Month: May 2005

  • Quiet evening here at our house.....Tommy fell asleep.  Hubby is at a church meeting.  Josh and Amy went to a christian rock concert at Concordia College.    They were both very excited to go.   I am doing a few chores, than I need to wake up Tommy or he will be up all night!

  • I went to work this morning, but just got home.   I am still not feeling 100% so I figured I would work from home in the afternoon.   Just got an email from hubby....I sure do love that man!    I forget how lucky I am some days.

Tomorrow is payday so I have to get bills ready tonight and work on my grocery list and menu for the next week.   I suppose I should see what I had planned for supper tonight too!    Off to eat a little lunch and get busy.   Hope everyone is having a great day!!

  • Here is the software program I was talking about.....Debt Free

  • I have updated my calendar/chore chart for May.  Off to bed to read and rest.  Later!

  • I took a few minutes to update my DEBT FREE Software.  It is a great great program.  You enter in your bills, your interest rate on them and the minimum payment.   It will give you a payment plan that will tell you when you will have everything paid off.   Once you pay off one bill you take that amount and move it to the next bill.  So you always pay the same amount each month towards bills.   If we are able to follow this plan we will have everything paid off, student loans and mortgage before Tommy graduates from high school.  So we have about 15 more years and everything will be paid off including our mortgage.  In a perfect world of course.....we need a new car since my hubby is driving my very old car with over 200,000 miles on it.

By following this plan we will pay our 30 year mortgage off 10 years early!    That will be so nice.

  • Home today with a stomach bug.  I got really sick last night and still not feeling very well.   I hope to go to church tonight.  But at least I can read the book for church a bunch today while I lay in bed.

Finally got the refund from our car insurance for Josh's good grades.   YEAH!  So I finally have our emergency fund over 1,000.00.   So now I can work on using an extra funds to pay extra on other bills.  There will only be a little extra money until summer comes, than we will be very tight with the addition of Erik's daycare bill of 400.00 a month not to mention the added cost of the other stuff with the kids being out of school.  The savings budget plan we are using this year is very helpful.  I am also going to look into consolidating our student loans to hopefully get a lower interest rate and payment on them. I might call around on that today...hmmm....we will see.   I also started saving $50.00 a month towards Christmas this year.  We have been keeping up with that too...so far!  So I updated our budget since it is the first of the month.  I need to update the family calendar as well for the month of May.

I am off to read for church for a while.....have a great day!

  • Another busy day in the life of this social worker......argh.....a road trip to Rochester, MN again this morning.   I just got back a bit ago.  I ran a couple of errands and now I am at the office until around 8 or 9 tonight.   Tomorrow we have church.  I am really looking forward to it...I haven't read too much of the book yet, but maybe tonight.  Hmmm.....  Erik will be able to go to church with us on Wednesday which will be very nice for all of us.

I am off to make a huge to do list for here at work....feeling a bit overwhelmed!   I have plenty of paperwork to keep me busy all night.....but which to start with.   HOpe everyone is having a great week so far!!

  • Weight Watchers weigh in.......maintained....no loss and no gain this week.

  • HUGE YAWN!!!  I am not sure if is the weather or my allergies, but I am so tired.   I took a nap on Saturday and Sunday.  I usually do one of the days, but not both.   I was in bed early last night and had a hard time getting up this morning.   Tommy is actually still sleeping.

Today is Weight Watchers weigh-in and I think  I have lost more weight.  At least I hope I have.    Today is a 12 hour day at work for me and I only have one IEP meeting so I should be able to do alot of paperwork today/tonight.   Tomorrow I have to drive to Rochester again.....ARGH!!  My milesage check for last month had almost 800 miles on it for work!    I hate putting that many extra miles on my truck, but that is my job.   I actually might place a child in Duluth and I will have to drive there every other month.  Not fun....BTW, I hate driving!!!   Books on CD's make it better, but still don't like it!

Well time to shower and get out the door.   Have a great monday!!!!

  • Josh made Play-doh for Tommy today!  They are playing with it right now.

    KOOL AID PLAY DOUGH

    Mix together:

    2-1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup salt
2 pkg Kool Aid (any flavor)

In a separate bowl, mix 3 tbsp oil and 2 cups boiling water.  Combine the two mixtures, knead until smooth.

**Note - we always add alot more flour to get the right consistancy as it is too sticky.  So jsut add four in the kneading process until no longer sticky.
