Month: March 2005

  • Tried to take a nap, but that didn't pan out.  Oh well....Tommy should go to bed early tonight since he didn't take a nap.   He watched his movie Tarzan during quiet time and I read a bit of the book I picked up at the library today.

Supper is nearly ready.  Tonight we are having pork roast, wild rice and vegetable medley.   I made chocolate pudding (the kind you cook) for dessert.    Tommy is very  very happy about that!

Josh is still at work, but I think he gets off work around 7:00.   He has been gone all day.

Tonight after Tommy is in bed, we plan on watching I-Robot and I will cross stitch for a while.   Time to serve up supper.......have a great evening.

  • WOW...I can't believe it is almost 3:00 already!   Where has the day gone???  We have been busy being out and about since it is so nice out.    Our adventures today weren't anything exciting, but needed to get done and got us out of the house!

Before hubby and Tommy were even thinking about getting dressed I was at Aldi getting groceries for the week.   I spent 53.00 for the weeks groceries.  Not too bad, I had to stop at Cub Foods for a couple of things they don't carry at Aldi and spent another 5.00, so I did very well with my budget spending less than 60.00 for groceries and 10.00 of that was junk food for hubby's Easter Basket!

After that I came home to put groceries away and pick up Hubby and Tommy.   We went to Sam's to pick up some needed paper products and to Target to exchange Tom's socks for the right size.   Then we went to Goodwill to look around for a bit.   I found a few things.    I bought 2 books, a purse and three short sleeve shirts.   Tommy found a big Ninja Turtle Guy for a 1.00.   It is hard to really look around too much at Goodwill with Tommy since you have to keep such an eye on him.

Then we went to the library....I had a ton of reserves in.   Hubby browsed for books while Tommy played on the computer and I read my book on the couch minding Tommy.   Now we have lunch and are having a quiet time at home.   Hubby is stretched out on the couch and Tommy is watching a movie.   I am of course on my laptop, but will probably go and read for a while.

We should be home for the rest of the evening and tomorrow the only thing we have is church in the am.  The weekend sure does fly by.........hope yours is enjoyable!!!

  • I know what I need to do today, get caught up on my email.  I have over 200 unread!  ARGH!    I am off to get supper in the crockpot and get ready for my day!    Later!

  • I am up early this morning.  Why is it I can never sleep in when I have the opportunity to.   So I was up at 6:00 and finally got out of bed at 7:00.   Of course my little buddy with the sonic momma hears woke up as soon as my feet hit the floor.    He just knows when Momma is getting up.  I was hoping for some quiet time, but that doesn't look like it will be happening.   He is watching Scooby Doo right now so he is letting me be on the computer.   I hope to leave at 8:30 and go to Target and Aldi without Tommy and hubby.

Not much on the agenda for today, which I am happy for.   I need a quiet weekend.  I don't plan on doing much cooking either.  I still have enough lunches from last weekend so I will skip it this weekend.   Last night we watched Ladder 49 and tonight we are going to watch I, Robot.   I was able to cross stitch alot while watching the movie which is pretty relaxing.

I am sure I will get a nap or two in as well.......Josh is home with us this weekend since he has to work 8 hours today.   He might be going to his Dad's for a bit tomorrow, not sure.  Have a great day!!!

  • Calling it a night early tonight......I am really tired.    The creamy Broccoli Casserole was ok, but didn't get raves enough to make it to our family web cookbook.   Creamy Ham and Rice was a hit!

After supper we watched Lader 49 and I cross stitched while I watched it.    Tommy is now in bed and I am going to do the same.  I am tired.   I will probably one read a page or two and be asleep.

    TOMMY FUNNY:

I forgot to mention the funny Tommy said last Sunday.  I was dressed for church and getting my makeup one and he came into the bathroom.   He said "Momma you look beautiful!!"  a little pause and he adds "What Happened???"  Gee thanks kid!!!

Tonight he said something naughty to Josh.   He told Josh "You shut your mouth! and Don't you tell Bonnie!"   We talked to him about it and he said one of the boys at daycare says that to him.  We told him to tell his auntie Bonnie if anyone says something mean to him.

I am off to bed...Good Night!

    PLANS FOR SATURDAY.....

    Go to Aldi/Groceries
    Target to Exchange Tom's Socks
    Library
    Give Cats a Bath

  • I hit most of the rooms on the house today and straightened up a bit.  I washed comforters and the shower curtain and rug.   So most of the chores are done for the weekend so I can relax.  YEAH!   We have two netflix to watch this weekend as well.   I also have a few things to complete for church as well.   But it shouldn't take too long.

I have my shopping list ready for tomorrow almost.  I still need to look at the cub add and clip coupons.   I will probably spend tonight finishing my library book.

I am trying this for supper tonight....

    Quick Cooking – March/ April 2004

Well off to finish cooking supper.......have good night!!!

  • Busy day....Friday is my day to get things caught up around home before the weekend.  I do have to do 4 hours of work, work at some point.   But right now I am going to get a bunch of stuff done around the house so we can enjoy our weekend and watch our movies.

I ran a number of errands this morning.  I found a shirt on clearance at target for Easter.   I also picked up Tommy a tee-ball set for Easter.   I bought him socks but need to return them.   I bought them too small.   I will return them tomorrow.

I am off to to some laundry and tidy up the house.

  • WOW - Tommy is asleep and in his bed!  WOO HOO!    Pretty quiet day/night.   I was at the MSSA conference most of the day.  I came home and my back was so sore.  The chairs were so uncomfortable!    Once home I started supper and after supper I layed on the heating pad for a bit.   My back isn't feeling much better yet.   I spent the rest of the evening straightening up the kitchen and paying bills/doing the budget.

Tomorrow is my catch up at home day......I have 4 hours of work work to do too!  But I might do that over the weekend.   We will see.    I am pretty caught up with laundry, but have a few others things to do.  I have to make my shopping list and stuff for Saturday.   I also have to get some packages together to mail as well.

  • Morning....Last day of the MSSA conference today.   Tomorrow I am home and getting caught up with chores around the house before the weekend.

Last night we had an unexpected evening at home.  The other two couples in our group could not make it tonight so we had supper at church and then came home.   I really needed an evening at home.   The conference yesterday was pretty good, but it is tiring sitting all day.  I have another full day of conference today again.   I do cross stitch while i listen to the speakers so it helps for the day to pass quickly.

I went to a conference on Treating Multi-Problem Scenarios: An Approach that works with Adol and Youth.  It wasn't very good unfortunately.   The second one was "Is it Misbehavior Oppositional Defiance or Due to ADHD"  This one was pretty good.   The Keynote was Rev. Nick Mezacapa.  He was very good...he talked about burnout and how to avoid that.  Very common in my field to get burned out as he stated on a daily basis.  He talked how we spend all our time taking care of other and telling them to take care of themselves and as helpers we never take care of ourselves.

Time to get Tommy dressed and out the door....Have a great day!!!!

  • Hello

I am heading out to the MSSA (minnesota Social Services Assoc) conference, but thought I would check in and wish everyone a great day.    Last night we did our weekly home blessing.  In our family we rotate the chores and everyone does their chore on Tuesday nights.   After that it was feeding and bathing Tommy and off to bed.   I did manage to clean out the vanity in the bathroom while Tommy took his bath.   I threw out a small trash can full of stuff.  It is funny as every few months I can still find stuff to throw out.   I still need to do the drawer and medicine cabinet.

I am not sure what I will get to tonight since we have church tonight.  We will see.  I have been trying to get to bed earlier each night to relax and read a bit.

Off to start my day!    I have to wake up Tommy now!  Have a great day!
