Month: March 2004

  • Hello -  What an amazingly busy day.   I got up around 7:30 and called the clnic to get Tommy in for a possible ear infection.   Tommy slept the night in bed with daddy as I am still sleeping on the couch.

I say my Dr at 9:30 and she prescribed me Percocet and Flexerill.  She said they would knock me out so I didn't take any until I was home.  At 10:30 Tommy say the Dr.  we figured we had been trick by him since he was very energetic in the Dr. office.  The dr looked at him and he had fluid in one ear and fluid and infection in the other.  So he was put on antibiotics, so hopefully he will slep better tonight.  I wish I could ever tell that he had an ear infection.  Hedoesn't ever run an temperature.

We dropped him off at daycare and continued our busy day.  Next I had a dentist appointment to have my teeth checked.   The dentist said I might have a small chip in the front of my one tooth.  But otherwise there doesn't seem to be any damage or trauma to my teeth.   After the dentist we were off to the hospital to pick up my x-rays.  Then we went to the poclice station to pick up the police report.  The report states that the other driver stop for the stop sign and then proceeded as he didn't see me.  It stated he failed to yeild the right of way or something like that.

Then we headed to the personal injury lawyers office to sign a retainer.   He is taking care of everything related to my injuries in the accident.  My hubby is talking with the insurance co about getting my truck , car seat and CD-player replaced.

After the lawyer's we went to the chiropractor's office.   She looked at my neck and said it was too straight.   I have whiplash and muscles problems I guess.   She did a small adjustment which was very painful.   Everytime she touched my it hurt so much.  the muscles are very tight and nothing much moved.   I am returning to the chiropractor on Wed and Thursday.   I am not sure for how long I will be seeing the Dr three times a week.   If it will make me feel better I certainly will be going.  Today certainly didn't make anything feel any better.

After the Chiro my hubby returned me home so I could lay down.   I took one of the percocet and one flexerril and I literally passed out for 4 hours.   I could not become consious at all.  I think  I will only be taking 1/2 of the flexerril in the future. WOW...I can't be that out of it.  I have kids and family to take care of.   I will be taking it to sleep I think though.  I woke up around 9:00 this evening and am now watching a movie (cold Creek Manor) with hubby and son.

Tomorrow I hope to go into my office to pick up some work to complete at home the rest of the week.   I think it wil be easiest for me to work from home so I can take the muscle relaxants as needed.  Tommy will need to be in daycare as I can't lift him or anything.  I will be able to have Josh drive with me to pick him up and he can put him into the carseat.

I think that is about it new for right now.   Hope everyone had a great Monday.

  • Well I am having a bit of trouble falling alseep tonight.  Tommy has been up twice crying already and it is only midnight.  I think he has an ear infection as he says "ear hurt".   So I will have to try to get him into the Dr in the morning as well as myself.  I hope we can make it until morning as I don't think I can handle going to the Er tonight with him.  Hubby won't take him alone either. So hopefully he makes it through the night, then tomorrow  I will have to have my hubby go with me to the clinic as I can't pick him up at all.  It hurts so bad to lift him.  I am still sleeping on the couch as our bed is too firm and hurts to lay on.   Today is the worse day I have had with muscle spasms.   Tomorrow I will be going to the Dr, Dentist and Chiropractor.   We also have to pick up the police report.  We will be talking to a personal injury lawyer as well.

I wish this was all done already.   It was an ok weekend, though all I did was dictate from the couch.  Argh...I am goign to try to sleep.  Later!

  • FAREWELL TO MY NEW TRUCK

Glass was even stuck into the steering wheel.

I now know where all the glass in my mouth came from.

See where my baby would have been sitting.  There is so much glass in his carseat.

  • Oh what a day.....I have never been more thankful in my life for the protection of my Lord.

I am getting ready to leave my house at 10:00am this morning.  I call my office to askthe receptionist to reserve a meeting room for me and tell her I will be at the office at 10:30.   I head out and head to work, two blocks from our home a man runs a stop sign and hits the side of my blazer.   I begin spinning and nearly get my blazer onder control to start spinning the other way and eventually roll the vehicle completely over.   I land back on my wheels, spitting glass and chunks out of my mouth.   WOW!!  I swear the thoughts that ran through my mind as I was flipping.   I don't have my will finalized yet and I said a very quick prayer.

The vehicle came to a stop.   I was in shock I can't explain how surreal it all was.   A wtiness had seen the accident and stopped and called 911.  The sirens were coming.  The man who hit me and the witness stood by me holding my hands.   All I could say over over is "you had a stop sign".  As soon as the police came I was put on a backboard and collar and taken to the hospital by the ambulance.  Man did I hurt.

I was all checked out at the hospital.  I had a CAT Scan and Xrays of my neck and back.  Nothing is broken.  I have a huge lump on my head where the roof caved in on my head.   I got home about 1:00pm.   Hubby spent the afternoon on the phone with insurance company's and the police department.

