  • TOMMY NEWS

Tommy said two new words tonight.  He said "Ball" and "Ut-Oh". ROFL!!   He is so funny.  he says a million other gibberish, but those are the two words you can actually recognize.  Oh, yeah...and today Bonnie, his aunt/daycare provider, said he would bring things to her and say "See".

Where did all these words come from???  Very funny!

  • Hello - Today sure went by fast!!   It was a holiday for my work, so I didn't have to work.  I did end up needing to go to a school meeting for work, but I took some time off on Friday.

I slept in late today.  I was up late last night posting a couple of Ebay auctions.   I still have a number more to do.  Mostly jsut shoes and stuff of Tommy's.  He is forever outgrowing things.

The only exciting events of the day were I finally remembered to by a new toilet seat and I finally gave out cat, Robbie, a bath.  He had gotten into some thistles or something in the swamp out back and had knots in his fur.  Not the most fun in the world.  But much nicer to have a clean cat sleep on your pillow with you at night.

Today was my weekly cleaning day so I did all that.  It is my favorite day to go to bed early.  Nothing is more rewarding then fresh bed sheets...........love it!

Well I think I best get at least two more auctions posted before Tommy wakes up.   A little extra money for Christmas.  Have a great day!

    HOLIDAYS TODAY............

11– Veterans Day  -  United States

This day was formerly known as Armistice Day and honors all those who have served in all the country’s wars.

    11– Remembrance Day  -  Canada

This day honors soldiers who have died in war.  Remembrance services are held, and many observers wear poppies as a symbol of the day.

    11– Independence Day  -  Poland

This day celebrates the re-creation of the state of Poland.  Formed in the early ninth century, the country was subject to partitioning by Prussia, Austria, and Russia during the mid-1700s.  On November 11, 1918, at the end of World War I, Poland declared itself an independent republic, yet fell under communist Russia in 1944.  Poland’s independence was restored after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989.

11– Birthday of Baha’u’llah  -  begins at sundown

  • Just a quick hello before heading to bed.  Tommy seems to be feeling a bit better today, but is very clingy and whiny still.  I just put him to bed a few minutes ago.   I just confirmed with the older two boys what homework they have.  Josh has a project he has to work on.  He needs to have 4 note cards and 4 sources done by Monday.  Hmm...did he bring any books home???  Of course not, he said he will just use the Internet!  Had I know this I would have took him to the library today!  Argh!!!

I looked through Erik's book bag and he has a project about a book.  He had a number of the worksheets returned to him as he did so poorly on them.  So I am gonna head to bed and quickly read the book.  It is only 58 pages and large print!  That way I will have a bit of an idea of what he should be doing.   Thank goodness it is a quick read!

So I think tomorrow after church will be homework time for my two oldest boys!  Hopefully nap time for Tommy!

We did have a bonfire tonight.  I took Tommy out to it for a while, but he kept trying to walk at the fire pit.  It was too difficult so I brought him in.  Josh and I played Scattergories (I beat his butt) until Tommy got really mad about not being able to have the pencil.  Woo Hoo...he is getting a little temper!

Well off to read my Fort Graders book, "Sarah, Plain and Tall."

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

  • I am finally feeling a bit better.  I have been awake since about 4:00pm.   We have had a very nice evening.   Nick, my nephew came over in time for supper, which he ate very well!   He was extremely excited to watch Spiderman.  He is so funny he told me the rules for movies is you have to watch quietly.  LOL!!  If I ever tell him anything he remembers the rule for ever!  He watched very quietly and enjoyed the movie.  After watching the movie it was time to quickly cut his hair.  I am the only one he lets cut his hair, then he get s a secret snack from my bedroom.  Hubby hids candy in there...LOL!!!   He did pretty well with his hair cut, but seemed to have more difficulty with the tickling on his neck.  he can be pretty tactile defensive.  But I jsut have him count and see how fast I can do a side of his neck.  That sort of helps.  After that he needed a shower to get the loose hair off, or it would drive him nuts!  He is now tucked in bed with my sons.  He does well at our house.  At his house he would still be up and running around at this time.  But he knows at my house kids have to go to bed at 9:00 and he doesn't fuss about it....it is just a rule here.

Tommy isn't feeling very well today either.  He took to very long naps and wanted to go to bed early.   He is pretty cranky and was feeling a bit warm.  I gave him some Motrin and put him to bed.

Now I am up, and not very tired since i have slept most of the day.  I suppose I will just crawl in bed and read for a while or cross stitch.

Tomorrow I hope to leave the house and run some errands.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • I have slept most of the day away.  I am so very tired.  I did get up for about and hour around 10:00 am and I put supper in the crockpot, CHeddar Scalloped Potatoes and Ham.   I took about a 4 hour afternoon nap as well.  I am not feeling much better yet

Tonight my nephew, Nick is staying overnight.  His sister is having a sleep over for her birthday and Nick has been getting more aggressive to the other children.  He usually does fine with my children.  Nick has austim and constantly talks about off things, his sisters friends get tired of his constant talking and bugging them.  If anyone laughs at him he become aggressive to them.   He should be over shortly.  He does very well at our house.  But we have family movie night planned for tonight and that might not work so well.  Nick will wander in the living room  while we are watching it, but I have a feeling it won't hold his interest so he will talk to himself and wander the entire time.  It is hard to watch a movie with him at times.  Sleeping he does fine, he usually ends up crawling in bed with Erik and Erik doesn't mind that.  Supper, hmmm....not sure he will eat the scalloped potatoes or not.  I will make corn too, that is his favorite!   Generally he is a pretty easy kid to care for, he likes the structure and rules of our house.

I think that is about it for now....I am off to look after supper.  Later!

  • I called the clinic to make an appointment for tomorrow, but my Dr wasn't going to be in tomorrow.  Therefore, she saw me today.  She said I have a wheeze cough but my lungs seem to sound ok.   I am asthmatic so this is always a concern.   She said this one doesn't seem as bad as last year.  So she gave me antibiotics and no steroids!!  YEAH!!  If I don't get better on the antibiotics, I have to go back to have some steroids for my breathing.  So far I am not feeling any better, but hopefully by tomorrow I will be.   I hope to go to work tomorrow, so i am off to bed to curl up with my book for a bit.  NIGHT!!!

  • I'm whiny today...............I went to work for unit meeting this morning.  After until meeting I was still feeling terrible so I came home.  I have just been freezing.  I curled up in the electric blanket and took a nap for about 3 hours.  I went to bed last night very early as well.

If I wake up sick again tomorrow I might end up going in for antibiotics, as it is a sinus infection.  My asthma is making itself known as well.   I just hate being sick, I finally am pretty caught up at work and home.  One day of not taking care of things at either places seems to put me like a week behind it feels.  ARGH!!!

Hubby just went to pick up Tommy from daycare, I think I will go lay down until he gets back.  Then hubby has to go pick up Erik for visitation.  He is coming a day early since he doesn't have school tomorrow.
