Month: April 2003

  • I am still not getting much done on my todo list!  OH well...it will all be there tomorrow.  I am doing very well at work and getting a ton of work completed.  I must be expending all my energy at work.

Yesterdy was a nice day.  I got home early and was able to run to the bank and run to the bank and get my hair cut.  WOO HOO!!  I came home and after supper hubby and I took Tommy for a nice walk.  Tommy didn't want to go in the stroller, but walk himself do the walk took forever.

Do you ever have those days when you are so thankful and amazed by the gift of your children??  That was my day yesterday.  I decided not to do my chores and spent the evening with my boys.   Hubby and I took Tommy for the walk.  Tommy is forver discovering new things.  He heard a noise and it took him a while to find where it ws coming from, but then he learned a new word.  WOOF WOOF.............Doggie!  Tommy even got to pet the doggie who was bigger than Tommy.  The Doggie licked Tommy's hands and he laughed and laughed.   Then while walking Tommy discovered a big stick.  He was carrying the stick and hitting everything with it, including mommy's butt!  LOL!!  He thought that was so funny!  Finally we made it around the block and returned home.  The end of Tommy's day of discovery!  I love sharing all these disoveries with tommy.   YOu have to really slow your life down to enjoy every little tiny discovery.  Tonight when we came home there was a baby bunny in the yard.  Tommy and I walked as close as we could to it.  Tommy really couldn't see the bunny until it started to hop.  Then he wanted to catch it!  He is so funny!!

The rest of last night was spend with my big boy.  It is not often my oldest wants to hang out with me.  We snuggled on the couched and watched the Cher Special concert.  LOL!!  He loves the special effects.  I am hoping to take Josh to a concert for his "golden birthday" next month.  We will see if I find one that is appropriate enough.  So my chores went undone as I can't miss those moments with my boys, before i know it Josh will be leaving for college.  Only a little over three years left.  I can still remember his first steps like it was yesterday.  He had one this little baseball outfit, white with blue pin stripes.  He was in my parents back yard and it was the day before his 1st birthday.  It seems like only yesterday.  Hard to believe that was nearly 14 years ago.  I find myself being very cling to my memories of Josh's babyhood.  I am having a nard time with him getting older and nearing his sophmore year in school.

There are still so many things I want to do with him.  I want to take all three boys to Florida on one last family trip.  I want to take Josh to a rock concert.  I have taken Josh on his first plane ride two years ago, that was fun!  Enjoy those baby's before you know it they will be driving your CAR!!!  WOW!! Who would have thought!  Just as I watch Tommy discover new things...I am helping Josh to discover new things about the adult world, learn about credit card, banking accounts, car insurance.  I want him to be prepared when going out on his own.

Well enough about how much I enjoy being with my boys *smirk but that was my day!   I also sold one of my books on half.com so I was able to order the next one my book group is reading.  It arrived in the mail today!  YEAH!! I plan to go to bed early and start it.  I have been in a bit of a reading funk the last few days.  I think I have been just too tired.

Today was good...we had families first and discussed our children saying thins to others that might hurt them and how to handle it.  We also talked about decreasing sibling fighting.  It was a very nice discussion.  When we went back to the kids room, I could smell Tommy...ARgh....quick diaper change before heading home for a bath!!!

Well tonight I coped half way through my post...only lost a part of it!!   It was only my comments section to you all!! I will comment to you tomorrow!

  • Now I am really off to bed.  I just updated my Books Read in March page.  My reading has slowed down, but then again Middlesex is a pretty long book

  • ARgh... I hate xanga.  I just wrote a long post....selected copy before I started the spell checker and now it is gone!!  Eaten by the xanga gods.  I am debating, do I try to recreate it all or blow it all off.  Sorry to say at this hour I will have to do it another day!  And man...it was great! *smirk.  It is just too frustrating sometimes!   I had a great evening with my children tonight, I might share tomorrow!!  Have a great night!

  • I was able to get a few things done yesterday.  I needed to take Josh to the bank and Target right when I got home.  I spoke to Josh's bio father last night and he even returned my phone call.  I have not spoke to him in a number of years.  Having trouble with child support, he will call and get it straightened out.  I came home early yesterday to make a few phone calls, which I was able to do.

I bought all my greeting cards for the next three months.  Before bed I sat and addressed all the envelopes and signed the cards.  I love the Dollar store....50 cents a card!  NOw all I have to do is remember to mail them.

I have a number of appointments today, so  I best get going and ge to work.  I am still waking up so very tired!  ARGH....must still be the time change.

  • What a lousy night of sleep.  ARGH!!  I had a nightmare at about midnight and hubby sneezed off and on the rest of the night.  So I am sure dragging this morning.  I think I will only go in to work for a bit and finish up a couple of things then come home and take a nap!   Tommy is still sleeping, I hate to wake him just for daycare.  I think I will have hubby take him to daycare a bit later.  He's a tired little boy.

Sunday was pretty lazy around here.  After Church we went to visit my New Mommy I am working with at church.  She had a beautiful little girl.  Natalie Jean.  We bought her a couple of gift and three frozen meals.  After that we came home and Tommy and I went to our neighbors to take their mail to them.  They just returned from there house in Florida.  Tommy was running all over their house.  He was hugging them, it was funny.  They brought him a Winnie the Pooh ball back, he was liking that.  Harvey was letting him throw it in their house, I was sure he was going to break a knick knack.  After all our visiting we took the van to Sam's to get new tires on the front, since one was leaking daily and needing to be filled.  now the van is all ready for my trip to Red Wing on Friday and Duluth on Monday.  Busy week......