The weird part was the police report hadn't been written since the officer that helped me collapsed about an hour after my accident and was in the hospital.  His partner was looking in this squad car to get the info for us, etc.  The written report will be available for us to pick up Monday afternoon.

I am very very sore.  I have to rotate between sitting, walking and laying down every few minutes.   But I am eternally thankful for my life and that my baby was not in the car at the time of the accident.   The place of impact was exactly where his carseat is.  His carseat is imbedded with glass.   I am so very thankful he was at daycare, safe and sound.  So I think it will be a very quiet evening around our house tonight.

Maybe my hubby will put up the pictures of my truck the police took.   I believe it is totalled.  Time to move around a bit more.   I am truly thankful for God's protection of me today.

  • Gee I guess I have had the New Year's Theme up long enough.  I think I will be changing my blog look this weekend.   Something Springy I think...though we still have snow and it is COLD today in the Twin Cities!

  • Hey everyone....how goes?   Busy evening again in our household.  I worked until almost 7:00 than came home had supper with the boys and my brother.   My brother came over to pick up the crib for my niece.  She is having a baby in September I think it is.   I am glad I was able to give Tom's crib to a family member.  I was sort of attached to it and didn't want a stranger sleeping in it.  LOL!!   I gave her all the bedding and everything.  Hard to believe she is having a baby.   Seem like not long ago I was changing her diaper.  AAAH.....but hopefully Tommy and her child will be able to know each other.

I did a load of laundry and gave Tommy a bath.   I skipped dishes tonight, but will have to do them tomorrow.  Today I ordered tickets for the Shrine Circus.  Tommy and I will be going to that.  I hope he likes it.  I am hoping to fall asleep a bit earlier tonight.  Last night I was up at 3:20am still. Argh....I did take some cough syrup tonight so that might help.

Hubby was at church most of the evening for a committee meeting.  He will be busy all weekend making flyers and things for upcoming events at church like Easter, etc.  I am also very excited that our church will be doing the Purpose Driven Life and having small groups for discussions and basing the weekly sermon on the book.  I will be purchasing the book for hubby, Josh and I.  We will be doing it together and might have a small group with our Wed, night group.  We will see.  I am looking forward to it a lot!  It will be nice to just share the devotions with hubby and oldest son.

Hubby is fast asleep next to me. I wonder if he is enjoying the clicking of my keys.  LOL...he is snoring so it must not be bothering him too much.

I think that is it for my exciting evening.  I was bad and ate some girl scout cookies tonight after doing so well all day   Argh..  I suppose I should try to get some sleep.

    Good Night!

  • Why is it the day you decide you will be good and stick to your diet, there is cookies and doughnuts everywhere!!!!!   ARGH!  I have been good,   I have nibbled on a bit of sugar-free candy, but that is it.  I still need to drink at least one more bottle of water or so.  This is so hard to do in my work place as we are so centered on FOOD!   Who would know that social workers liked to eat so much.  There are bowls of candy everyhwere you walk by.   Day one.....and struggling..........I am off to get a chunk of cheese for my snack.    I am trying very hard to eat at least three times today.

I had breakfast, salad for lunch and chunk of cheese for snack....1 diet mt dew, one bottle of water.

Give me strength!  I have to fit into my bridesmaid's dress for the first fitting in June.  It is one size smaller than I normally wear.

  • Very busy day at work and home.  I seem to have gotten a good handle on the paperwork on my desk at work.  I think tomorrow I should be pretty productive as I have a list going of what I need to get done.  I also am going to work a bit late tomorrow night.  My brother will be coming over to visit in the evening.  I look forward to seeing him again.   I will be home around 7:00 from work.

Josh was very helpful tonight and had supper made for me when I got home with Tommy from daycare.  We ate and headed off to church.   Church was interesting we discussed the The Passion of Christ as the group went to see it last Wednesday.  I haven't seen it yet since I was ill.

I am still struggling to sleep at night as you probably can tell since I am typing at this hour.  usually I am long alseep by now.   After we were home from church I updated our home calendar since I had updated my work one today.    Then it was time to work on our budget for the next two weeks and pay bills.  The flylady would be proud of me as I was able to pay a little beyond my minimums again this payperiod.  YEAH!  I am banging away at that debt.  We decided that we won't be having the electrician doing his things until we get one more debt paid off.  So I am working on that.  Hopefully we will have that done before Christmas.  We will see....we are just staying the course.

Joshua went to our church tonight and then went to another church with a friend for another service.  He is hoping to get out of school on Friday for the hockey tournaments, but I am unsure if I will be letting him go.  I will talk with his friends mom tomorrow and discuss it.  He will have to get make up work of course.   They would be going without adult supervision.  I am not too sure about that.   Hmmm........I know he is getting older, he is almost 16, but I am cautious.  I am not worried about him, he is a good kid and I trust him a great deal.

I suppose I should fold the load of clothes waiting for me and head to bed.  Hope everyone has a great day/night.
