Month: November 2003

  • The evening is coming to a close and I need to get ready for work tomorrow. I am not ready to head back to work that is for sure. Oh well...I know I will be very busy tomorrow. Hubby and I will be going to EFCE with Tommy in the morning, then it is off to work for me. Hubby has the day off and said he would do dishes for me....what a sweetie!

I got some of my cleaning done tonight. I cleaned Tom's bedroom and I cleaned the bathroom while Tommy took a bath. I only have the kitchen floors to scrub tomorrow and my weekly cleaning it done. YEAH!

I am off to pack my lunch and bag for work and head to bed. Night All! Have a great Monday!

  • Hello...just taking a quick break to stop in and chat. Not much to report actually. I have spent my afternoon doing laundry, completing the rebates for the computer stuff hubby bought this weekend and putting away clean clothes. I cleaned and vacuumed Tommy's bedroom and changed his sheets. I changed our bed as well and went through my shoes and threw out a few more pairs that really aren't in good enough condition to take up space in my closet.

OH...today they announced in church about the youth mission trip this year. They will have hand outs next Sunday with all the details. It sounds like Josh would like to go again. This year they are going to Juarez, Mexico, June 19 - 27th. They will be painting houses and other odd jobs. It is with the same group again, Youth WOrks. I hope this is about the same cost. The last trip was expensive, but the experience for him is amazing so well worth it. My son will leave the country before I ever do.

Time for me to go give Tommy a bath and get his diaper bag ready for tomorrow. Later!

  • Hello - How is everyone doing? Tommy is finally down for a nap, I am going to work some more on catching up on laundry. Hubby got home from work early yesterday, so I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. He wanted to go shopping for some computer stuff when he got home, so off we went. Once home we ate Thanksgiving leftovers, tonight I think I will make Turkey Tetazzini with the last of the turkey. I already made 2 Thanksgivng in a Pan and they are in the freezer for another day.

We watched the movie The Story of David Gale last night, it was a very good movie. After that it was off to bed. We usually don't stay up very late. This morning was church and that is about it. The rest of the day we are just staying home and getting caught up on things around the house.

I talked to my sister last night and she had said she bought her protein mix at Walmart, but I couldn't find it. Everything there was soy based. I am allergic to soy so was looking for Whey based product. I did find some at the Health Food Store, so I am in business, so to speak. It doesn't even taste too bad.

Time for me to work on the laundry. Chat with you in a bit!

  • Today is get things done DAY!! I need to conquer huge pile of laundry. Tommy and I need to run to the library and Target as a gift that is on sale. I want to get the living room all cleaned up (pick up Tommy's Toys) and get ready to put up for Christmas Tree. I think Tommy will enjoy it very much!

I found a wonderful Advent activity site so I might talk to hubby and see if he would like to do that. YOu can check it out at http://homeschooled-kids.com/advent.html I found the link on Brown_eye_mom's blog.

Last night hubby got home and we measured the kitchen for a new fridge. Our current fridge does not open all the way due to the counter. SO I wanted to make sure the new fridge would open all the way. I have been saving up money for months for the new fridge and finally almost have enough money. We went and look and the fridge we wanted, a side by side with no ice or water was marked down 200.00. YEAH!! I have enough money then! We had to purchase the floor model which has a little scratch on the front, but hubby can fix it. It is the last one like that. But it is wider than our current fridge so we had to buy a smaller microwave too. But with the discount on the fridge I could swing a 80.00 microwave. Paid for it all in cash, no credit! YEAH!! It will be delivered on December 8th, we will have it for Christmas.. I can't wait! We really needed a new fridge our current one is 20 years old and the seal is no longer attached to the door. So now we have replaced all the major appliances, except for the stove and oven. THose will need to wait a few years as I need to have the cupboards redone to change the oven that is in our wall. I want a double oven as all you know I love to cook! We have a carpenter friend that will help revamp that.

Of course while we were in Best Buy, hubby looked at computers and was able to get a new tower. He is very excited. So that was his Thanksgving present. So I might be off line for a bit while he sets up his new computer and stuff. But I can always use the kids computer I guess.

Time to hit the shower and get going on this day!

