Month: April 2002

  • Normal Sunday around here.  We went to church and than decided to finish watching our movies.  We rented K-Pax, Training Day and Riding Cars with Boys for the weekend and actually watched them all.

While watch the movies I organized my Taste of Home and Quick Cooking Magazines.  I had pulled a number of them out of the three ring binders so I returned them .  Have Taste Of Home all the way back to Jan 1995 and Quick Cooking back to the first issue, January 1999.   I should just buy the annual recipe books and throw my magazines away.  They take up so much room.  But I like paging through the magazines too....hmmmmmmmmm ...what to do.

Well now I have to scoot and quick clean the kitchen and bathroom.  Then I have a unfinished project to finish.  Well I hope everyone had a great weekend.

  • I have changed my theme to a more springy look, so the snow outside my window is suppose to disappear NOW!!!!  I am now officially sick and tired of SNOW!

  • Our theme for the day with Tommy is Prunes, Prunes, Prunes.....poor little man.  I am not sure what is causing all his trouble.  But he ate some of a jar of prunes today and we have added prune juice to every bottle of formula.   We also had him drink some just plain water, so hopefully this will do the trick.  He has gone, but still not pleasant for him.  ARGH!!

Tomorrow I was going to start in on Pears, and I will add oatmeal single grain cereal since the rice is suppose to be more binding.

I just got home from my neighbors pampered chef party.  It was ok, and I bought three things.  I own so much pampered chef...I LOVE IT!   I bought a stoneware deep dish pie pan, egg slicer plus and the large micro cooker.

Well it is early I think I am going to finish up my email and try to read for a bit before I fall asleep.  Hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend!

  • Yes, I watched ER.  I really like Mark Green, hate to see him leaving/dying.  I wonder how many more episodes he is on?  I did manage to pay all my bills as well.  So that is good....and even have some money left over for the weekend...WOO HOO!!  But of course we have no plans for the weekend, but I think I am going to go to a pampered chef party on Friday night at a neighbors.   I have to remember to RSVP tomorrow....argh!

Well I am off to read for a bit,  I have to be up early for ECFE Class with Tommy.  Did I mention to you all that my neice Kristen is being tested for speech services through the school district.  Sometime I hate knowing and being in the field that I am in.   First it was my nephew Nick, I had a feeling he was autistic, but how do you tell a family member you think there is something wrong with their child.  But at our wedding one of the my co-workers, another social worker mentioned that she thought Nick was autistic...the rest is history.  He was diagnosed last year, and is receiving school services this year in Kindergarten.

Now my SIL's other child is 2-1/2 and still not talking.  Argh....I suggested she call the early childhood program at the school and see if they might assist her or at least assess Kristen.  Well as I suspected, she has speech delays and will most liekly be getting services.   But I think with Kristen early intervention is the key, she will most likely catch up very quickly.  I really thought that once she had tubes put in her ears she would talk up a storm, but that never occurred.   That is what happened with Josh, before he had tubes put in his hearing was equivalent of being 6 feet under water.  He had the tubes in and started talking up a storm.  Kristen just hasn't taken off yet, but I think she will.

Well I am off to rock my baby for a bit and go read.  Good Night!

  • Hello...just a quick hello before ER.  I can't miss that!   But I will pay my bills while I watch...so I won't be totally unproductive.

Busy day at work, I worked late since tomorrow morning I will be coming in late as Tommy as ECFE class.

Hubby and I just got back for Sam's Club...I got a great deal on some veggies for Tommy.  5 Pounds of Carrots for 1.98...that should make alot of cubes of babyfood.   We also bought avacados (which Tommy likes), pears, bananas and yams.   They had mangos but I wasn't sure at what age to introduce those, but I looked and I can introduce those at 6 months so I will go back and buy those.  So I guess I will be spending some time this weekend making babyfood.   I love providing him with healthy good food!  We sure are saving a lot of money compared to buying the jars.

Not much else I guess...I need to get my bill stuff together and get ready for ER....ENJOY!!  Chat at ya Tomorrow!

