  • It's Friday, It's Friday, It's Friday, ...YEAH YEAH YEAH.....I am so glad for this week to end.  I am hoping to get off work early today I have a 1:00 appointment with a new child and then I hope tp come home.  So I should be home by 4:00 hopefully.

Tonight we are having SIL and BIL over for supper.  So I need to figureout what I will be making with chicken for supper tonight.  Hmmmmmm.....

Saturday is the beginning of our SURPRISE WEEKEND!  We should be heading out around 3:00. I sure hope the boys are good.   Luckily we won't be too far from home.

Well I am off to look up a couple of recipes and head to work.  LATER!

  • Another long day at work.  Emotionaly it was a draining day to some extent I did homevisit with some families in crisis.   I got home tonight at about 8:00.  I get home to Tommy waking up from a nap and blowing out his diaper all over the crib.  ARGH!!  Hubby was VERY happy I came home when I did.  I got Tommy cleaned up and bathed.  Hubby stripped the bed and stuff.

When I got home our neighbor and her friend came over.  My SIL and BIL came to pick up their youngest that hubby was babysitting.   So it was a houseful, but it was nice.   The kids played for a bit.  Then I looked at my nephews hair and realized I really need to cut is hair before school starts.   My nephew Nick is autistic, like many of the kids I work with.  I have been cutting his hair since his first haircut and he will let no one else cut it.   He is now able to tolerate the new clippers I have so I can cut his hair much faster.  It is still hard for him though.  We play a game called "Super Still Boy" and he always gets a top secret treat after his haircut.   The ones I hide under my bed in my room.  And he thinks he is the only one in the world that knows about them.  I have a feeling I will be cutting Nick's hair until he is 30, but what can you do.  He doesn't like change much     Actually tonight Nick was fairly calm, my little neice Kristen was more wild then he.  Tomorrow night my SIL, BIL and kids are coming over to have supper with us and play the game Cranium.   I hope Nick will be calm tomorrow night and let us play a game.  You never quite know how he will be.

Well I am off to bed.   I need to get to work early and do some paperwork and then I am meeting a new child that has been assigned to my caseload.

I suppose I should figure out what I am making for supper tomorrow night. hmmmmmmmmmm.........

  • Well another day at work...another crisis arises with another family.  Man....is it something in the air???  End of summer...what??  So I will be out doing home visits tomorrow with two of the families so it will be a long night.  Argh...last meeting is at 5:00 so will be late when I get home.   I should take Friday off since I will have all my hours in, but too much work to do.  I will take a day off when things mellow out!

Tonight was our meet the teacher night at Families First.  I am not entirely sure I will like it this year.   They are dividing the children up differently and seem like Tommy will just be in a daycare like situation.  I don't need or want that.  We will see, I have paid my tuition for the first two months so we will see.

Tommy had a good time playing with the other children.  He enjoyed the slide, the garden and the balls.  He just loved watching all the other kids running around.   Speaking, the little darling is still up and refusing to go to bed.  Not sure what is up with that.  Argh....Paul just layed him down again in his crib.   Tonight Tommy figured out how to walk with one of those push toy walker thing....not sure what you call them.  He was going up and down the hallway independently.

I finally just decided to cut up the ham and freeze it since I can't find the time to do a big cooking session right now.  So I made about 6 bags of cubes ham, 2 bags of ham dinner slices and one bag of ham steaks.

Well I am so tired, I am off to bed..................night!  I think Tommy is going to stay in his bed now.

  • I am off to bed...my stress level has dropped.   I spent a relaxing evening going for a bike ride with hubby and baby.  I sat in my living room quietly watching as my baby discovered the world around him.  This is my favorite activity in the world.  He would crawl and cruise from item to item....intently investigating everything.  He is just thrilled with zippers.  He found a bag and pillow with a zipper tonight.   He was so excited.

New cute baby tricks Tommy has learned:

    • Clap his hands
    • Shake his head "no".
    • Wave "bye bye"
    • Crawl anywhere for a funyuns....(junk food is so motivating)
    • Splash Mommy during his bath.

Babies are such a miracle..........what a blessing.   Spending time with my children always bring everything back to perspective.  What is important in life...... My time with my children is so precious and so little.   With my work I am a part of many children's lives......but nothing like what I have iwth my own children.  I need to enjoy my time with them.

