Month: November 2002

  • Morning....the election results are finally in this morning for the senate and governor race here in MN.  The race for the senate seat was very close and had to be hand counted.  But I am glad we won't be seeing any more ads until the next election.

I have my entryway all done.  I will have to try and take a picutre of it with the video camera to show you.  Here is the entryway before.....

You can't see it very well on this picture, but around the steps the paneling was damaged by water, etc and was discolored.  I am all done painting, did two coats last night.  I will remove the tape today and hopefully that a picture.

And as long as I am sharing pictures, I might as well share two from Tommy's 1st Birthday.

Well, I am off to work after I package my half.com bought that I sold.  It is a late night at work for me tonight. I will have to show up at church late and meet hubby and Tommy there.

    HOLIDAY TODAY..........

    Ramadan - Islamic

This is the ninth and holiest month of the Islamic year, traditionally begins with the sighting of the new moon. This time of spiritual and physical purification commemorates the revelation of the Quran to Muhammad on Lailat Ul-Qadr. Fasting during this month is one of the five fundamental religious duties of Islam. The fast ends when the new moon is again sighted.

  • Busy day at work today.  Once I got home I got busy painting the entry way.  Hubby helped since we wanted to get two coats on tonight.   WHEW!!!   I jsut finished up the last coat and I am tired!!  I don't think I will stay up and watch the election coverage since it will be a very late night.  Due to Sen. Wellstone's death, there was a supplemental ballot which has to be hand counted.  That will take a long time!!  I can wait till morning to hear the news.

I am off to bed.  I hope everyone had a great day!

  • EVENING........just a quick check in before heading to bed.  It has been a very busy and productive day.

When I got home from work, Tommy was napping.  So I tried to quickly do my one hour of cleaning for the week.  I think it was Mscaffeineaddict that asked how I do all I do....the answer is simple.  I have help, hubby and older son.     Of the items on the list for tonight, hubby actually did change the sheets and Joshua always does all the trashes on Monday.  Also everyone knows that after work on Mondays is cleaning time and sort of try to help out, etc...or at least have Tommy down for his nap.  Also my hubby usually has supper done and waiting for me when I get home.  So I can accomplish a lot due to the support and help of the rest of my family.  They aren't always great about this, but usually help some!

Tomorrow should be busy I need to be at the Dr's at 9:15 and I need to find time to go and vote either before or after work.  I am off to relax in bed and read............................

  • Afternoon check in.....Tommy just went down for this second nap of the day.  DUring his first nap, I made a huge pot of soup and primed the entryway.  I will need to buy some paint soon and get the entryway all done.  I think it will look very nice.  I did take a before picture so I will show ya my project all done.

I ma off to complete more chores on my list.  Kitchen stuff, cut up the last ham and wash dishes I suppose.  That will be about all I can get done before Tommy is up again!

  • Morning!  I slept well last night so I hope to accomplish a lot again today.  I feel like I am almost catching up on everything.  I had just been busy and not doing stuff.  I need to get my painting done since it is suppose to be nicer the next few days so I can open the windows.  Before you know it will be winter and time to plastic all our windows up.

I am going to try to wash dished before I take my shower and get ready for Church.  I am giving up on keeping Tommy in the sanctuary with us for church and he will be in the nursery.

The other day my neighbor brought over two flats of apples.  They are the sweetest apples I have ever tasted.  I am going to make some apple sauce with them.  We are truly blessed by neighbor who is a food manager for a large food company and he gets all these samples from company's to try their product.  He brings us a lot of meat and things.  We have certainly been taken care of in the lean time while my hubby looks for a job.  These blessing unexpectantly come our way and help immensely.  A co-worker gave me a pair of snow pants for Tommy.  We are so thankful for every ones kindness.

  • I actually have accomplished a lot today considering I went out last night to a party so late!  We were up early and I showered and dressed the baby.   When Paul put Tommy down for his late morning nap I ran to the bank and library.   WHen I got home Josh was jsut getting picked up my ex for the weekend.  Josh had been sleeping up until then.  He was soooo tired!

During the rest of Tommy's nap I cleaned the living really well.  I swept under all the furntiure and moved it.  I dusted everything.  I took the cushions out of both couches and vacuumed under them.  Washed the windows, etc.  I have only a couple more things to do in that room then it is all ready for the holidays.

Once Tommy woke up we ent to run some errands.  Went to Sam's to get a couple of things.  Then picked up things from the mall, Old Navy, Half Price Books and Blockbuster.  Back home again to feed Tommy and put him down for a nap.  He isn't feeling very well today.  He has been running a slight temp and have a very runny nose.  Poor little guy!

DUring Tom's second nap, I went out to finish my errands.  I need to get Navy beans and paint rollers.  So I went to Menard's and the Grocery Store.  I have the beans soaking and will make a double batch of the Ham and Bean Soup tomorrow, since hubby liked it!  Then I prepared my entryway for painting.  I washed down all the walls and taped all the trim.  I plan on priming the walls tomorrow.  ANd painting sometime next week, or something.

Tommy woke up from his nap while I was taping the trim.  I spent the rest of the evening with Tom and hubby playing.  I am off to bed, I am actually pretty tired.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

  • Morning.  Hard to beleive i am actually awake already this morning.  I was up pretty late last night.  We got home for the B-day party around midnight, then we stayed up a few hours later.  I had helped my neighbor drink her bottle of Cuervo.  ARGH!!!  And had a couple of Barcardi Silvers.  But I woke up feeling pretty good at 8:00 this morning.  SO I think I will shower and get ready to run my errands.

It was really nice to get out last night.  It has been a while since we have gone anywhere.  Josh watched Tommy until 9:30 and went to the overnighter at church.  He now is totally sleeping on the couch.  My ex is coming to pick him up at !2:30, so I will have to wake him then.  LOL!!!  He didn't sleep at all last night!!  What is up with that!

Anne from down the street and her cousin watched Tommy.  I put him to bed and we check back here frequently.   Paul said the girls heard Tommy just whine a bit and had gone into his room so then he really got mad!   Paul rocked him again and laid him down.  He told the girls if he makes a little noise it is ok, don't go in his room.   He talks to himself to go to sleep.

Paul walked the girls home at midnight.  They did a fine job so I will probably have them watch him again sometime.   But of course most of the time I only have Josh watch him.

Well I am off to shower and get Tommy up for the day!!!

    TO DO THIS WEEKEND:

    Laundry
Vacuum under furniture in living room
Wipe down entry way to paint!

  • Time to call it a day and head home.  I love Fridays!!  I have my babysitters all lined up for tonight finally.   My son, Josh is watching Tommy from 7 till 9:30 and then a friends daughter will come over at 9:30 and watch Tommy until we are home.  josh is going to the overnighter at church.  I am comfortable with the girl from down the street watching Tommy since he will be sleepiing.  Josh will get him ready for bed and stuff.  SHe just has to be there to make sure he stays asleep and stuff.  Luckily we are only going to be right next door at my neighbors birthday party.   I can stop over and check on them frequently.

Which reminds me I have to run and pick up a bottle of Quervo for her gift.........Later!!!
