  • Another day that just hasn't turned out as planned.   Of course I had very little sleep last night.  This morning I called the Vet as our siamese cat, Robbie continues to vomit numerous times a day.  He is about 10 1/2 years old.  About 3am last night he was howling and very disorientated scratching at a book in Tommy's room.  I went and got him and put him on my bed with me.   He seemed to settle down.  I call the vet and they get in him this morning.  I figure I will be able to work this afternoon, but no such luck he is still at the Vets.

The vet called and they just got Robbie's blood work back.   They are 99% sure he is diabetic.  YIKES!!  They are going to do a urinalysis to be sure and check for a bladder infection as well.  So how do they treat diabetes in cats??  The same as humans.  I will be giving him a insulin shot two times a day!  Yikes...I can't believe it.  Not something I am looking forward to at all.

I called them and asked if I could bring Teddy in for his puppy shots since I was home today.  So when I pick up Robbie I will take Teddy in for some shots.  That only leaves Molly who needs to get her shots updated.  They have a Discount Vaccination Clinic at Petco that I am going to take her to this weekend and get her updated.  Then later this month we are getting her groomed for the first time.  She is a very very fat Maine Coone cat and long hair everywhere!   So we are going to have her get a Lion Cut and see if that helps on the cat hair problem in our house.  YUCKY!!!

So that is what in going on with our four legged babies.

    MOLLY

She is on this chair 24 hours a day.  It is a mine field of cat hair.
So that is why we are going to try getting her groomed too.

  • So you might be looking at the time this was posted and think,  "WOW, Jen did great on getting up early today".  Well, that is not the case.  I haven't been to sleep yet.  I went back on prednisone for this dumb cough/cold that has been messing with my asthma.  A side effect of the med......insomnia!   So I am up, but I think I will lay on the couch and read to see if I get sleepy. It could be a very long day.  YIKES!!   I did get up and made a long list of all the to do things running through my head.  Later!!

I am glad so many of you liked the Menus4Moms website.  You will have to let me know which recipes your family likes.   I don't follow their menus exclusively, but do a few things a week from there.

    MY WEEKEND PROJECT

My dining room is he dump all for everything.  We rarely eat in there and eat at the kitchen table unless we have company.  One end of the table is my laptop and the other is where I fold clothes.   I bought a new filing cabinet on Friday to put in my dining room.  Hopefully this will give me a place to all the paperwork that comes into this house each week.    I had to clean out the corner where the cabinet was going and I ended up piling all that junk on the table.  YIKES!!  What a mess!!!   I have been so inspired by CoolMomofeight.  She has been posting before and after pictures as she has been decluttering her home.

    Mom's 002

I didn't get to clean out the entire shelf, but the one shelf that
I had my binders and papers needed organizing!!

    Mom's 001

Yep, that is my table. Doesn't look like we will be eating there this weekend!

    Mom's 003

This is the cherrywood file cabinet that Josh put together for me.  It is
right next to where I have my laptop.  This is my little office area to organize
    our lives and home.

    Mom's 006

I put alot of things in binders.  I have a binder for each child to keep
their things in.  Erik has numerous binders!  I have one to keep my
in-laws paperwork.  I have one to keep my personal things, booklists,
patterns, etc.  I have a home management binder and a recipe binder
as well.  I really find that binders work well for me to keep me organized.
I do a similiar thing at work as well.

    Mom's 007

This is my landing spot of daily paperwork.  I have my notebook
and other daily things here.  I plug my cell phone here so I remeber
    to grab it each morning.

    Mom's 005
WOW!!  There is my table.  I will have to take a picture in a few
days to see how I have done on keeping it this wasy.  I plan on
cleaning it each night before goign to bed.  We will see how that goes.
I feel like things have a place in that area now, so I will be able to
    put them away.

Right now the table does have one load of clothes on it.  I will put
those away before I head to bed.

  • Running on Fumes....

Hello - First I wanted to thank all of you for the birthday wishes!!   Thanks very much.   It is greatly appreciated.  Well it is Wednesday morning and I have already worked 33 hours this week.   I worked 9 on Sunday, 11 hours on Monday and 13 on Tuesday.   I am a bit tired and unmotivated today, but will try and work a few hours from home this afternoon.   I will not be working tonight since I have bible study.   I am really looking forward to going.

I am really trying to get all caught up at work as the next budget season is just about to hit and I am not caught up from the end of year budgets yet!!  I am sure I sound like such a workaholic, which to some regards is probably true.  I just always want to do my best at whatever I am doing.   My employer is making it easier for me to work more of course.  They have now extended the hours I can be in the building at night.  The alarm system is turned on later.   So some nights I can work until midnight even!!  Sad...but true..I have done it.   The other thing that is happening that I am really excited about.  I will have VPN access to my computer at work.  I can currently access my email, but now I will be able to actually log onto my work computer from home!  I will have access to my entire computer and the drives!   Hopefully that will mean I can work at home in the evening vs. being at the office until so late at night.   I really do love what I do....and there are moments like last night that make it all worth it.  I have to transfer the children I work with to the adult unit when they turn 18..which has become more and more difficult for me.  I had my last meeting with a family last night.  I have been working with them for almost 10 years.  Luckily I still have other children in this particular home that I started a few years ago so I will be around there some still.   I will miss this family........it feels good to know that I have worked well for this family and made a difference for them.

Today I hoped to sleep in since I was working from home...NOPE...I was up by 6:00 and showered and dressed by 6:30.   I dropped Tommy off at Preschool and had to run home again to get a swimsuit for him since they were having a beach party.  His auntie will pick him up so I can work from home.

Well this that said...I guess I better get to work.  I will have worked alot of extra hours this week, so I will be saving them up to hopefully take a week off in February before the next budget season.   Have a great day and I will check in with you all later!!

BTW - is anyone else having trouble with xanga???  Mine is so slow!  ARGH!!
