  • Goals/Priorities for 2010

    I have been reflecting the last few days on the things I would like to improve in 2010.  I must say I am very content with my life.  Of course, there are always things I would like to improve, but overall I am very blessed.  I wake up each day trying to be a better wife, mother and person.  I was looking back at the previous year’s blogs about goals and can really see all the work I have done.   It feels good to know I am making progress.

    My priorities for 2010 remain the same……God, Husband, Children, Home

    GOD – SPIRITUAL LIFE

    So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

    Isaiah 41:10

    Goal for 2010:   Time Daily with God’s Word / Our Daily Bread – Daily Devotional

    PHYSICAL LIFE  (TAKE CARE OF SELF)

    Medically, I have had a good year, with little illness.  But, honestly this is still the area I need to work on the most in my life.  I rarely take time for myself and I spread myself pretty thin a lot of the time.

    Goals for 2010:

    ·Continue to go to the Community Center 2 – 3 times a week to run

    ·Establish a better sleep pattern – up by 6:30 am each morning/in bed by 10:00.

    ·Take medication daily to maintain health.

    ·Make and Take lunch to work daily

    HOME LIFE  – MARRIAGE, CHILDREN and HOMEMAKING

    This year I am going to focus on maintaining the progress I have made with Homemaking.  I have a good system and routines in place, but I just fall off the wagon far more often than I would like to and find it so discouraging.

    She watches over the ways of her household.- Proverbs 31:27

    Goals for 2010:

    ·Complete Bedtime and Morning Routine Daily

    ·Complete chores daily from the Motivated Moms Planner

    ·Wash dishes every evening.

    Remember: Be generous with praise – cautious with criticism.

    Motherhood is a privilege, and our children our crowning glory. -(1 Timothy 2:15)

    FINANCIAL LIFE- (FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY)

    We have done very well with living within our means in 2009.Christmas was paid for in cash and no debt was accumulated.  I want to continue this journey with a long-term goal of living Debt Free.

    • Continue Weekly Budget and Debt Repayment Program (Debtproofliving.com)
    • Pay extra towards debt each month.

    SOCIAL LIFE (EXTENDED FAMILY/FRIENDS)

    As I think of this area of my life, I know this is an area that I don’t prioritize.  Partly this is due to my personality.  I am more of an introvert and a bit uncomfortable in social settings, so I avoid them.   I just love being at home with hubby and the kids.  Recently, I noticed this same thing with my son.  He would rather be at home hanging out with us, then going out and experiencing new social experiences.  I can SO relate to that!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    That is a run down of my priorities for 2010.  I would not be successful if I was to think I could accomplish goals in every area of my life.  So this year I will focus mostly on my spiritual, physical, financial life and homemaking.  You might think that it would be easier to just make a list of goals.  I think my thinking of each area individually is helpful in really examining what I want to work on.
    What are your goals/priorities for 2010????
    Wishing you much happiness and success in 2010!
    Happy 2010!!!
  • @cherylyn_p - LOL….I know it seems little, but waking up to unwashed dishes really does set the tone for my day.   Then I continue to dread washing them more and more……LOL!!
  • seems like a very complete plan, and thoroughly do-able! have a great one!
  • LOL!!  I wasn’t joking!  I was serious!  The dream of having the dishes washed every night is only that – a dream!  I almost always awaken to “the big pots” in my sink, because I lost steam the night before!!!  Go for it, Jen!
  • @cherylyn_p - You don’t even want to see what my counter looks like right now.  I have a whole day of dishes I have avoided!!  I don’t have a dishwasher so everything must be hand washed and sometimes I just don’t want to do it!  I should be making lunch, but don’t have he room until I do some dishes!  ARGH!
  • Hi! Nice to get to know you through your goals! They seem very good, well balanced and doable.
