  • HAPPY EASTER.....

Finally a Sunday I don't have to wake Tommy up for church.  He is up and at them early.   I had to have him crawl into bed with Daddy so I could run outside and play Easter Bunny and hid our plastic eggs on the front lawn.  Always fun for him to find them.

We will go to church this morning and then I really don't know what we will be doing.  I am going to make a Ham and trimming this afternoon, but otherwise we are taking it easy.

Tommy just called me from the neighbors.  He snuck out the door and I didn't know where he was.  ARGH!!  It is going to be one LONG summer.  He loves to be outside so I can't get anything done in the house since I have to be outside watching Tommy.

    YESTERDAY ....

VERY BUSY would describe yesterday.   Hubby wanted to stay home and get caught up with some things.   Tommy and I went to the Easter Egg Hunt at church.  He found about 11 eggs and then I told him that was enough and we should leave some for other children.  I wish other parents would have been as kind.  Some children had huge baskets of eggs while other children had very few.  I wasn't impressed with that!  Tommy didn't want to play in the jumpy thing or make any crafts so we visited the Easter Bunny and left.

Tommy and I then went to the library and picked up our reserves.  Tommy got the movie Wendy Meets Casper so he was excited.  Then we went to the post office to mail off our bills.  Then we stopped at McDonalds and got a happy meal and went to the park to eat.   After the park we went to Toys R Us.  They had buy two movies and get one free sale.  So the Easter Bunny bought the Family 3 movies for Easter.  I don't buy a movie for a specific child or than they say, that is my movie so and so cant' watch it.  So movies are owned by the entire family.  Erik is especially bad at this.  I also bought Tommy a little digital camera at Toys R Us on clearance.   But he likes his barbie one better still.   I wanted him to have his own camera as he has dropped my digital camera already twice!  Then we went to Target as I need some nylons for church.   Finally we went to Cub Foods to buy groceries!  After groceries we came home.  At home we played outside until Daddy came home.

I didn't have my digital camera all day so I haven't gotten pictures to upload.  Josh left the camera in his locker at school.  I will actually have to develop pics.  ARGH!!

    SUPPER:

    Chicken and Noodles

    • 2 cups shredded chicken
    • 4 cups broth from chicken (or broth plus water to equal 4 cups)
    • 8 oz. egg noodles
    • Garlic salt or Adobo
    • 1 can Cream of Chicken soup

Heat the broth to boiling. Add the noodles and cook until almost done. Add soup, chicken, and seasonings to taste. Cook until the chicken is heated through and the soup is well blended. You may sprinkle with parsley for some color if you would like.

I had to get a few things done around the house so after Supper Tommy went shopping with Daddy so I got the Easer Basket things ready, washed dishes and scrubbed the floors in the kitchen and bathroom.  When Daddy got home we dyed Easter Eggs and headed to bed.  Tommy went to sleep quickly knowing the Easter Bunny was going to be coming.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter with friends and family!!!

  • A DAY OFF.....

Gotta love having a day off.  I really needed it, I am pretty overwhelmed at home and work.  I hope to get a few things done around home so I don't feel so overwhelmed.  I still don't have everything put away from our Florida trip even.  ARGH!!  Hubby went into work a bit later today so I got to sleep in!!

Today I will clean in Erik new room.  Last night Josh moved up Erik's bed and desk so all the furniture is in Erik's room.  I will mop the floor and wipe down the walls today.   Then I need to work on getting his clothes and desk organized.  We put a desk in his room so he will have a quieter place to do his homework.   It will be so great to have Erik on the main floor.  Now I don't have to run up and down the steps all day checking on him every 15 minutes!  I need to buy him a lamp for his desk, blinds and curtains to make the room look nice.

    LAST NIGHT

Hubby and I both got home late.  It was nearly 6:30 or so by the time we were home.  I came home and my neighbor Jerry was out so I chatted with him.  He is doing better, but is needing dialysis three times a week.  His health really hasn't been too good lately.

We decided to celebrate hubby's lab being set up and me getting my case documentation all done from the corrections needed from the state audit.  We went to Red Lobster for supper.  We still had two gift certificates from Christmas!   We were having a great time and chatting when I had an asthma attack and couldn't breathe, of course I didn't have my emergency inhaler with me as it was in my coat pocket, which I didn't wear.  OOOPS!!  Hubby ran home while I waited for our food.  I still really couldn't get my breathing to get much better so we brought our food home.  ARGH!!  I felt terrible it is so rare we go out and to have it ruined was really a let down.   I came home and used the nebulizer and after about an hour more or so my breathing was pretty good.  So I guess I will be having Red Lobster leftovers for lunch today!

Josh got my laptop set up so we have internet on that at least.  I hate being without it since we use it so much.

I should get my day going and shower and dress.  Have a great day!

  • END FOR THE WEEK FOR ME......

