  • What A Day...

I have just been too overwhelmed to even post lately.   I am very busy with work and I have no idea where the summer has gone.   Last weekend we went to the MN State Fair and assisted my Father In Law to buy a new car on Sunday.   I had mowed the lawn on Friday as my hubby had gone out for the evening with friends and it looked like a jungle.   Either mowing the lawn or at the fair I seem to have injured my knee.  Actually more like reinjured it.  I had hurt this knee a few times when I was a teen and played basketball.

Work today was crazy but I was determined to go to the chiropractor since I could hardly walk and my knee really hurt a lot.   After the chiro. took care of my back and neck he looked at my knee.  He determined that there was nothing he could do and he referred me to an orthopedic surgeon.  Oh Joy....like I have time for this!!  But I really do need to be able to walk to work.

I hope to get caught up with all of you soon.  Tomorrow night we have meet the teacher with Tommy's kindergarten teacher.   Friday will be Tommy's last day at daycare.  I know he will miss seeing his auntie every day!!!   Well I best head to bed...I have taken a few pain pills and can't really type to well.

Flower Children - by Maxine Swann - (3/5)

  • FISHED READING:

Well Actually listening to...I have been in the car alot lately for my work so I have been listening to a number of books.

When Madeline Was Young - Jane Hamilton - (4/5)

Interesting story...A man is married and his wife is injured in a biking accident.  She has a serious head injury leaving her cognitively impaired.   He ends up eventually remarrying, but his second wife and him continue to care for his first wife as part of their family.  Interesting how the dynamics of the family changes and how the children understand the situation.

Tommy has his first night of soccer last night!!

First day of kindergarten is coming right up!!

  • Finished Reading:

The God Of Small Things - Arundhati Roy - 4/5

I liked this book, but I always have trouble with books that have alot of flashbacks.  Since I never get a bulk of time to read, it gets confusing picking this book up so infrequently.    The writing was great!!  Great descriptions of India.

  • Proud Momma Momemt....

Well today my oldest, Josh has a meeting at the college.  He has been working there as a student worker as part of his financial aide in the IT department.  Then when his hours ran out and they hired him as a temporary worker.   Well it looks like he will be offered permanent employment.   He is young and I don't know if he realizes what a great opportunity this is for him.  He will get a nearly $5.00 an hour raise and have benefits as a State of MN employee, insurance and retirement, etc.

I  can't tell you how grateful I am his life is turning out so well for him!!  When I was 17, alone and giving birth to him, I could not have imagine a better life for him.   I am so incredibly proud of him.  God has certainly bless him and I.

I hope he realizes that being a full-time State of MN employee at the age of 19 is a huge deal!!  I know it may be hard for him to work full-time and continue in college, but since his job is at the college it is a bit easier.  He is growing up so fast!!!

So say a pray for my boy as he contemplates his first real job of his life.
