  • IS THE WEEKEND HERE YET?????...

Almost the end of my work week here.  And it looks like a promising weekend here in Minnesota.  We are finally seeing the sun!  YEAH!!!!   Maybe I can put on some shorts and get some color.   I stopped going to the tanning booth when I got pregnant so I am very pale!!!!

This weekend is a kid weekend for us.   Paul will be going to pick up Erik for his weekend visitation in a few hours.   They it is rush home and make some supper, take a nap and then I have to go pick up my niece and nephew for the evening.   Nick and Kristen are staying over tonight and will be with us all day tomorrow too.  I hope Kristen is wanting to go out side some.  She is about 1 1/2 years old.  I am truly hoping she will let me sleep in a bit in the morning!!!

We don't have many plans for the weekend, that I am aware of.  We might go to the park or something, we will see.

My pregnancy is going ok.  I saw my allergist yesterday.  He is concerned about my asthma while I am pregnant.   I can take some meds for my asthma, but no medication for my allergies so he said to stay in the house and have the air cleaners running all the time.   ARGH!!!!

My hubby is dyeing to take a picture of my with my little belly, so I am sure you will all soon get to see it.   I never allow any pictures to be taken of me in my first pregnancy, I think I have to allow some this time.

Well, I'm Off.....Hope Everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

  • OTHER UPDATES AND THINGS....

I have been dealing with sinus infections this month.  I have my second one now.  ARGH!!!  I am on antibiotics again and seem to be getting better.   I go to see my allergist on April 26th to see about safe treatment for my asthma during pregnancy, since I have stopped taking my medications since becoming pregnant.

We have bought all the furniture for the nursery.  We found a lovely chest of drawers at Babies R Us that was on clearance.  It has beautiful carved decorations.  We found a changing table at Once Upon a Child (a store that sells used kids items).  We bought a glider and ottoman at a furniture liquidator.  So the only thing we had left to buy is a crib.

We found a crib last Friday at Once Upon a Child for 65.00 that sort a matched our other things.  We are still going to look around for a better one.   We went to an Early ChildHood Family Education rummage sale on Saturday and of course found a crib, much nicer for only 50.00.  So we had to return the first crib, which we did.  Now I have 65.00 of store credit at Once Upon a Child.

I am always a worrier, so I am worried about finances now.  I am unsure that we will be able to afford for my hubby to stay home for one more year.  He might have to get a job as well as attend school.   But I trust that all will be fine, since things always seem to turn out just fine for us.

I hope to type more after our next appointment.  We go to meet our midwife on May 8th for the first time.  yes, we chose a midwife instead of a Dr.  I think this will be a better option for me since I feel like I need a fair amount of support.

  • OUR FIRST OB APPOINTMENT...

We had our first OB and last appointment on APRIL 3rd, with Dr Kopher, the specialist that helped us to conceive.  I still can't believe I am pregnant.   Paul, my hubby went to the appointment with me.  The Dr tried to listen for a heartbeat with the doppler, and couldn't find one.  So he took us down the hall for an internal ultrasound.

We saw our little baby again.  They have doubled in size since our last ultrasound.  This time I could see the heart beating and it brought tears to my eyes.  It is so amazing to see our baby growing in me.

Then we went back to the exam room to finish the examination.   Paul buried his head in his magazine...LOL!!  He is really a wonderfully supportive man.   The Dr told us everything was going very normally and he was discharging us back to our home clinic.

  • THE END OF MONTH THREE.....

Sorry, I haven't posted lately, life has gone and gotten away from me or more accurately I have slept through it.   I still am very tired, but seems to be improving a bit.

So I just completed my 12th week of pregnancy.  What has our baby accomplished in the 12th week???

    WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH OUR BABY
Our baby-to-be is now 60 to 65 millimeters long or about two and a half inches long, and weighs about 14 grams. He or she has the ability to swallow and absorb and discharge fluids. Hands, now complete, are growing fingernails. Even tooth buds are appearing.
Our baby's face now has a distinctly human appearance. The amniotic sac contains about 50 cc of fluid (one and one half ounces). My placenta has taken over the important task of hormone production.