  • AAAAH...Tommy is down for his nap. I have a few quiet moments before I go do dishes and look at the paper. LEt's see....today so far we returned the Rug Doctor after finishing our house and my in-laws. We did run into Sears to exchange a pair of shoes I bought for a larger size. Dumb move, it is the day after Thanksgiving. People are sure nuts to go shopping this day. I never venture into a store on the morning after Thanksgiving. No deal is good enough to get me there.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.............I am so excited to say I just wrote out my bills and I have NO credit card debt, not one penny! YEAH!! It sure have taken many years to get to this moment, but I am sure glad about it. I very rarely use a credit card anymore, unless it is to buy online (then I pay it off entirely) or an emergency car repair. Now I am planning on getting a updated credit report and I will be calling each of the cards that are still open and request that they be closed. We will only leave one joint cerdit card for emergency open. Now to just get those monsterous student loans paid off! At least the student loans and house are able to be claimed on our taxes.

I took the boys to each rent a movie for the day. Tommy rented the new Wiggles Movie. Josh rented Dumb and dumberer....and it was dumb! I rented...the story of David Gale or something like that. Hubby and I will watch it tonight together. We might even put up the tree tonight. I have to find my CHristmas music to play too!

Well Thanksgiving is over and I have maintained my weight loss, now to lose about another 5 before Christmas. AAAH....If I would just remember to eat regularly. I would do fine. With a few days off I will be able to get back on track before I head back to work. I did a dumb weight thing online and it says I am within my ideal weight. I think I must be on the higher end of my ideal weight. My endocrinologist gave me a weight to shoot for and it is the lower end my ideal. He said that is the best way to be proactive with diabetes, since I was diabetic with my last pregnancy. So a few more pounds to go! I need to start lifting weights again too. Maybe I will get my hubby and Josh to start lifting with me again too!

I think this weekend we need to go to my in-laws and fix their TV and then we are going to shop for a new fridge. Looks like I might even have enough money to get hubby the new computer he wants too! He is so spoiled. He said it should be for his either Thanksgiving or New Years present as we have a $50.00 limit on Christmas for each other. Previous years my hubby bought me some beautiful jewlery that was WELL over $50.00 so we made this rule! IT is sometimes hard to find the ideal, meaningful present for that amount, but fun! It used to be only $25.00 in previous years. That was a fun year, hubby made me this most romantic picture in poem in a seashell frame about our honeymoon on Sanibel Island. I can't wait to go back there....soon, very soon!

Well I best get something done around here. Have a great relaxing day! I am sure I have blabbed enough....catch ya all later!

  • Hey WisconsinMom - glad you like my recipes. I really enjoy cooking. The recipes on my site are only ones that I have made and the family likes!
You can find my Recipe Site on my personal website. I hope you find some more recipes your family will enjoy! I often add new ones! I am going to try your sweet potato casserole. Unfortunately only I like sweet potatoes in our famiy, but they sounded so good!

  • We had a very quiet and enjoyable Thanksgiving. We had our meal and jsut hung out for the evening. I did try Tommy in training pants, but he was wet almost every 15 minutes so I figure he doesn't have enough control yet, so we will try again next month.

Hubby has to work tomorrow. I will be home with the boys, not sure what we will be doing. I think I will try to get to the laundry and things. Well time to call it a night, off to read for a bit.

I worked on my recipe site a bit this afternoon. I will probably do that some more tomorrow as well. Later!

  • Argh....3:00am and I am awake. I just woke up and can't get back to sleep. I am not so happy about that. So I updated the look of my website for Thanksgivng. Now I think I will get a glass of milk and try to go back to sleep.

I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful Thanksgiving with their families!

  • Joshua and I cleaned at grandma and grandpa's apartment today from 12:30 to 4:00. He did all the steam cleaning of the carpets. I washed the windows, dusted and wiped down every surface in the kitchen and bathroom. I need to go back and clean the oven, inside of fridge and microwave. I am saving that for another day! But it needs to get done. My MIL is very very tidy. You do not find an ounce of clutter in their apartment, she is just unable to do any cleaning. SHe has a hard time even pushing the vacuum.

After that we headed home for a very quick supper. WHile i made supper Josh used the Rug Doctor to clean his carpet in his room. The stains actually all came out! YEAH!! I put a way too light of carpet into the boys' room. OH well,...hindsight!

I didn't do much the rest of the night. I played animals and trains with Tommy and Daddy. Watched some Law & order with hubby. I did clean up the kitchen, mopped and did dishes. Tomorrow we are having a very quiet Thanksgiving at home. I will be cooking for just my family, rare for us!

Well it is nearly 11:00 and past my bedtime. I think I will wash my face and head to bed. I might even get a page or two read in my book. You never know!

I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for.

  • Josh and I are back from getting groceries. Now we are off to shampoo grandma and grandpa's carpets and clean their apartment for them. My MIL is having friends over to play royal rummy so she wants it all cleaned by then. Later!
