Month: December 2004

  • We are home from one New years Party…..had a great time but had to leave early.   Erik was being dropped off and Josh was having friends over too.   We enjoyed our time with our friends though.   We played the game Apples to Apples and had some good laughs.   We picked up some chicken wings for the teens at our house and headed home.

We are home at the moment and getting ready to head to our second New Years Party at our neighbors house.   We will probably be heading over there in a few minutes and staying until midnight.   Since we will be right next door we can check on the teens and their party as well.   So the best of both worlds!

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2005!!!!

  • Argh……someone had posted on their blog a recipe for Bread Machine bread….it was cheddar something…….If you read this and you recently posted this recipe…could you please tell me!  I bought yeast and bread flour to try it and I can’t remember when I saw it!!!

  • Today was my day to sleep in….but I couldn’t sleep past 7:30 so I got up to enjoy the quiet time of the morning in our house.  The rest of my family will have no trouble sleeping until at least 10:00.   I have such a sinus headhache so that I am sure was waking me up.   Oh Well…..

Last night I was babysitting my neice and my SIL didn’t come to get her until midnight.  So I am sure Tommy will sleep in.   I was so tired…..I had them both in bed with me watching a movie and I kept falling asleep.

This morning I need to make my menu for the week and shopping list.  I have to remember to buy diapers too!   So this morning will consist of errands, the afternoon I want to get the Christmas Tree taken down.   Then at 6:00 we are going to our friends home to celebrate the New Year with them and out children.   I am looking forward to that,  I hope this headache is gone by them.

Josh is having his little get together here at 9:00.   Kyle’s mom is supplying pizza and I am getting wings and chips for them.   I am so blessed that my son likes our home so much that everyone hangs out here.  It is a huge piece of mind knowing where your teenager is, but also knowing he has friends and they are comfortable at your home.  I get to know all his friends very well too.   They are all really good kids.

I have the laundry going , and have had some breakfast so I guess it is time to finish my email and get the shopping lists done.  I think I will hit a few stores without hubby since he will not be up for a while.   Have a Happy New Year!  Be careful out there if you are driving!

  • I came home from work and paid my bills and did my budget.  It felt great to pay off all my bills owed and still doing ok.   I had some fun $ from last week left too so I diecided to go to JoAnne’s to look if the Santa I wanted before xmas was on clearance.  It was there and 70% off……YEAH!   So I bought him he was regularly $59.99 so I got him from $17 something.    I would never pay $59.99 for something like that!  But he is cute and looks nice in my entryway.  He is about 2 feet tall or so.

Well time to get some supper and finsh my bedtime routine.  Have a great evening!

  • MY work is done….I am going home and enjoying a well deserved 3-day weekend!!  WOO HOO!!

  • Yeah…last day of work!!  I am off tomorrow for a 3-day weekend.  YEAH!  We have finally figured out what we will be doing for New Years.  Since it looks like we are all healthy we will be going to our friends Russ and Kim’s house for a get together.  Then we will get home by 9:00 or so.  Josh wants to have a couple over to watch movies and junk.  I will only let him have a group of mixed gender friends over if we are home.  So we compromised and everyone gets to do something fun.    So hubby, Tommy and I get to spend time with friends and Josh also get to have a get together.  It should work out fine.  Erik will be dropped off sometime that evening since he is on vacation with is mom and her family.

Not much else going on…we are getting back to our normal routine of life.  That makes me feel so much better.  I really thrive on routine!   Well I best get some more work done….Later!

  • Hello – I think I can finally say I am on the mend!!  WOO HOO!!  I am starting to feel pretty good and breathing fairly well considering.  I am down to 40mg of predisone a day so hopefully this time I will actually be able to get off this medication and start losing the additional weight I have gained with the med!    I am only nebing once a day or so now too.

I worked late last night so not much going on.  I came home and did some of the weekly cleaning with my son and will finish it tonight.  I am only working an 8 hour day today.  I have plenty to do today at work so I better finish up my lunch and get busy.

  • I didn’t get home until after 8:00 from work.  I had some supper and did my bedtime routine….now I am off to curl up in bed and read.   Tomorrow is another day.   That to do list will still be there!  Have a great night!

  • Well I am still doing ok on my routines….didn’t get up as early as I should have this morning.   We are sort of sleeping better at night since we decided to just let Tommy fall asleep in our bed each night.  He goes to bed with hubby and I and once he falls asleep I take him to his room.   He has been sleeping better this way.   At this point I will do whatever gets me the most uninterrupted sleep.  This morning he did wake at 5:00am and I put in bed with us again.  If he could just wait until my alarm goes off at 5:45!

Last night went really well..I came home and hubby wasn’t home with Tommy yet so I got most of my bedtime routine nad chores done before he got home.  Hubby made supper while I finished putting away laundry.   After supper and kitchen clean up I had alot of free time!   Tommy decided he wanted to play school!   So we worked on making circles.  He so hates to write.   Then we did a puzzle and played a memory game.    Hubby and I hope to be able to do some activity with him each evening.   The routines sure help to have the time to do that.

Then we had a long conversation with Josh.  He took is all really well,  just talking about helping around the house, adhering to our rules and general reminders.   He received his debit card and checkbook in the mail yesterday so we will be working on teaching him how to use that.   We are going to the bank on Saturday to get a PIN for his debit card.    He is growing up…..that is for sure.  I am really proud how well he has handled the responsibility of having a job and GF and still maintaining school.  He was even on the honor role last quarter!!   He got alot of money for Christmas so it is burning a hole in his pocket.  He bought himself some clothes for work and a light thing for his room that pulses to music or something.     We are trying to encourage hi nto put some money away each month towards buying a car.   Neither the van or geo are goign to last much longer.  They are both over 10 years old and we can’t afford to replace them now.   I can only afford one car payment at a time and I am making payments on my truck still.

Time to get busy……have a great Day!
