  • MAPLE APPLE OATMEAL

    2 cups apple juice
    1-1/2 cups water
    1/3 cup Maple Syrup
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
2 cups Quaker Oaks (quick or old fashion, uncooked)
1 cup chopped fresh unpeeled apple (about 1 medium)

In a 3-quart saucepan, bring juice, water, syrup, cinnamon and salt to a boil.  Stir in oats, apple.  Return to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low.  Cook about 1 minutes for quick oats (or 5 minutes for old fashioned oats) or until most of liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.  Let stand until of desired consistency.

  • Hi,  yes my son is in middle school.  It certainly is a tough age.  He is a such a sweet heart and I am sure once he gets there it will be ok, but the initial change will be hard for all of us.  I love oatmeal... yum... I'll have to try this recipe   Blessings, Patti