Well today is a blackout day at work.   This means I am not suppose to answer email or the phone and only work on these correction that we have to do due to our state audit.  5 years of documentation need to be updated to meet state guidelines.   Not a fun job.  I have to get done today as I was planning on taking Friday off since daycare is closed.  Friday is our last blackout day and everything has to be done!  So I will be staying at work today until everything is done.   ARGH!!!  Hopefully it isn't too late of a night.

Friday, Tommy and I will be home alone all day.  Erik will be with his mom and Josh is working that extra job.   Hubby will be working all  day as well.  I am not sure what we will do, probably go to the park or something.  Bake cookies and maybe do an art project.

Next week I only work on Monday and Friday in the office since hubby is out of town.   I will work a few hours at home Tues -Thurs.   I sure love that I have such a flexible job and a great supervisor!!!

Well time to get my lunch made and start waking up Tommy for school.   Have a great day!

  • IT HAS STARTED.......

Today was busy....and I got most everything accomplished, except for my menus.  I will do that later this week or weekend.

Joshua has finally decided to stop waiting for his parents to begin the huge project of musical bedrooms.  Today he started emptying our computer room and the process of moving Erik into his own room.   Erik will be on the main floor next to us due to many reasons, one being just supervision.  I think it will be a good thing.  Plus with Josh starting college and working we wanted him to have his own room to come and go without worrying if Erik is sleeping, etc.   We are trying to give him more of his own space since he will be 18.   We are letting him have a lock on his bedroom door to keep little brothers out.  But Mom and Dad have a key to get in when they want.   Also...I am thinking about getting him a dorm fridge for his room for his birthday.   We are trying to make it more like a dorm room for him since he will be living at home and going to college.  He is moving the downstairs couch into his room and will have a living room area in his room.  He has a huge bedroom.  I am excited for him.....it is as close to his own apartment as he will get for a bit.

I can't stand the entire house being in disarray, but this was the perfect weekend to start.  Erik leaves a day early this weekend to visit his Mom and we don't have to worry about getting his bed set up.   Also next week my hubby is at an IT conference and I will be home three days so I can work on getting things back in order more.   And getting rid of things!!  SO much to do...but with graduation coming I want it all done!

Well it is nearly time for Tommy to head to bed. I think I will sit outside with him for a bit and then convince he to head to bed.  Erik is studying for a test and Josh and Amy are working on the room arranging.   Hubby is at the neighbors helping them with the computer I think...at least he disappeared...LOL!!

    Later!

  • DAY OFF...or as much as I ever have a Day Off!!!

Wednesday......and I don't need to go into the office.   I actually will have only 40 hours in this week and will do that in 4 days.   But I have a very busy day at home planned.

I have my first Dr Appointment of the day at 8:20.  I will have to take Tommy with me as I can't leave the house until Erik leaves for the bus, which doesn't give me enough time to get to the daycare and back to the Dr.  This appintment is to have my foot looked at.  It is still swollen and it is turning black and blue in a couple of spots as well.  I can't wear regular shoes yet and it still hurts if I am up on it too much.   I think I vaguely remember stubbing my big toe.   I need to have it checked out since I have fairly severe osteoporosis and my bones break fairly easy.   I have already had a broken rib.

After that I will take Tom to daycare and come home.  At home I need to fill out the Functional Behavioral Assessment for Erik reassessment at school and drop that off today.  I need to make a grocery list/Menu.   And of course buy groceries.  I also have to put clean clothes away.  Hubby has been doing very very good about helping with laundry the last few days and I have about 6 loads to put away!   But at least that means our weekend will not be filled with laundry.  Maybe we can actually watch a movie or I can read!

I also have an appointment to have a kidney ultra sound done at 1:00 to rule out kidney stones.   I hope to get groceries after that appointment.   If I accomplish this all I will be a happy camper!   Alwasy so much to do!

Josh is suppose to have a physical done on Friday but I am going to reschedule it for him since he has an opportunity to work for a friends grandparents and earn $10.00 an hour.   He will work there from 8 to 4 on Friday and Saturday in addition to also working at Express on Saturday.   He won't be around much this weekend again.  So he should have some extra money for prom and things.   Did I mention he and his friends rented a limo for prom?  Silly kids....but I know they will have a great time.   He already rented his tux and things.  But he still needs money for dinner and flowers.  Senior year is so expensive, but he is making great memories!  I told him I would pay for his Senior Party ticket so I will order that this week.  Senior year is just flying by.....the  graduation open house is looming closer and closer!!

Tommy was up running around when I got home last night still.  So he will be hard to get up and out the door to my Dr appointment.  Erik was in bed, but hubby had sent him to bed early since he had snuck off when he was grounded and also did something else...can't even remember what.   Hubby wasn't the happiest when I got home last night.  Erik had an ortho appointment and got the springs added to his braces.  I think that is in preparation to soon getting his bottom braces not sure.  Hubby took him to the appointment and really didn't ask.

