Month: January 2003

  • Argh....I dragged at work today.  I hope tonight I will be able to fall asleep quicker.  I have an early meeting tomorrow, so I am sure I will have to wake Tommy up.  I still haven't quite gotten a great routine down for getting us all out the door on time.  We are working on it.  This morning I left the house 20 minutes later than I had planned, hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Hubby submitted an application for a job today at the City of Oakdale.  Geez, I hope he at least gets an interview.  He is also going to an intake at Dolphin Temp Services, to see if they have some temp work for him.   I am desperate for him to get a job.  I'm not sure what he is.........

I got most of my list done tonight, I didn't clear off the Dining Room table...the never ending chore right up there with laundry.  I also didn't get to organize the plastics cupboard.   I did go through the baby cupboard and found a few items we are no longer using.  I will sell them on Ebay most likely.  I really have to get a few auctions up and running, extra money, good thing!

Time for me to hit the sack.  Hope everyone had a great Monday!  I will figure out a list in the morning........later!

  • The weekend has come to an end.  BOO HOO!!  I have to work a full week this week, back to our regular routines.  Argh...I don't really look forward to it and I am having a bit of trouble getting back into our routine.

It was a pretty relaxed day again.  Tommy and I caught up on our sleep by having our naps.  He seems to be feeling a better.  He was actually being naughty tonight.  We have a little slide in our living room and he was trying to walk down it.  ARGH!!  I would say "sit down" and he would say "sit" and continue to try to walk down the slide.   ARGH!!  Then when he was done going down the slide he would walk back to the steps to go again and saying "sit, Sit"...LOL!!   he is a great repeater, but not listener!!!  He also learned a new trick today.  He can throw you a kiss!!  LOL!!  It is cute I will have to try to get it on video!

Trouble with naps is that I am not very sleepy right now.  ARGH!!  I cleaned some in the kitchen tonight, I wiped down the small appliances, microwave, fridge, stove and sink.  All caught up on dishes and laundry.  A good way to start the week!   Everything is ready for the morning and I managed to make a loaf of oat banana chip bread with some over ripe bananas as well.

Tomorrow is my cleaning day....so I should scoot, have to wash my face and get ready for bed.  Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend.  Have a great week!

  • Morning......I was right I wasn't going to go to sleep last night until I finished my book.  I finished my book and what happened, Tommy woke up screaming at 2:00am.  I got him up fed him a bottle, but he still wouldn't be consoled.  I rocked him for a bit and finally just layed him back down.  He went to sleep for a few more hours.  Argh...must be an ear infection.   So I called Urgent care this morning and got him right in when they opened.  I was right he has an ear infection again.  ARGH!!!   He is on antibiotics so hopefully he will sleep better tonight, poor little guy!!

I actually think I am going to do a few chores and then take a nap myself for a bit.  Erik is doing his homework right now.  Josh is  going to set up his new CD burner he bought for his computer.  Tommy is napping........AAH!!!!

  • I did take a bit of a nap and also read a bit before falling asleep.  When I woke up I make the ribs in the pressure cooker.  WAY COOL!!   They were the most tender ribs I have ever made and they only took 15 minutes to cook.   They were actually tender enough for Tommy to eat,  I hope to find some more recipes for the pressure cooker.  I want to use it regularly.

After supper we watch Roger Rabbit and relaxed a bit.  Then Erik made Icee's with his Icee machine he got for Christmas.  Surpisingly, it actually made half way decent Icees.  We made Coke ones tonight, tomorrow Erik wants to make some out of Code Red.    He also wants to try his Hershey's Chocolate Magic Molding Kit, that he bought today at Target.  Other than that it is a rather quiet weekend, just how I like them.

I am heading to bed again and reading for a while.  I am almost done with this book too and the ending is fairly exciting.  I am sure I won't go to sleep until I finish it!

  • Errands are all done and I haven't wanted to kill anyway, YET!! LOL!!   taking Erik shopping is always fun, he has money but wants to buy something, but doesn't have anything in particular that he wants.  But this time he actually did ok, and did have an idea he wanted to buy.  He used his money to buy a chocolate candy making machine on clearance at Target and a Room light for his Room.  He is saving the rest of his money.

