  • Hello - Been a very busy day!! Tommy woke up the first time at 4:00 am, but went back to sleep. At 6:30 he was up for the day and crying. ARGH!! Very unusual for him. Hubby was up with him and said I could go back to bed. (nice guy) I fall back to sleep only to hear the baby crying again. He was right outside of my bedroom door. I get up to check on him. Daddy had put in a Blue's Clues video and went outside for a smoke. GRRRRRRR... I got up with the baby. I hate when hubby goes outside and leaves him in the living room.

We had planned on going to two garage sales this morning. So since I am up so early I had plenty of time to get ready. Daddy gave Tommy a drink of juice and Tommy started puking up all this mucus. ICKY!!! I think he might have done this in his crib this morning and that is why he is crying. He is gagging on his mucus. I get him changed and cleaned up and we head out to a garage sale. Tommy gags again and I am catching all the mucus in a napkin. Nice, Eh???

We stop at the garage sale, Tommy is excited as he got a little stuffed Dora and Bob The Builder. Also a larger Bob the Builder and Barney that talk. I also picked him up a dress shirt for church and a pair of Pj's.

Then on the way to the second garage sale hubby wants to stop at a church sale. So we do, I pick up two books Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks and Charming Billy by Alice McDermit. The books were only 50 cents so I splurged. I have stop buying book much anymore as I try to use the library as much as possible. Except for I will buy the books for my discussion group, otherwise while they all sit around and read various passages and discussing I have to just sit there.

Finally we get to the last neighborhood sale, some sales were junky. One sale had a lot of good books, but I passed as they were priced between 1-5 dollars. At one sale I did find a nice updated light fixture for the downstairs bathroom - $10.00. I am redoing the bathroom. The last sale we stopped at we bought a new drill for $5.00, a pair of new Tommy Hillfiger windpants - 25 cents and a pair of nike ice skates - $5.00. Also they had a brand new in the box set of speakers, that later my hubby took Joshua back to buy for his stereo system in his room. He is a happy boy about that!

On the way home, Tommy started puking up mucus again...ARGH!! I am not sure what to do about this so I called the nurse line. They weren't much help at all. I did give him some Coca Cola which seems to helped with the mucus and he keeps it down. He is now napping and I did give him some cough and cold medicine. I have the baby monitor on so if he coughs I can go in and sit him up so he doesn't choke.

What a fun day, eh?? I have cleaned up after Tommy at least 10 times.

I best get running before puke monster wakes up. I have to straighten the living and dining room, do dishes before he is up. I could always do a few more loads of laundry. We are going through a lot of towels today! We keep a hand one with us at all times for Tommy.

    *&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&**&*&*&*&*&*&*

Crazymomma - Ok...Noodleless Lasagna, sounds weird, eh?? I am trying to eat a few less carbs so all my lunches for work I try not to have few carbs in them, hence no noodles. I do eat carbs for breakfast and supper. Also Thanks for the congrats on the job for hubby. It certainly is a blessing!

Mrs_Ann_A - Thanks for the congrats on the job! How is that driving going??? I still haven't let my son drive until I see his final grades. He did actually ask one teacher about doing extra credit.

  • Today is a good day.....God sure smiled on us. My hubby was offered a job and will start on Tuesday. This was something we really needed, an answered prayer for sure. He also has another interview on MOnday so actually could be able to chose between two jobs. WOW!!!!! I sure feel like a weight has been lifted off of me. Though the job my hubby was offered isn't exactly what he would like to be doing, it is a start. I hope this is a sign that things will begin to go a bit better for us in that regard.

Tonight Joshua babysat for us and we went to the movie for the first time in the last year. We saw Bruce Almighty. It was very funny. I liked it a lot.

Tomorrow morning we plan on hitting some garage sales. Tommy could use some Pj's and training pants.

I am off to head to bed and read.

  • Yeah....my first night in a week of sleep all through the night. Tommy didn't need to get up last night. I heard him squack at about 6:30, but went back to sleep. I stopped giving him the cough syrup as I think it was making him jittery in addition to the steroids. I think we are on the road to recovery now! Maybe I will be able to get some things done this weekend then.

I need to make some diffiernt lunches to take to work. I will cook up some turkey patties. I also want to make noddleless lasagna. OH...yeah..and cauliflower augratin. Today I jsut threw together a salad for lunch. When I was at the store I found the greatest meat that was cut Julliene for salads. I like that no cutting. Tommy loved it too...he would eat and eat the turkey.
Well I guess I best head to work, the shock of yesterday has worn off. Now maybe I can actually get some work done today. I jsut sat at my desk yesterday going, I can't believe this......LOL!!!

I have an IEP meeting with two different school districts today that I want to have the child attend school in the district other than the one he lives in. They just have a better autism program by far.

Today I will hopefully make it to buy my paint for the downstairs bathroom. Later!!!!!

  • I have returned to work.  All I have to say is you can't imagine how much can happen in 6 days off of work.  OH MY WORD!!!!   I am still in shock.

Hope all your days are going well!

  • OH MAN...where has this vacation gone!!!!! Argh..I did not get nearly as much as I wanted. Luckily I did complete my bedroom at least. I did that on Friday. Saturday it was difficult to do much, I did do a lot of laundry, but Tommy was not feeling well.

Sunday was church and taking care of Tommy. Monday I was able to pay bills while Tommy was napping. Otherwise I walked around like a zombie since I didn't sleep much at night since Tommy would wake up crying.

