Month: November 2002

  • hello - I am up and ready for today NOT!!  By the time this day is over I will need a couple of stiff drinks!   Today Erik is going to Fraser to have testing done to find out if he has some neurological difficulty causing his behavioral and educational problems.  I don't mind going to the testing, actually glad I am.  But four hours in a room with Hubby's ex' wife!   ARGH...will be certifiable by the time it is done.   And I simply can't stand to be with her, since afterwards I will have to listen to hubby bitch forever like always, but he will never address his concerns with her.  Just complain, complain, complain to me.  Fun DAY, NOT!

I have to do a bit of laundry yet.  I tried to stay up and wait for Josh to get home from babysitting last night.  I fell asleep but he got home around 1:16 since he turned the hall light on in my eyes.  I had trouble falling back to sleep after that.

SO today will be spent trying to get through this testing, I hope they find a answer about Erik.  I worry about him a lot.  He just doesn't understand much of life at all.    Off to continue working on my huge room on laundry!  I am sure I will type more later to vent!

  • Tommy did wonderful at his flu shot appointment.  He didn't even cry, I was amazed.  She stuck him and he just gave her a dirty look.   I also had the PA recheck his ears and they are all clear.  I hope they stay that way for a bit.

After the appointment, Tommy and I took a nap.  I read my book for a bit but then went to sleep as well.  I got up around 5:30 and we put those plastic window insulter kits on the windows.  It sure warms up the house when we do that.

Then Tommy woke up so he and I share a plate of Thanksgiving leftovers.  He loves the Green Bean Hot dish and mash potatoes.   He was eating the potatoes with his hand while he held his spoon in the other hand.  LOL!!!

Joshua is at the neighbors babysitting their little boy until 12:30 or so.  So he will probably be home after we are in bed.   Hubby and I are going to watch the Grinch that Stole Christmas with Jim Carey in it as we check that DVD out from the library.  So a pretty quiet day and night around here.

I haven't done much on my list, but then tomorrow is another day.  I have done a few loads of laundry, but have a few more to go!   Later!!!

  • Tommy is taking his nap.  I will have to wake him up in one hour to take him to get his flu shot.  He needs the second dose of it.  I am not sure if they will give it to him or not, since he has a runny nose again.  We will see.   After that I am coming home to pick up Paul and we are going to the library.

Josh is outside putting xmas lights up in the crab apple tree outside.  I think Tommy will enjoy looking at that from the picture window.  Eriks is playing with friends, his bio-mom will be here to pick him up at 1:00.  Tomorrow he has testing at Fraser Center, should be very interesting.  My SIL Julie is going to come over and watch Tommy for us.

I am off to read my book for an hour, before I need to take Tommy for his shot.  I did get all the dishes from Thanksgiving all washed up!  YEAH!!  Wasn't so bad.  Tommy sat in the higchair and kept me company while I washed.   He was a little jabberbox.

  • I was trying to make it around to everyone's blog, but I better stop for now and shower and get dressed.  My alone time is done, Tommy is starting to stir in his room.  We had a wonderful day yesterday.  The food was great!  All the boys ate well!  josh must be going to have a growth spurt as he ate two full plates of food.  Well he is 14 years old!   Tommy loved the stuffing and wanted to eat that.

After supper we watched some football and then my SIL came over with her family.  We all had pie and then played the game Apples to Apples.  It was fun, we played two times.   Tommy was wonderful all evening.   He played until he started to get tired and then came to me and had a bottle and went right to bed.

I haven't talked about Tommy's signing for a while, since I was getting very discouraged with it.  I didn't do it much anymore since he stopped doing the sign he would do for milk.  He shows recognition of the signs, but wouldn't produce the one sign anymore.   Last night his aunt was feeding him pumpkin bread and got busy chatting and Tommy signed "More".  He was very appropriate in his signing.  It was very cool and now he will sign "sleep" to daddy when we get ready for bed.  So today I have to learn a couple more signs.  I don't know the sign for "ball" and I need that one as Tommy loves to play ball.  So I am increasing my singing again, I hope to continue to add new things.  I have forgotten some signs so I will need to look some up.   iam just so happy he is doing "more" independently!

Today Erik's bio-mom is coming to pick him up and I need to take Tommy to get his second flu shot.  I hate that!   I hope he does ok.  I always cry when he gets a shot.

I am off to shower and get Tommy up.  He is being very patient!  I will post my to do list later!   I for sure have to to my dishes from yesterday!  Argh...what a mountain!  Today is a holiday for me from work still....I am so happy to have a few extra days off to be with my family.  Gotta love them!

  • I am taking a quick break, then I need to go get the turkey in the oven.  Against my best judgement my hubby insists on having Stove Top Stuffing with Thanksgiving.  I ususally make my own stuffing, but I will accomodate him this year.  ARGH...

I baked my Pecan Apple Pies this morning and Ribbon Pumpkin bread.  I have with the hlep of my kids, finished cleaning the house.  SO now all that is left is to make our meal and get the table ready.

I have had enough of a break I better get going......later!

  • I am up, showered and dressed so I guess it is time to start getting things ready for Thanksgiving.  I need to make pies this morning and also my pumpkin bread.   I think the turkey is all thawed as well.

I still have most of the cleanign to do, last night we had family pictures and didn't get home until after 8:00 and I ended up just taking a hot bath and going to bed, so I have a lot to do.

My in-laws will be coming over today, but otherwise it should be a pretty quiet day.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  • Just my luck I type a long entry and it gets lost!!  Argh..not a good way to start my day.   So I have to redo my list here and maybe I will tell the other junk later.  ARGH!!

I did run a couple of other errands as well.  I returned two shirts to Target since they were lay flat to dry.  I hate that!!  I also had to stop by the bank and deposit a check.  Post Office to mail my bills.  So all that is done....

     Back to work.......argh!

  • Morning.......I didn't sleep very well last night, I kept waking up I wonder what this is about??   did read a little late again.  I have some books to pick up again at the library, but I hate to pick theem up when I'm not done reading my present book.  I only get to have them for such a short time.  I have been reading a bit more and hope to read a lot over Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation.

    Today's Holiday

    26– Day of the Covenant  -  Baha’i

This observance begins at sundown the day before, it commemorates Baha’u’llah’s designation of his own son as the center of his covenant.

  • The day is done, sure went fast.  I only got in a very short afternoon nap.  I live for Sunday naps.  Today we pretty much stayed around home all day after church.

During Tommy's first nap of the day I wrapped and wrapped Christmas Presents.  I didn't get them all wrapped, but a big chunk of them.  I have very little shopping left to do.  I do have to make our goodies plates we give to our neighbors and friends.  I haven't started my baking yet, but will be starting next weekend.  I need to sit down and figure out what we are all going to make.  I have the plates all bought all ready.  Actually I bought them last year, but we didn't do plates since I had just had Tommy.

During Tommy's second nap, I took a nap and read.  But I managed to get a few items from my list done.   I will work some more on to tomorrow.
