  • WOO HOO!!!!

I am a happy camper.  After nine years of debating a purchase we finally made it tonight.   We have a terrible time parting with our money at times or at least I do!  We have wanted to buy a new matteress for a few years.   We bought a slightly used matteress about 10 years ago and it really has seen it's better days.    In my first marriage we have a select comfort bed and I loved it!    Hubby and I have been wanting to get one for a long time.   Select Comfort was having a good sale for Labor Days so we had to take advantage of it.    My hubby and I both have severe back issues.   My hubby had back surgery 10 to 11 years ago and I was in a severe car accident and rolled my SUV about 2.5 years ago and still have really bad back and neck pain.    We really are hoping the new matteress will help with my chronic pain.   So we should receive our new Select Comfort Bed in about 10 days!     You know you are getting old when you are this excited about a matteress and waking up without pain!!!    At this point in my life I can't imagine not waking up in pain.   So I really hope this new matteress helps!

Well I am off to bed and to dream about my new matteress.....LOL!!!

  • I am up, though not as early as yesterday.    I have a few minutes before I have to lump into the shower.  My first meeting today is at 8:45 and it takes nearly 45 minutes to get to my office.    I stayed up a bit late last night.  Hubby and I were chatting and it went late.   Tommy came into our bed in the middle of the night and woke me up numerous times.  I was too tired to get up and take him to his room.

Today hubby is home with Tommy as my SIL is taking her daughter to the U of MN to move in for her first year of college.   Tomorrow I am home part of the day and will run errands.   Fun...Fun....

I have been following my new schedule very well and I am on top of my laundry for once so I might have a pretty relaxing weekend.  Though I always invite some more work to do.....gotta run....Have a wonderful day!!

  • Hey everyone....yep..I was going to post everyday, but it is hard some days!!!  So here is a bit of a recap for those interested.

SUNDAY - I stayed very busy all day.  I need to start relaxing more on the weekend.  Maybe once we get back to our school year routines I will have more time on the weekends.   Sunday I got up and went to Walmart right away to buy the rest of the school supplies and canning jars.   I came home and made the kids lunch and got busy canning Salsa.  I have pictures, but will have to load them when I am at home.

In the midst of canning Tommy lost his first tooth.  He was so very excited!!!  I am surprised he didn't explode.  I cleaned around the house most of the evening.  I had the hardest time stopping and going to bed.  Once in bed I read until after midnight.

MONDAY - Back to work for me.   Monday is my organizing day at work.  I get things squared away for the week and ready.   I worked until 5:00 and then headed home to make a quick supper for the kids.  Hubby and I went to look into buying new tires for my van.  Sam's club wasn't accepting anymore cars for service when we got there.  ARGH...we checked the prices though.  Then we headed to Tires Plus as their sign said they were having a sale.   There prices were twice as much as Sam's still.   Hubby told me which tires to buy at Sams and I will do that on Friday morning.

Once we got home I was really wiped!   I actually sat down and watched two TV shows of mindless TV.  Very rare for me!   I watched Wife Swap and Super Nanny.   Then it was off to bed.  Both Tommy and I fell asleep right away.  Our puppy was crying alot during the night to go out.  I am not sure why that was.

TUESDAY - another work day, my late night!   WOrking on paperwork most of the day.  I did go out and do one site visit.  I might go home a bit earlier than planned tonight as I have a headache again.  My back and head have been terrible again.  I think I need to see another Dr besides the Chiropracter.   I need to get my Lawyers advice before seeking additional treatment.

The last few days I have been working on setting up my routines for this year.  They have changed a bit from last year due to Tommy being in Preschol three times a week instead of two.   This week is a test run to see how it goes...unfortunately I have really been struggling to get up as early as I need to.  We have been sleepig in alot during the summer.  Next week we are back to school hours.  ARGH!!

Here is a draft of my routine for Tuesday................ You know me...the Queen of Checklists!!