Well I am off to wake up Tommy and check on Erik.   Have a great day!

  • Morning of a Working Mom....

This morning it felt like I worked a full day before I left for work.  WHEW!!   I was actually up on time for once so had plenty of time to get things done.  I showered and dressed and than got Erik up and started on his morning routine.

I folded a load of clothes and had a bit of computer time.  Once Tommy woke up I gave him a bath, made breakfast, gave him medicine and got him ready for school.   No one had washed his clothes so I had to really scrounge to find pants for school.  We can't wash his clothes with ours due to he breaks out from regular detergent and fabric softner.  So I started a load of Tommy clothes washing too.

I was just heading out the door when Erik called from school.  He had missed the bus for his religious release day so he wanted me to pick him up at school and take him to church.   I had to run Tommy to preschool first and then I got Erik and dropped him off at church.   I came home and made my lunch quickly and dash off to work.

In my hurry I forgot my cell phone, which was charging and my sweater (They have turned on the air conditioning at work and it if freezing!!).  ARGH!!!   Now on my my real job!   I have to work late tonight, until probably 8:00 or so as there is a parent training tonight I should show up at.

    Later!   Have a great day!

  • TUESDAY....

I can't believe it is only Tuesday.  Seems like I have had an entire week of work already.   I got into work a bit later on Monday since I knew I was working late.   When I walk in the building I see all the child DD social workers in a room....hmm....bet I am suppose to be there too!  I go upstairs and ask around and there was a mandatory meeting on screening docs.   They must of planned it either while I was home with the kids when they were sick or while I was on vacation.  No one told me....OOPPS!    I go down and get the last hour of the training.   ARGH!

I spend the rest of the day in the office just trying to find my desk again.   I still have alot of catching up to do!  I returned most of my phone calls.  I called home and reminded hubby to give Tommy his medicine since I forgot in the morning.  I forgot to remind him about Erik though.   ARGH!!

I got home around 9:00 all the kids were still up and running around.   Erik hadn't had his med yet so I gave it to him.  I am hoping that doesn't make him tired.   Josh, hubby and I had more discussion about graduation.   We can only get 4 tickets for graduation, at the most 5 and we really don't know who should come to the ceremony.   We all have differing opinions.  We also found out that Josh will not HAVE to go to full-time to school right away since I can cover him on my insurance until 19 without him being full-time in school.  That is nice as then he can ease into classes more.  So much to do for the graduation.  That is our focus now and moving around the kids bedrooms.   We want Josh to be able to have his own room.  He currently shares with Erik.  The kids spent the evening cleaning up all the garbage from the swamp.

Tommy and I headed to bed pretty late!   I was out right away and I think he was too.   Hubby moved him into his bed when he came to bed, but sometime during the night Tommy came back.  He has to sleep with Momma.

I stayed within my 20 points yesterday!!!   I ate only 16!!  I really want to lose next week.   I need to quit messing around and lose these last 4 pounds already!  They are very expensive pounds already!!

    TODAY

I tried to do my travelogue, but I can't upload pics right now on xanga.  Bummer!    So you are safe for another day.

Erik lost his TV priviledges so he is sitting on the couch mooping. He had lied to me about showering and stuff.  I usually let him watch TV for about 15 minutes in the morning if he is good for me.  He is grounded by hubby from TV the rest of the time!   But since he was dishonest with me he lost that for the week.    He also lied to hubby last night so he has to do hubby's chores this week too.  Someday hopefully he will learn it does not pay to be dishonest!!

Tommy is still sleeping.  I need to get him up soon as he needs a bath before school.  Hubby didn't give him one last night, but hubby did do a number of loads of laundry so I will just focus on what he *did remember to do.  I will have to remeber to send him a email to his blackberry today so he remembers to give the kids meds and pick up Tommy from preschool.  I will probably be working a bit late again as I need to have Wednesday off as I have two Dr appointments.

Josh rode to school with Charlie today as hubby is driving Josh's car.   The blazer is making a grinding noise so that went into the shop for repairs last night.   I hope it isn't anything too expensive.

I am off to made my lunch for today and get Tommy up.  Erik should be leaving for the bus in a bit and then I can go down stairs and finish getting ready for work.

    Have a great day!!

  • Just a Quick Note.....

Off to a  busy busy week again.  Work is very busy and I am pretty overwhelmed.  I am off on Wednesday for two Dr appointments.  Yes, I am getting my foot looked at and I have to have an ultro sound of my kidneys.  I have to take Friday off since daycare is closed, but I will take my laptop home and work some.

I made the recipe below with my Cripsy Chicken last night and everyone ate it!  Even Erik liked it!!