Sunday afternoon hubby and I watched the movie Unfaithful while Tommy took his nap.  The rest of the evening was pretty mellow. I went to bed early and watched Katie Couric's interview with the Central Park Jogger.

Well hubby just got Tommy up for the day so I better get ready for work.  I have a few things I have to complete this morning then I can come home.   I have about 6 hours of comp-time to use.

Frejaluna - Hey Jodi!   The 85 mile garage sale sounds great!!  Actually my hubby loves to go to garage sales!   There is a all city one coming up in Woodbury, MN.  It is funny people come in buses full of people.  It is a big thing.  We usually try to go to that one.   I don't live near Red Wing.  Wish I did.  I live in the north suburbs of St Paul.   I do go to Red Wing for work a couple times a year.   I am going there this month.  I was going to ask you, what were you going to mention as a possible diagnoses if I had leg cramps too???  Just curious!  Have a great weekend!

FLYmom - Welcome to my Blog!!  I just love your webpage.  I have been surfing through it.  We have a lot of similar interests.  You have read a lot more book than I this year so far!  WHOA!!!  I am still making it through your site, a lot of great links to visit!  Great Meeting you!  BTW - I can't place the song on your site, who is it??  It is right on the tip of my tongue!  Love it!  I was really excited to see all the OAMC links you have!  I love OAMC!!  So pull me up a comfy chair I will try to finish visiting this weekend!

I hear my baby beginning to wake up, I better jump into the shower and get my day start!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!

  • Great day at work....a lot accomplished.  That always makes me feel great.  Have not accomplished much at home.  OH well...can't have everything.   LOL!!

Today we had freezing rain here in MN, so should be a lovely drive to work tomorrow morning.  Hubby was nice this evening and gave Tommy his bath, which he rarely does.  I just vegged a bit, I put a book of mine up for sale on half.com and bought the book my book group is reading.  I am way too far down on the list at the library.  I will just turn around and sell it again.  No big deal!!

I messed around on my blog for a bit tonight.  I had to finally get rid of the St Pats decor before I puke.  It was a constant reminder of my lack of time to change it!  I needed a change!

I also discovered an interesting blog via ilovebakedgoods site.  Jomaha's is a soldier stationed in Saudia Arbia.  Very interesting blog.

Well I am up way past my bedtime.  I should call it a night.  I can't wait for the weekend.  If the roads are terrible icy tomorrow I think I will be staying home.   A three day weekend never hurt anyone *smirk

  • I am so glad I decided to use this week to get caught up on paperwork at my work.   Today was very productive for me.  I took care of my entire pile of today stuff, except for one renewal for SSI I need to complete for a client.  But it isn't due until the 14th of this month.  That is good for me, usually I am calling social security asking for an extension.  LOL!!!

After I complete the renewal for SSI, I will be conquering my service plans to write.  I really don't have many to get caught up with.  It is my hope that by Monday I will be all caught up and this actually seems feasible at this moment!   What a great feeling.

I actually had to play a little game with myself to get my stuff done today.  I started at the top of the pile and wouldn't let myself get pulled to another task until I finished the top one.   It keep me from putting less desirable paperwork to the bottom of the pile...I had to do them!  I think I will do the same thing for service plans tomorrow.  Start at the top of the pile and keep going.  My desk is nice, clean and organized, but that will only last a week tops!!  As I get overworked or stressed at work, my desk goes to hell.

I did hear from the Dr today.   They were suppose to call me back with my lab results, but I didn't hear from her.  I will have to try and call tomorrow.  I am not having many chest pains tonight at all and my pulse seems to be lower.  The only difference is that I have eaten about 5 to 6 servings of potassium rich foods today, throughout the day.   I think that might be the trick.

I am off to update my checkbook and curl up in bed with my book.  Have a great night!!!!!

  • Tuesday evening...I accomplished nothing.   I didn't feel well after supper so I rested on the couch until about 9:00 than I went to bed.  Exciting, eh!   My heart seemed to be beating a bit fast again, about 104 when resting.  Argh...this is so fun, NOT!!!  Hopefully the Dr calls today and tells me what the plan is.

I am going to work this morning.  I have been trying to get all caught up on paperwork there.  I have not scheduled a single appointment with cleints this week.   I can finally sit at my desk and see the bottom.  I still have a pile of stuff to do, but I am making progress.   I need to be all caught up as it seems some of us will be pulled to work in Child Protection as they are down 10 social workers and we are on a hiring freeze.  I have never done child protection and have no desire what so ever to do it....but seems I might have no choice as there are not 10 social workers below me in seniority.  I am really good at what I do right now...I dont' want to learn the laws  for child protection and I don't want to remove kids or be in court that much.  ARGH!!!   Our section manager will be back from vaction soon and he will make the decisions.

Frejaluna - no I have not been having any leg cramps.  I did get them when I was pregnant due to calcium problems...but none now.  Thanks for your concern and your frequent visits to my site.

  • Saw the Dr today...actually he was the Dr that discharged me from the hospital.  He of course siad "this is very interesting".  Which I am finding means, I have no idea what is wrong.  ARGH!!  He drew blood to check my potassium, Magnesium, sodium and blood sugar.  He will call me tomorrow to let me know now we should proceed.

I asked him to check my past potassium levels as I was curiious as to what they have been.   At time of discharge from the hopsital it was 4.3.  One week after discharge, 3.4.   Just this last week my level was 3.3.  I don't know about what you think, but I see a downward trend.   We will see what it is tomorrow.

Got to go baby is crying...
