Month: July 2004

  • The party went great!   Hubby said it was the best birthday he ever had!   Nearly everyone I invited came plus a few surprise visitors.  I was great fun!   The food was a hit and the kids LOVED all the reto things!   They did 70's makeovers all night.   The last guest went home at about 2 am.   My hubby is so fantastic, he really deserved this party.   I am very lucky to have such a devoted husband.

I am working hard to get things all caught up around home before my next party is upon us.  We help plan and organize the annual block party.  That means about 100 people in my front yard.   That is in August, so I am getting my house in order before the next huge committment.

  • It has been a very relaxing and enjoyable Saturday night!   This afternoon I took my mother home as she has been staying with us for the last week since our daycare is on vacation.   It was great to have her with us!  She got me all caught up on my laundry.  You gotta love that!   But it is nice to get back to our famly again.

When I got home from driving my mother to meet my father, I put cranky Tommy down for a nap.  Hubby and I also took a nap!   AAAH....then we got up and had a simply supper of fried egg sandwiches and went for a walk with Tommy.  Then hubby wanted to go to get a treat at Culvers.   After the treat Tommy needed a bath and got ready for bed.  Hubby is now watching the news, then we will curl up in bed and watch our last movie we rented, Butterfly Effect.   AAAAH...what a nice relaxing night!

Tomorrow I have to put away laundry and get caught up on my missions!    Later!!

  • Emilie’s Creative Home Organizer

    By Emilie Barnes

Yes, I am reading yet another home organization book.  LOL!!!  I thought I would share some of the passages/tips I have highlighted!!

    • Simplify and unclutter your life by saying no to good things and saving your yeses for the best things in life. Make Time for Yourself.  Stop go-go-go. Be a person of “being” rather than a person of “doing”.

    • Use the salami method to reach your goal:  If the size of your project overwhelms you, tackle it in a piece at a time.   (BABY STEPS)

    • Share your goals with people who really care about you and want to help you. (Michelles Self Improvement Group)

    • Studies show that the success rate for people who write down their goals is about 90 times greater than for those who don’t.

    • Use a notebook to keep track of all errands, things to do or buy, and general notes to yourself about anything that will require action.

    • List on paper then goals that you wish to attain by the end of the year and do them.

    • Keep a daily “To Do: list.   Make up a new one each morning and include taks you specifically hope to accomplish – deadlines and appointments, as well as items from you master list.  Give each task priority number – 1, 2, 3.  Do all the 1’s first