    Mexican Salad

    • variety of lettuces, torn into bite-sized pieces
    • 1 red bell pepper, seeded & chopped
    • 1 green bell pepper, seeded & chopped
    • 1 can corn, drained
    • 1 can of garbanzo beans, drained
    • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
    • 1 can black olives, drained
    • 1 tomato, diced
    • 1 bottle ranch salad dressing

Combine all fresh ingredients; reserve half for Thursday. Serve with ranch dressing.

    WEIGH IN DAY:

Down another .6 pounds.  Only 4 more pounds to goal.   I still want to lose beyond my goal, but want to achieve lifetime and not have to pay for Weight Watchers anymore!!

Something to make me smile....I bought a new pair of Capris and they were a size 8 and they are big on me.  I think I will go back and try on a size 6!  YEAH!!!!

  • SUNDAY.........

I think we now know why we all had such a difficult night sleep on Friday night.  Tommy tossed and turned so much.  Well a couple of time yesterday during the day he said he had a headache.  I didn't think much of it since we were at the circus and he is very sensitive to loud noises.   Last night at about 2:00am he starts crying and crying that his ear hurt.   ARGH!!   I think he has an ear infection.  The urgent care we usually go to open at 9:00 so I will call to get an appointment.  So no church again for us today.

    YESTERDAY -

I got alot of the living room cleaned.  I moved and mopped the wood floor under all the furniture and dusted the cleaned all the furniture very well.  I have to clean out the rest of the Entertainment Center and the coat closet.   I need to run to Old Navy today to get Tommy a spring jacket.     I didn't make it there yesterday.  I was so tired of shopping by the time I was done.

In the morning Tommy and I went to the library, the bank and got our haircut.  Hubby was working for the morning.  Then we had a quick lunch and headed to the circus.   Tommy didn't want to stay for the entire thing, but we made it.   He fell asleep on the way home and slept most of the evening.  Guess he really isn't feeling well.

I needed to go shopping for some work clothes for spring.  I really needed some short sleeve shirts for work.    I went to Kohls and bought 10 shirts for work and some under garments.  The had 50% off spring shirts so I stocked up!  I only ended up spending a little over $100.00 so that is very good!    I also needed a pair of flat black shoes.  I usually wear my boots every day, but I have done something to my foot.   The top of my foot is swollen, red and painful.   It hurts to walk even.  So I will wear some flat mules I bought for a while to see if my foot heals.     Today I need to go through my current spring clothes and donate at least 10 shirts.  After Kohls' I went to Target to get Easter Candy and some household items.   It was after 9:00 by the time I got home and Tommy was still sleeping!

I also took my wedding ring in to get an estiamte on reapirs.  Had I been taking it in every six months for cleaning and inspection the repairs would have been free.  GRRRRR....that is so hard to remember.   I lost one of the 11 diamonds on my ring.  At least it was one of the smaller ones!    They guess that the diamond will cost about $50.00 to replace - so glad it was a small one! Then the goldsmith needs to rebuild a prong and things so it will probably be arond $100.00 to fix it.  They will have an estimate to me by Thursday.  It feels weird to be without my ring since I never ever take it off.  I took hubby's ring in for cleaning and inspections since I was there.

    TODAY -

Laundry and finish the rest of my list!   I should be home all day  today besides taking Tommy to Urgent Care and buying him a sweatshirt.  I think I bought one on clearance for Erik at the end of the season.  I am going to have to look.

I am off to pop in a movie I rented from the library (only 50 cents a day!)  and sort through my basket of paperwork that needs attention!

  • SATURDAY.......

Good Morning!  I am up early for a Saturday.  I just couldn't sleep.  So I figured I would get up and do a few things around the house before everyone is up.  I am going to declutter the Living Room, MrsCatherine's way this morning until everyone wakes up.

Then I will run errands and things with Tommy this morning and hubby will be going into work for a while.   We have tickets this afternoon for the shrine circus though.

I have alot of paperwork stuff to get caught up on as well.   Plenty to do!!

    LAST NIGHT...

I tried to call Josh's bio father.   Wow, I guess I really do rarely ever speak to him! His number has been changed and I don't have a new one.  OOPS.  It has been a few years.  I sent him an email so we will see if I get an repsonse.  I just have some questions about Josh's graduation and what he would like to do as far as being involved.

Last night I was home with Tommy, Josh and Charlie (josh's best friend).   Hubby was at a recognition event for work until late.  The boys and I ordered pizza.  Domino's since hubby wans't here!  Then Charlie and Josh went to the mall and Tommy and I curled up in bed an watched a movie.   I was so tired.......so really needed a relaxing evening.  I am not sure what time Josh and Charlie got home I was sound asleep.  Charlie stayed overnight and they both are still sleeping.  Not sure if Josh works today or not.....but he and I have to finish the college admissions stuff this weekend for sure!
