Month: September 2003

  • Hubby was at a church meeting this evening. The boys and were home. After Tommy headed to bed I went down to work on putting the laundry room back together for about 1-1/2 hours. I am about 1/3 done. I will have to work on it over the weekend to finish.

I took off of work today at noon. I really needed to buy pants for work. I HATE SHOPPING!!! My hubby says I not a normal woman as I absolutely hate shopping. I like to grab what I want and get out. I can never do that with pants. I had to try on a million different styles. Oh yeah...and I am very very picky. I ended up buy two dress pants for work. One pair of Lands End Chinos and a pair from Christopher Banks. I am not in love with either pair. I also bought one pair of jeans. Mine all have holes in the butt. LOL!! Did I mention I am so cheap I wear my clothes until hubby say...YOU CAN"T WEAR THAT ANYMORE! LOL!! I bought one pair of Calvin Klein Jena I liked alot....almost loved! I have to wear them a few times and if I begin to love them I might get one more pair.

I wandered around Pier One my favorite store!! I bought a votive vine to go with the picture my mom made us. Very cool.

I found Tommy a pair of Skeecher tennis shoes that light up originally 36.00 marked down to 10.00. He needed a new pair so that was cool. Did I mention I rarely ever pay full price for anything. It will never matter how comfortable finacially we are, I will always be like this. I find it to be soo much fun. I bought Tommy one new outfit for his birthday. I also got him two wooden knob puzzles for Grandma to give him for his birthday. I do her shopping for her as it is too hard for her to go out anymore.

I think that is it...I am off to watch a bit of TV and then head to bed. Have a great night!

  • YEAH...THURSDAY. Last night Families First wasn't too bad, but there are very few returning members and no new members. After class it was Tommy's bath and getting him ready for bed. We didn't get home until 8:00 which is his bedtime. Josh taught confirmation last night for the frist night.

I was able to do a load of laundry last night and hubby did the dishes for me. I can't wait until someday way in the future we can remodel our kitchen and have a dish washer. That sure would be nice. I should have enough money saved up by the end of next month to buy a new dryer. I look forward to that. I should be able to do it if nothing breaks with the van or car, etc. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Tonight hubby has a meeting at church so he will be gone. I guess I will be home with Tommy and Josh. I best go figure out what meat to thaw for supper. Have a great day!

  • I don't know what is up with the other social worker hat had this case.  I met my new client today and she was very nice.  I look forward to working with her and her children.

CRAZYMOMMA - your right about being a social worker.  It is great to help people, the pay is LOW.   there are budget cuts at my place of work, I do work in county government as for as lay offs it is more stable than the private industry, but the pay is less.

But my employer allows me a lot of flexiblity, which I couldn't find elsewhere.   But we are a bit over worked....my caseload is one of the highest in our section and only growing.

  • Today should be an interesting day. I am off to meet a new client. They live in a less than desirable area of town and have suspected drug activity in there home. All in a days work!

Yep, they certainly don't pay me enough for what I have to do on a day basis. You know your job could be dangerous when they give you classes on how to stay safe in the field. LOL!! Always sit by the door and don't let anyone sit or stand between you and the door.

The funny part is they pay us Social workers an extra 75 cents an hour for hazzard pay. Sort of a joke. LOL!! The extra 75 cents might be ok for the garbage house, etc...but if it is a dangerous situation...I think not!

  • Busy, Busy....worked all day. Came home and made supper. Then it was time to hang out with Tommy. Hubby took the oldest out driving. Once hubby returned, I left Tommy with him and went to get groceries. I did pretty good, even though I bought the extras hubby wanted. I spent 68.00 for the week of groceries. I will be good until next week Tuesday when it is grocery day again.

Groceries are mostly put away. Hubby finished putting up the last of my shelves down stairs. This weekend that is my chore to get the laundry room all put back in order.

Well I am off to bed...
Here is our menu for the week.

  • WisconsinMOM - The cake was made by a local bakery called Grandma's Bakery.  All I had to give them a picture of Josh and they scanned it onto a cake.  It was very fun!

  • Off to bed...still feel very tired! NIGHT...I have to be at work early tomorrow as it is court day. GRRRRRR....I hate going to court, but it is part of the job.

  • I made it through the picnic. It was fun actually. I even won a great door prize. A bat autographed by Torii Hunter of the MN Twins. Many of my co-wrkers wanted it. My hubby is very happy to have the bat.

Hubby is out driving with Josh so I think I will get Tom in his pj's and go for a walk. Then it is off to bed for both of us. YAWN!!!! Too much sun today, gave me a headache.

  • I have to scoot and shower.   Julie is coming over at 10:00 to watch Tommy.  Hubby, the older two boys and I are going to my company picnic.   It is lunch with the MN Twins and then great seats for the baseball game.  Should be fun, enough though I am not a huge baseball fan.  The guys will enjoy it a lot!
