...

    Later!

  • I wanted to share two cool sites I found about making baby food!

    Homemade Baby Food

    Alana's Food - Recipes

  • Hello all!!!!!!!!!!!

No I haven't dropped of the face of the earth, just feels like it!  I typed a entry on Thursday night, but it got ate and I didn't want to retype!  So here is a quick update on us all...............

Gee...can't even remember, what we have been up to.

Last weekend was our kid weekend.  We went to see the Easter Bunny and made a snowman outside.

Josh had his Choir concert at school on Tuesday, it was very nice.  Tommy was very good during it, I was worried about that since I had to go alone with him since Paul had class that night.

Wednesday was the start of my MSSA (minnesota Social Serivces )conference.  It lasts three days so that is a busy time.  Though I didn't attend on Friday as I took the day off.   It was a fun conference all the same.

Thursday was Erik's School conference, which was ok.   I always hate going to those.....ex-wives, there should be a law.

Thursday night I checked into a hotel to work on my master's thesis in peace. I could never get any of it done at hime with the kids all here and stuff.   I stayed over two nights and got a lot done!  It was a very nice time, but I really missed Paul and the boys.

    TOMMY UPDATE::

Tommy has been a busy little man, he started eating cereal a few weeks ago.  He likes it and is eating well.   He is rolling over from his back to his tummy.

The funny thing was on Tuesday Paul called me at work and said "I don't want you to be upset,  but I was in the bathroom shaving and Tommy was laying playing with his gym in the living room".  My mind is racing, what happened to my baby!!!!    "When I came out he was on his tummy, he had rolled over and didn't let any of us see."

It wasn't until a few days later he let me see him roll over....now you can't keep him still!!  He loves giving kisses and is so much fun.

I just got finished making out first attempt at making our own baby food.  I made a number of cubes of Yams and avacados.   I will let Tommy taste the Yams tomorrow.   We will see how that goes.    I still have peaches, pears and bananas to try, but they weren't ripe enough.

Well I am off to clean up the kitchen.  Have a great night!

  • My oldest and my youngest sons.  *Smile*   I am truly blessed that my oldest, adores his baby brother so much.

  • Hello -

Well the stormy wintery weather seems to be clearing up.  We headed to the mall on Saturday and saw the Easter Bunny and the petting zoo.  I took pictures of the kids, will have to past later.  It was fun and the kids were actually pretty well-behaved.  We stopped at the arcade for the older boys could have a fun activity, since the Easter Bunny wasn't all that impressive to them.

Then we came home, I had a roast in the crockpot for supper so we had that.  I went outside while Tommy and Kristen were napping and built a snowman with the kids, pictures to follow of course.

That was most of our Saturday that I can remember.  Hubby and I watched City of Angels on TV that evening.  I like the movie, but the ending always gets me.

Sunday was a busy morning, the boys didn't get up early so had to rush to get ready for church.  I handed Tommy to hubby and Tommy puked all over.  Had to change Tom's clothes and dad's too.    Tommy has been puking about once a day over the weekend, he has never done that before so I might have to take him into the Dr.  He seems fine, though.  He is happy as can be before and after he gets sick.  Wierd.   The only difference is that on Saturday I started him on Rice cereal, but he started the puking on Friday already.    He enjoys the cereal and is only eating about 1 teaspoon, he would eat more, but that is all I am giving him.   He doesn't drink a lot of formula so I dont' want that to decrease too much.   I never did get him up to the 35 ounces a day the Dr wanted.

After church I took Josh shopping for a new white shirt and tie for his choir concert.  He outgrew the one i bought him a few months ago already.      We actually had to shop in the Men's department, he isnt' my little boy anymore.  He then went on the internet and founda site to learn to tie his tie, which he can how do fine.  LOL!  He looks very nice  and all grown up.

Then Sunday is my day for a nap...AAAAH....Hubby warmed up leftovers for the kids and I took a nap.   I was wakened by the movie "Jesus Christ Superstar".  Hubby and kids love that movie.  It is the time of year where we watch it a couple of time.

Oh yeah and I must thank KIMMIESMOMMIE for introducing me to Pogo.com....ARGH!!  I am addicted to Poppit!  OH MY!!  It is a lot of fun!
