Month: December 2003

  • Tommy went to daycare this morning and I am conquering the paper mess in the office.  I went through my monthly expand a file and shredded everything from 2003 that I didn't need.  I organized payrool stub and medical receipts I needed to keep.   Now I will go through the shelf that has all the boys stuff and get that organized, after that the greetings card shelf.

Hubby and I went to the bank and added him onto my checking account, been meaning to do that for a bit.   Now time to get back to sorting all this paper.   I need to find a way to keep up on this!!

  • A friend mentioned in a comment, she can't belive Tommy still naps.  I think that is my problem!!  I think he needs to give up his naps so he will go to bed at a decent time at night and sleep through the night.  Momma needs a full nights sleep!!   He took a 1-1/2 hour nap today and didn't finally go to sleep until almost 11:00.  ARGH!! And he wakes up nightly at about 3:30am.

Needless to say I didn't do much else tonight since hubby was at work and Tommy wasn't about to go to sleep easily.

I did finish all my list, except for bathing the cats.  I need an extra set of hands to do that, which I didn't have tonight.  Hubby is at work and Josh went to a friends house until 10:30.

I am off to bed to read.  I hate going to bed alone, I have not had to do that in about 4 years.  Hubby hasn't worked nights in about that long.   I think I will read for a bit.......later!

  • Well I guess I won't be cleaning in the dining and living room.   Hubby is trying to take a nap so I am banned to the computer room...OH NO!!! LOL!!   I just dropped off my oldest boy and a friend at the mall.  They are going to the arcade for a bit and I will pick them up in two hours.  Tommy is still napping in my bedroom, so it looks like I will be in the office here and start sorting through my paper jungle!!  That could take a while!!

OH..yeah..BTW....I maintained my weight loss over the holidays!!  YEAH!!!  I didn't lose, but I didn't gain either!  I am very happy about that.  I will be getting back to my exercise routine and diet this week.

    TO DO SUNDAY:

    • Dust Living and Dining Room
    • Clean Living Room Closet
    • Clean Chandelier in the Dining Room
    • Bath Cats
    • Don't allow Molly (cat) to eat after 7:00, she has surgery tomorrow morning.

  • Home from church....have had lunch and a bit of a nap.  Tommy and I curled up in my bed and watched "the Lion King".  He feel asleep, so we will finish that movie some other time.   He is sleeping quietly in my bed, so I am going to get up and do a few things.   I suppose I should clean up the kitchen a bit and finish the living and dining room.

I will probably start on de-cluttering the office tonight as my hubby got called into work.  The person on the second shift called in sick so he will be working the night shift tonight.   I haven't been home alone at night in years.  My hubby used to work the night shift when I first moved here, but eventually was injured at that job.

My brother called today, always nice to hear from him.   I miss my family around the holidays, but prefer to not travel all over with the kids, especially Tommy.  Well I best get a few things done.  Check back later!

  • Slept ok...Tommy woke up at 3:30 am as always and I had to take him back to bed.   I didn't bring him into our room, I just tucked him back into his bed and stayed with him for a few minutes.   He went right back to sleep.  But I am still tired....slept in a bit so will have to hurry to make it to church on time.

Off to shower and get ready for church!  Later!!!

  • Boy am I tired.   I hope to head to bed here in a minute or so.   Tommy is still awake, but snuggling with Daddy in the living room.  I pretty much finished the dining room.  I took all the furniture out of the room and cleaned and treated the wood floors in there.   Everything is back in there.  I just have to do a bit of dusting and finishing clearing off the table.

Tomorrow is church, then a nap...then to my SIL's for B-day party.   I will also finish up the living room, closet and dining room.  Tomorrow I hope to have a relaxing day.  Monday I will start on the office I think.  I am sure the office will take two days or so.  It is a paper jungle!!!!  ARGH!!!

I am off to put my clean clothes away and head to bed!  Night!!!

