Month: July 2005

  • I am awake and could almost qualify as alive!   Tommy had a hard time falling asleep last night it was well after midnight before he finally settled down.  Of course he is still asleep now and won't be too happy to be woke for daycare shortly.

Not much going on today.  Today is chore day so everyone will do their chores after supper.  Josh has to work from 5:30 until 9:30 so he will have to do his before work.  I only work 8 hours today so it should be as easy day.  I have a home visit in Minneapolis so that should be interesting, but at least I am out of the office.  I have unit meeting this morning so plenty to keep me busy.

I have laundry already going this morning and breakfast is done.  So I guess it is time to get showered and head to work.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

  • My wide awake little man and I are heading to bed.  I hope he falls asleep soon!!!

  • Pretty productive evening....I tried and tried to wake Tommy but he didn't get up until after 8:00.  I finally woke him by saying let's go slip and slide!  So outside we went.  But while Tommy was sleeping, I did dishes, dusted and vacuumed my bedroom.   I sleaned out one drawer in the bathroom as well.   Once we were outside I pulled weeds as my gardens are looking terrible.   The mosquitos got really bad so we had to come in.   Then Tommy took a bath and I took a shower when we was done.  I was so itchy from pulling weeds.

Hubby didn't get home until about 10:00 and is in bed.  He had to help a neighbor with computer stuff.   Tommy is drawing pictures and Josh is going to play a game with him.  The kid is WIDE awake.   ARGH....Josh offered to let him sleep in his room with him, but I think I will jsut put him in bed with me and hope he falls asleep.

I am going to fold my last load of clothes and go to bed hopefully with a sleepy Tommy, but I have my doubts.    LATER!!

  • I know what I forgot to blog about....and I hope this doesn't jinx me!    I think Tommy is pretty much daytime potty trained.  He does wear a pull-up at night, though he is dry most mornings.  But he sleeps in my bed and I don't want to change my sheets and get hubby up in the middle of the night if Tommy has an accident.   If he was in his bed I would not put a pull=up on him at night time.   So I think he is ready for school without a pull-up!  YEAH!!    I wasn't sure if he would make it in time for school or not.  He has preschool again this year.  He will be going two days a week this year.   Next year he will go three days a week.   Then my baby will be in Kindergarten.  Wow that is hard to believe.  We haven't decided on Kindergarten yet, but I think he will be going to private school for that.

    Now for my dilemna....

Tommy didn't have a nap at daycare and on the way home he fell asleep.  I have been trying and trying to get him to wake up.  He just won't!!  I think it will be a late night tonight and he won't be ready for bed until late!  ARGH!!   I hate when he gets into this sort of sleep schedule.  He did this yesterday too.   I have the slip and slide all ready for him outside and everything.

  • JENNATHOME - you commented how organized I am.  Trust me I didn't come by this naturally.  It has been alot of years of trial and error for me.   It took a while to learn to balance a family and a career.    One thing that means alot to me is there are a few things that I feel I have to make sure my kids have even though  I work.   The number one things I never want my child ever to come to me and say I don't have any clean socks or whatever to wear.  So laundry is a priority for me.   The other thing is I have to plan out my meals because we are on a tight budget and eating out isn't an option.  The funny part is my kids friends will comment about the meals I make, etc....my kids don't appreciate it as much since they have always had home cooked meals.   One thing I do require is that we all eat supper every night together as a family.   I try to work around the kids schedule and of course I work late two nights a week and can't eat with them.   But I make sure something is ready for hubby to pop in the oven or something.  Though he doesn't like to cook after work and will sometimes get McDonalds.   The last thing that I wanted to make sure my kids had was a home they would never be embarassed to bring their friends to.   So being organized allows me to provide my children with the type of home I want for them and still work.   I really wish it would be possible for me to stay home, but that won't be happening so I try to privide the best I can for my kids and still work fill-time!   I work my schedule around my kids too.  I try to make them the priority as often as I can!

  • New look.....got tired of the old one!   I love Daisies!!   time to clean up the kitchen and relax for a bit until Tommy wakes up!

  • Supper is smelling lovely in the crockpot.  We picked up the van...so Josh and Erik are out and about.  The repairs to the van were over $1200.00.  ARGH.....that cleaned out my emergency car repair part of my savings.  I will have to start trying to save up money again before one of our cars break down again.  hopefully the van will last another 6 months and we will be able to sell it and get a different one.

School shopping time is almost here.   Josh doesn't need much for school clothes nor does Tommy, but Erik will need ALOT!   Since he usually was at his mom's during school we dont' have alot of school clothes for him.  So we will be buying him a whole new wardrode in the next few weeks.

I guess I should go pick up the house a bit and get ready for hubby to come home.  Have a great evening.

  • Finally got my menu done.......July Menu

  • Errands done!    Went to Aldi and Cub for groceries.  Cub had skinless chicken breasts on sale and I bought 18 pounds.  That should do us for two months.   I also went to Sam's to get some steaks for my hubby's birthday this weekend.   I can't remember the last time we had steak.  Came home and unpacked and now am going to clean for an hour and then nap for an hour before my chiro appointment.   Josh is going to the church to help the youth driector with something and Erik is playing at the neighbors.   Off to clean up a bit.....later!

  • Tommy just woke up so I guess I should start my day.   I slept in until almost 8:30....that was nice!!   I need that after working 2 -12 hour days.  Last night I actually worked about 12.5 hours.   Hubby called me on my way home and I swung by and picked up Josh from the mall since he was done working.   We got home to hubby having an issue with Erik so he was a bit frustrated.   it is good for him to have the kids two evenings a week alone.  I take care of them the other 5 days.

Well time to get supper in the crockpot and get showered.   I am dropping off Tommy at daycare and then going to get groceries.   Hope you all have a great day!!!