I also found a good deal on clearance at Target.  I bought a new pressure cooker.  I had one from a garage sale but wasn't sure how to use it.  This one is new so it has directions ,etc.  So I am going to make ribs in it tonight.  I will let you know how we like it!

Since I slept so terribly last night, I am going to bed and read for a bit and maybe nap a tad.   The ribs only take 15 minutes to cook in the pressure cooker, so that will be easy enough.  Later!

  • ARgh....I first woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up and went in the living room to read.  Then I fell asleep on the couch.   I woke at 8:30 when hubby got up.  Good think I have a good book to read.  I am really enjoying this book, "Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind".  I might just get this book done this weekend depending on what else I need to do.

I do have to run to Target today and hubby wants me to get groceries, but I don't think we really need any, we will see.   I suppose I should come up with a plan for today, though I really don't feel much like doing it!

Going back to work was difficult yesterday, I found I had trouble concentrating and keep on task.   I did complete most of my tasks on my list for work, but just didn't do as smooth as I had hoped.   I made it through all my mail and email and returned 1/2 of my voice messages.  So things are started.   It was wise to only work on day this week.  I got things sort of organized and next week I can really start to work.

    Alright onto that list.............hmmmmmmmmmm

  • I am off to bed later than planned tonight...but everything is in order around here and ready for me to return to work.  YUCK!!  Oh well I just have to work one day and then I have the weekend off...that is sort of nice.

I have everything ready for the morning and have done my evening routine.  Dishes are done, laundry put away and clothes layed out for the morning.   I checked my work voice mail, only 14 messages, WOW..that is so very good!   I should be able to resolve all those tomorrow!   My clients were good to me!

Tommy has ECFE (early childhood family education) in the morning, then I will drop him off at daycare and head to work.   Daddy can't come to Tommy's school with him anymore since he is doing his internship.   My job is flexible enough that I plan on continuing to take Tommy to school.  We signed up for the next semester, we will see if we get in or not next week.

One wonderful thing that happened on my vacation.  My baby says MAMA a lot more.  He always would say DADA and look for him.  But now that I have been home with him he says MAMA and actually looks for me.   When I tell him no and redirect him away from like the VCR he says, "no, Mama, No"  ....LOL!!  It cracks me up...he regularly says NO and Don't to us...  I am glad I stayed home on this vacation it was so wonderful.  I plan on doing it again next year I think!

I am ready for the new year, but do have to think about my goals for the year.....I am still milling them around.  I will make my to do list in the morning, I have to head off to bed now and read!!!

  • I need to make a list and get my day going here.  ARGH!!  I went to Eagles Nest Indoor Playground this morning with my SIL and her youngest.  Tommy had a great time.  We got home and I fed both kids lunch and Tommy is down for his nap and my neice just went home for hers.  So now it is time to get busy!!!   I have to return to work tomorrow.

    TO DO WEDNESDAY:

    Dishes
    Laundry
    Update Calendars
Make Dr. Appoints for Tommy and Me
    Check my work Voice Mail
    Check my Work Email
Complete Evening Routine and get ready for work tomorrow!

  • Good Night, xangaland.........I am turning in early tonight.  I was going to return to work tomorrow, but my SIL wants to take the toddlers to the Eagle's Nest an indoor playground as the other children return to school tomorrow. So I will be taking one last day 1/2 off.   I will check my work email and voice mail tomorrow from home and get caught up a bit.   That should take a few hours!

Friday I will return to the office.  I feel relaxed and ready to return to work, but I didn't get as many projects done as I wanted, but relaxation was so good for me.   I was able to read a couple of books and had great fun with my kids.  And I am cought up on laundry!!  WOO HOO!!!

I am off to turn in and read my book for a bit.  NIGHT ALL!

  • Just spent Tommy's nap time finishing my book.  It was pretty good.  I actually read that the author Cassandra King is married to Pat Conroy.  That was finny since the the book before this I listened to Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy!

I enjoyed The Sunday Wife!   I will have to read her first book as well.  It earns 4 out of 5 stars from me.