  • Morning..........

Yesterday was a good productive day of working at home.  I completed three plans and one transfer.  So that was good.   I think it will work to continue to work from home on Wednesday, since I am getting a good amount of work done.

Families First was fine last night.  We talked about a book called Boundaries with Kids:  when to say say yes, when to say no to help your children gain control of their lives, By Henry Cloud.  It was in interesting discussion.   But I was a bit at a loss maybe it was because we have already gone through the toddler/preschool stage with Erik and Josh, but other parents had boundary issues that we don't have.  But then again we are fairly strict, we have rules and they have been rules for years, end of subjest.  My kids don't push the boundaries, like having pop for breakfast...etc..  I want to read the book though.

Next week we are discussing a book called Letters from a Skeptic by Gregory Boyd and Edward Boyd.  This is a book that is actually letters back and forth between a father and son regarding questions and struggles with Christianity.   I have ckecked it out from the library and I hope to get most of it read by next class.  We will see.  I am already reading a book called Epecting Adam, by Martha Beck which I am enjoying.   I hate to put that aside, but I guess I will need to.

The last few nights I haven't read at all, I simply get to bed and fall striahgt to sleep.  I have been so tired!

Well time to get Tommy up and dressed. Paul just took Josh to school as he overslept and missed the bus.   After the baby is up and fed for the day I am off to work at the office.  I just got an email that I have a new case waiting for me when I get there.   The work is never done.

But hopefully by having these Wednesday days at home I will get caught up on plan writing.  Have a great day!!!!!!

  • Hello..........

Just stopped in while I eat my lunch.  Tommy and I ran a quick errand over lunch.  I had to pick up my wedding ring from being repaired.  Before lunch I actually got 3/4 of the plan I was working on written.  So I was pretty happy with my progress.

I just fed and put Tommy down for his nap in his room, so hopefully he goes to sleep.  That should give me a couple of hours to finish up working for the day.

    Well back to working..........later!

  • Working at home Update..........

Ok...so far so go.  I am taking a little break here.  It has been going pretty well so far.

After I was showered and dressed to my shoes (*smirk), I got Tommy up dressed and fed.  We played for a bit, then he went in his bouncy car and watched his baby Mozart video.  While he did that I completed the updates to one service plan.  WHOO HOO!!

After I was done with that report I changed him and played a bit with him.  Then he went into his swing  and I worked on my second plan to write today.  I actually had only thought I would get one done my noon and here I am starting on my second one.  This is good!

Tommy has now fallen asleep in his swing so it is time for me to type furiously at this plan and get it done before he wakes up.  This one will take a bit longer since I have to write the plan from scratch, is not just an update.

So far so good, I will check back in with ya all around lunch time maybe.   I have to keep myself motivated and working.........LATER!

P.S. - Great News, I don't have to watch Kristen today.... I'm glad since I want to get a lot of plans done.

  • Good Morning...........

Today is my day to work from home, hopefully it goes better than it did last week.  Tommy was crabby last week due to teething.   My SIL called last night and is dropping Kristen off during nap time so she came dome something or another.   Hello, folks, I am home and working.......like being at my job.   So we will see howthat goes, if I am not able to get stuff done, this will be the last time she will come over when I am working.

It is enough for me to take care of Tommy.  Let's see, what else is new around here.  Not much...work, taking care of the kids.  I was able to get some laundry put away last night and a few other things.  Tommy was actually in a pretty good mood.  Tonight our Families Frist Class starts up again.  I missed our class over holy week.   And Friday we are back in ECFE, which we haven't had for like 2 weeks.

Well Tommy is crying, I guess it is time for my day to officially begin.   (Gulping diet Mt Dew to wake up!).

  • Happy Easter from Tommy and the Bunny....and...

The whole crew:  Nicholas, Tommy, Kristen and Erik!

Josh says, Happy Easter too, but he is WAY too Cool to be seen with the Easter Bunny!

P.S. I know we are a little late on our Easter Wishes, but it was a busy time!  I hope everyone had a lovely Easter with their families.