  • Tommy is up and I have almost completed organizing the school shelf in our dining room.  I took all of Erik's home school stuff and packed it up.  So much of it was unused as he is less than cooperative at times with summer learning, plus he is slow at getting through work.  I will save the stuff for Tommy.  Now the shelf is full of things for Tommy to do, puzzles, stickers, coloring books and his games.  I need to clean off the dining table and vacuum and dust in there.  I still have a few more things that need to be gone through by the secretary.   It is an improvement and much needed space as Tommy's educational shelf in the living room was over full.  Tommy is the opposite of Erik we have to put his educational items up as he really enojoys them.

For now I think I will get a big glass of water and relax in the living room for a bit with the family.  Then back to the dining room for a while.

My SIL might come over tonight to get a few things and do laundry, so I would like to be done with the dining room by then.  Hubby has been a great help today, doing load after load of laundry while I organize the dining room.

  • I am off to start on my dining room.  Tommy is finally down for a nap sort of...he keeps opening and closing his door, so he really isn't in bed.   My day is off to a  fine start!

After breakfast and showers, Josh, Tommy and I headed off to Pier One and Wal-mart!  I went to look for new coasters for my living room at Pier One.  I didn't like amy of them so we headed to Wal-mart.  We needed to drop off some film (so you know you will be seeing more pics soon!!) replace our broken lamp, buy light bulbs and coasters.  All accomplished at a very small cost.  I do ahve to return the lamp as it doens't match our other ones.  I will have to try a different Wal-mart, maybe the one in Stillwater.

Then it was home to check the mail.  I received the new invoice for my car insurance and it was wrong so I had to spend some time on the phone with my agent.   He will check into it on Monday for me.  Then lunch for us.  Josh made Mac and Cheese for Tommy and himself.   I made a huge salad for hubby and I with leftover chicken breast.  YUMMY!!

Then we listened to our Wiggles tape (both sides) and danced around.  Tommy loves that!   We played with the Phonics Desk a bit since I finally bought some batteries.  Then it was nap time and time for Mommy to get busy on the dining room!  So that is where I am off to......the dining room!!   Get out of my way clutter.....I don't need you!!!

  • Saturday......

Morning, I love vacations!   I slept well last night, though Tommy woke up in the middle of the night.   I got up with him this morning and spent my waking time on the computer.  Now it will be time to shower and start my day.

Today I will be decluttering my dining room and educational area.   It will be an all day event I am sure.  Once done, that is all I will do for the day.

My shoulders are sore this morning from cleaning and oiling the wood floors in the living room yesterday.   The wood floor is much smaller in the dining room.

I just read some flylady mail and LOVE the motto for 2004.  "Less is More in 2004!!"  I can live with that!!  I am working towards that as I declutter this week.   My hubby is sort of getting on board, he is such a packrat!

Time for me to start my day, shower and dress!  Later!  Have a great Day!

  • Christmas was lovely and relaxing.   Hubby fed my passion for cooking and bought me a lovely cookbook and huge electric griddle.  The boys all enjoyed their gifts very much.   Santa brought Erik and Joshua an electric scooter so they have been driving that all around.  Tommy enjoys his GEO trax train.

I have now taken our Christmas tree down and have begun the decluttering process of my house!  Man does it need it, plus now add all these gifts, etc.  I worked on the living room today.   I took everything out that didn't belong,  murphy soaped and lemon oiled the wood floors.   I rearrange the entire room.  I even tried to get control over Tommys toy corner.  I moved the blue chair out and Josh took it to his bedroom.  I moved the rocker from the nursery in to the living room.

I plan on working hard to do alot of decluttering and organizing this week.  I will start on the dining room tomorrow after I finish a few little things in the living room.  I want to start off the new year with a nice organized home.   The house has sort of gotten away from me, especially the office.   Goodwill will receive a huge load from me.

Erik went to his bio mother's today.  He will be returning for the weekend on Friday.  I hope to have the entire main floor done by then.   Hubby is off of work until Tuesday.  He is helping some here and there.

I am off to sit in my living room and enjoy the new found decluttered peace.   Then to bed............tomorrow...the dining room!!
