  • Weekend Ending....

Well it is hard to believe the weekend is almost over.  It goes way too fast!   This morning we went to church and ran to Walmart afterwards to buy church shoes and pants for Tommy.   He has outgrown almost all of his shoes and pants.  It is hard to keep up with buying clothes between Tommy and Erik's growth spurts.

We had a nice brunch and then I got a great treat!!  Hubby watched Tommy and I was able to read and nap for a bit.   Once I was up I had a bunch of paperwork things to do.  I balanced the checkbook, worked on my our budget and made my menu/shopping list for the next two weeks.  My new key to saving money....stay out of the stores and don't take hubby with!

Currently we each get $75.00 a week of fun money.   I am hoping to cut mine back to $50.00 a week and save an additional $100 a month to put towards paying off a loan or credit card we have.   I have to try to make a dent in it now, as when summer comes there will be no extra money since I will have to pay for daycare for Tommy and someone to watch Erik as well each day that I need to work.

Tomorrow and Tuesday I am working from home since Erik doesn't have school.   Erik has conferences on Monday night so I will need to go to that.  Once Hubby gets home from work on Tuesday I will head to work to work all evening.   I am glad I can flex my hours, but the long hours are tough on me and I get to spend very little time with Tommy.   That is very hard, but I can't figure a way around it.

I received the Picture Book Preschool curriculm that I order this weekend.  We are looking forward to starting that .  This week we will read books about manners and next week the wind.

    Have a great week!!!

  • Quiet Morning....

Good Morning...It is about 10:30 and Tommy just went out to play with Noah.   They are in the snow fort and having fun.  Hubby is still sleeping so I will do my chores this morning, get my shopping list and library things ready.  Hopefully he will be ready to go early this afternoon.

My kitchen looks like a tornado hit it.   I didn't do dishes last night after we watched out Family Movie.  We had French Dip Sandwhich (my fav!!) and super skins.  It was all very good.   We watched Brother Bear 2.  Tommy headed to bed pretty well and I feel asleep with him.  I was listening to a book on tape on my MP3 player.  I have really gotten out of doing that so I am trying to listen to it more.  I get so bored waiting for Tommy to fall asleep, so this helps.   Some nights he is right to sleep and other nights it takes forever!!!!

Tonight, Hubby and I are going to a play at Lakeshore Players a local playhouse.  It is always a lot of fun.  I am not sure if I will like this one or not, we will see.  Amy is going to watch Tommy for us.

  • Snow, Snow and more Snow......

We are in the middle of a blizzard here in Minnesota.  We already had a good 8 to 10 inches of snow on the ground.  It has been snowing all day and it is expected to receive about 12 more inches before this is done.  We have been out shoveling many times already today.   The nice thing is it is pretty warm to be out shoveling.  It is currently about 32 degrees out!  Anything above 0 is always nice.

Hubby just sent me an email and the college is being closed today at 1:00 and closed all day tomorrow.  Trust me if they are closing school in the city it is bad.  My kids never have had a snow day in the 8 years we have lived here.  We are used to alot of snow.

This morning I saw the weather and decided not to drive into work.  I am grateful to have a job that allows that. I have nearly an hour commute some days.  It would have been way longer today.

Our furnance started making a weird noise so we had a service call to make sure it was ok and that we would have heat all weekend.   Way to cold to be without heat!    Tommy also woke up crying with a sore throat and his ear bugging him.  So good thing I am staying home.   I most likely will be home tomorrow as well.  Next weekend Erik doesn't have school on Monday nor Tuesday so I will need to be home both of those days, but plan to go to the office in the evening after hubby gets home from work.   It is getting harder and harder on my employment to switch this all around, but we don't have any other choice.

Well hubby is home so I am going to go work in our bedroom.  At least I am able to VPN into my work computer to use it.  I should get a few hours in today yet.   Have a great Day!

Our Snowy Front Yard....Not sure you can really see how big the piles are!