The Above Schedule is based on ideas offered by Mrs Catherine and WVCoutry Roads (Mistey).  They both have such great ideas.    They say it takes 30 days to make a habit so hopefully by this time next month this will be going very smoothly!

I am finally getting caught up on reading my Make It Home Magazines.  Cat and Blaine do a wonderful job with the magazine.  It is great to read the different articles and see writers that I read on xanga and other websites contributing.  Very cool!!!

  • Good Night....

Time to call it a night.  We had a very busy day.   Hubby and I took the boys shopping for school things.     Erik wanted new shoes and a messenger bag so we found him those.   We got both at Kohl's since they had 50% off almost everything in the store.  I also had a 15% off coupon.  Tommy got a new pack pack and shoes as well.  Hubby found three pairs of pants for work and 2 belts.   I bought one pair of shoes, that I need to return for a half size smaller.    BTW, I hate to shop!  We went out for lucnch at PotBellys afterwards!

We also bought most of the school supplies at Target.  Then it was off for haircuts.  So Erik is ready for school I think!    He will be at his mom's again next week since we didn't have anyone to watch him for us.   That is a real life saver for us.   Josh's Girlfriend is out of town so she wasn't an option and Josh is at college most of the day between his classes and work study job.

Tonight we picked the broccolli from the garden and will eat that tomorrow.  We ate our watermelon tonight as well, which could have been a bit more ripe.   I wan't sure how to check!

Tommy also got his first pair of roller blades today.  That is an adventure.....He has fallen alot!

    Padding Up....Safety First!!!

    Actually standing up!!!

Oh yeah and for other firsts for Tommy...he has his first loose tooth and is so excited!  He is telling anyone who will listen, even complete strangers!

  • I was able to run alot of errands today and get some organizing of paperwork done!!  Yeah!!   I have my menu done for next week as well.   I am off to pick Tommy up at daycare and get some groceries.  Hope you have a great day!

Erik is home for the weekend.  We are really looking forward to seeing him!   Josh worked at the college this morning and then had one class.  He is off at his second job at the mall right now.  My boy is always very busy!

  • Wednesday.....

Hey Everyone -  Hope everyone is well!   I can't beleive how difficult it has become to post daily.   I just am pretty busy with work and getting thing organized for school starting.   Today I am headed off to work, but got sick on the way there and returned home.  So I am home today with a icky tummy.   No Fun!  I really don't have time to be sick so I really hope this passes quickly.   My allergies have been bad as well so I just haven't had the energy that I usual have.

I was able to get to a couple of tasks I wanted to do.   I was able to post all my books on my bookshelf on to paperbabkswap.com on the TBR list.  Now I know which books other members are waiting for that I have.  I will now read those first so I can mail them off and earn some credits to get some books.   I have already sent 6 books that I mailed to other members.  Once they receive them I will get my credit to get some more books.

    Books Read in August.....

Better Than Chocolate - Susan Waggoner - (4/5)

    Rattled - Debra Galant - (4/5)

    Memory Keeper's Daughter - Kim Edwards - (4.5/5)

Once it is time for school to start I get the desire to organize and get back into our normal routine.   Some fellow members of xanga have posted some really great series regarding organizing, house management and christmas preparations.   MrsCatherine started her series on Preparing our Hearts and Homes for Christmas on the 21st of August.  I am a day behind in reading but an really looking forward to following along with Catherine in her preparations!

MVCountryRoads (Mistey) is also doing a couple of great series on developing a home schedule and another series on developing a Home Management Binder.  I am always so impressed with all Mistey does!  What a great mom to her little boys.  She is in her first year olf homeschooling as well.

Check out both of these wonderful ladies blogs and the great series they are sharing with us all!

My baby started college on Monday.  I can't beleive it.  I am incredibly proud of Josh.  He has two classes right now and is working at the college for workstudy and still at the mall.  He continues to help us out so much with watching the kids.  I don't know what we do without him.  What a blessing he is to us!

I need to go off and clean up the kitchen a bit before hubby gets home.   Have a great day!!   I will try and check in more later!