  • Hello -

I am glad to be home from work and I even made it home tonight by 7:00pm.   Today is a not a good social work day.   GRRRR....stress level is high.   In nut shell these are the things I wish for tomorrow!

    • Providers have good boundaries and get a clue.

    • Find magical placement opening.

    • Not have a single family on my caseload in crisis.

    • Zero children in need of emergency placement.

    • All phone calls happy, wonderful or only good news!  That should be the new screening tool.  A detector for only happy phone calls!

Can anyone out there promise this pipe dream will be true when I wake up tomorrow???  I only wish!!!    I rarely talk about my work, today was a usually difficult day or week, could possible go into a month already.   ARGH!!!!

So I say to myself, what am I going to do????  NOTHING all evening!!!  I am going to go for a bike ride and forget my day, maybe even have a nice long hot bath.  As for my list...tomorrow is another day.  I did do a couple of things...but the rest will have to wait a bit I think.   I am a bit stressed this needs to be my evening for myself.  People have been taking too much fomr me today....nothing much left.    (what whiner!)

    • Stop at the bank

    • Exercise???
    • Put Laundry from Dining Room table away.

I am sure you are all impressed I got this much done today.  Well I did that striked items before work!    I have to be into work for a meeting early tomorrow so I am off..............Later!!!

MScaffeineaddict - I feel for your going back to work and teaching!  I just had a IEP meeting for a client with a very nice group of teachers.  So I think teachers across the USA are not ready for their summer to be over quite yet!

Gee...today at work I was even thinking about Flylady.....how right some of her thoughts are.   I have another report of a garbage house...and I feel bad as I know how badly the parent must feel about herself.   ARGh.....

I am gonna go wake the baby to go for a bike ride.

  • YAWN....no I didn't get up as early as I had hoped.  I am a bit tired, nothing unusualy there.  Just as I thought, my legs are a bit sore this morning.  I am not sure I will exercise this morning.  I have not made my menus for the next few weeks, so I think i will have to just wing supper tonight......hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Well I woke up Erik this morning at 7:30 and he is really tired, why???..because Daddy let him stay up until after 10:30.  Not cool....they both can pay the price today i guess.   My hubby is the worse man in the world when it comes to consistency with the children.

  • It is the end of the day and I SOOOO ready for bed.  I got most of my cleaning done this evening.  I also exercised again.  Paul put the baby bike seat on my bike so I took Tommy for a ride.  It was fun.  I will try to exercise again in the morning.  Every little bit helps.  I eventually want to get back into lifting weights a couple times a week.  I haven't done that since I got pregnant with Tommy.

Well Josh is sleeping over at a friends.  Erik is watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind, since we were at Devils Tower on Vacation.   He is going to have a hard time getting up in the morning.   But Paul is letting him...so what am I to say.  I am heading to bed at a decent hour tonight (10:00pm) and am going to read for a little bit.  I hope to get up early again tomorrow morning and put the laundry away and exercise before I need to get ready for work.

Well lunch is winding down and I need to write at least one thank you note yet, so I need to scoot.   <BEAMING> I must say today has been pretty productive for a Monday....very unusual for me.

  • The boys are happy with me..........I had them get up at normal school time this morning to start paracticing.  LOL!!   So both are up and whining on the couch how tired they are.   Josh will need to be on the bus by 6:59 so he will be getting up early.  He is a lot like me definitely not a morning person!  But I am up and getting ready for work too!

Erik was still sleeping when I got up, so I went and woke himm up.  He is a tired little boy.  Hopefully by the end of the week they will be getting up ok.

This weekend is our surprise weekend.  We always go somewhere with the boys to celebrate the last weekend of summer vacation.  This year we are only going over to Minneapolis to a hotel that has a large indoor waterpark and ice skating rink in it.  It should be fun for the boys for the weekend.  We will bring board games to play as well and snacks.  It is a nice time together to just get ready to head back to school.

I am slowly starting to get back into the routine called our life.  I have been so out of sync since returning from vacation.  I finally got my kitchen all cleaned up last night, but I still need to scrub the floors.  I will probably do that tonght.  I have a number of loads of laundry to get done as well and laundry from our dining room table to get put away.

Today I will do some od my weekly cleaning before and after work.  Hopefully I will get it all done.  Last night I deforsted the upright freezer in the basement.  Today Paul will return all the coolers to all the neighbors for me.