Tuesday was our anniverary. We had to go to Erik's IEP meeting at 8:00 am ARGH!! Then we had to race to daycare pick up Tommy and take him to the clinic to have his cough checked. He has croup and a beginings of a ear infection. So the Dr. gave him steroids (2 doses) and antibiotics for 10- days. I am to bring him back in two weeks.
Tommy falls asleep on the way home and I keep him home for the day, which equals not getting much done. The steroids made him a crazy crazy baby. He was very hyper and would bite me and jump on me after the first dose. The second dose was due at bedtime. ARGH!! I gave him the meds and he went to sleep fine, at about 11:00 he was up and CRAZY!! We put him in bed with us, but he was jumping on our heads and jsut twitching so much, climbing off the bed. Eventually we had to put him in his crib for his safety as we were starting to fall asleep and he was still so hyper. ARGH!!!
He must have eventually fallen asleep. He didn't cry, but was jumping around in his bed. He woke up around 8:00 and had breakfast and went to daycare today.
I was determined to get the laminate put on the counter in the downstairs bathroom. it took all day, but that is done and the sink is back in place, with a new faucet as well.
This weekend I plan on painting the bathroom and putting together the shelf.
So tomorrow i return to work and then work Friday too and off again!! Yeah!! I hope to get more stuff done this weekend since I should be getting some sleep now that Tommy is feeling better. When he is sick he wants NOTHING to do with Daddy...only Mommy 24 hours a day! Good thing Mommy was on vacation or she would have died from the lack of sleep!

  • Tommy still isn't feeling well.  He fell asleep in his highchair while I was making his lunch.   So he is in bed and will eat when he gets up.   He woke up crying in the middle of the night again last night.  Man is my vacation exhausting!!!   We will just stay around home today and tomorrow and hope he is feeling better soon.

Erik is doing fine.  He had to scrub his legs as he thought it would be fun to write with a marker on his legs last night.   ARGH!!  Sometimes you can't figure out what is going on in the kids head.  He was bored ....  ok....room full of toys....I will write all over my legs and arms.  Mom will jsut love that in the morning when we need to get ready for church.  ARGH!!

I suppose I should go conquer some laundry and do lunch dishes.   I won't have much time to do much else but hold Tommy once he wakes up.  My poor baby..........

Maybe I will even be able to exercise this afternoon if Tommy sleeps long enough or take a nap myself??  Hmmmmmmm......

  • I have been starting to slowly work out again.  I am taking it slow due to the asthma issues, but need to increase my endurance so I am not out of breathe so easily.   I had hoped to use my treadmill most days, but did actually use it three times this week.  I also went back to my previous stretches and stuff as well.  My goal for this month is get back to running/walking a mile.  I am almost there, by the end of next month I hope to be at 2 miles a day.  I wish I was a morning person so I could run/walk in the morning.

I didn't get much of the living room done today.  I did use Murphy oil soap on the floor and move furniture.  Then Tommy woke up and we went outside for a while.  We watched his Wiggles Movie from the library and had supper.   After supper we went to the park and stopped at the gas station for a ice cream treat.  Then it was bath time!!!

Bath and ready for bed!!   I did my workout after Tommy went to bed.  Hubby is making some marinated chicken wings.  They smell great!

I am off to take a shower.....switch laundry around and crawl in bed and read.  Have a great night!!!  Chat at you tomorrow!!

  • My bedroom is done..........YEAH!!  I didn't get to Tom's room yesterday and he is sleeping now.  I might have to save that for a day he is at daycare, either tuesday or wednesday.

Today I was planning on cleanign the living room.  I might try and mop the floor while Tommy is in bed, but then I am going to take a nap myself.  Tommy was up for a while with his nasty cough during the night.  I had a hard time falling back to sleep.  And I couldn't sleep in in the morning as Tommy was in his crib yelling Dad, Dad, Dad, but Dad was on the computer and wasn't getting up to see to Tom.  So I was awake again.......GRRRRRRRRRRR.

Now, Josh has gone to his dad's for the weekend.  Erik is going to a birthday party.  Hubby is helping the neighbor finish up his fence before their pool is delivered.  Tommy is napping.  AAAAH...a quiet afternoon.   I am off to mop the living room and then taking a nap.  Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

  • Happy First Day of SRPING CLEANING!!!

I have my bedroom all ripped apart.  I have gone through my drawer, cleaned the windows and have the curtains and bedding in the wash.  I still have to go through the courner of hidden junk and my closet.  Then I will finally get my spring and summer clothes out.  I doubt I will get to Tom's bedroom today too...but I will try.

Tomorrow is another day.  I want to get some reading time in too!!!   This morning we went to 1/2 books and I bought the next 4 books for my book group.   They are having a 20% off sale all weekend.   YEAH!!  But I was good, I only bought the books I needed.  Hubby went with and bought a few things as well.  OH well.....

    I bought the following books:

    The Cape Ann- Faith Sullivan
Emress of One - Faith Sullivan
    * Faith Sullivan is from Minneapolis and is going to be at another book groups meeting to chat about her book.  We are trying to get out group invited as well!
    Dress Lodger - Sheri Holman
The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio - Terry Ryan

Loopdeloup - The book my group discussed last night was:  Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty.  I am not going to recommend it to you...*smirk.  It required too much thinking to keep all the characters straight!

Mrs_Ann_A - today Josh is taking his Permit test.  We will have a driver to teach in a few hours!!     YIKES!!!  Congrats on the weight lose.  I hope to be exercise each day during my vacation, but I could never do one to two hours a day!!!

Frejaluna - Great to see your comments!  I am still waking to hear about all your great finds at the Garage Sales in Red Wing.  I was actually in Red Wing the Friday at a meeting at Vasa Children's Home, but left right after the meeting!   But thought of you finding your bargains!
