Month: October 2004

  • Ok...I finally joined you all and made a counter for Tommy.  You will not make me like blinkies!!  ROFL!

  • NEW PHOTOS

This one will probably be our Christmas cards this year.

    Our Family - 2004

What was I thinking?   I got my bangs put back in the day after I saw the pictures.  I need bangs.  Yeah..only took me three months to grow them out.

I had to laugh because Laura Barkstone's blog about pictures could have been written by me.   You would not believe how much time and effort I take to pick out the matching shirts for our yearly pictures.

  • OK...impossible to get a nap with Erik here.  He woke Tommy up once already but I got him back to sleep.  I think he needs to nap with his cold he has.   I guess I will jsut get my cleaning done instead.

  • Well I decided I might wait and get some groceries on the way home from work on Monday.  I could stop at Aldi then, which is great on the budget!    I have supper for tonight and tomorrow all covered already.  I had two chicken breasts left over from supper last night so I will make Chicken Tetrazini and Sunday or this evening I will be making a Turkey.  So I will have a turkey meal out of that, use the carcass to make soup and make either TUrkey Tetrazini or Turkey Ala King out of the rest...or Turkey Pot Pie,   Turkey Divan ,I have a few options.   So that will cover alot of meals.

I love being able to feed our family so frugally.   A lot of the time I don't even spend the entire $150.00 I budget for two weeks of food.   But it takes time to cook all the meals.  But I do enjoy it!   To me it is a game.....we never use credit except for car repairs so you get very good at only spending on what you need.

I will have to make a grocery list for the food for the parites though.

So far I am doing a harvest/fall theme for book group...we are having...

    Artichoke/Spinach Dip
    Carmel Dip with fruit
    Hot Apple Cider
    Ribbon Pumpkin Bread
    Caramel Apple Pie

  • Argh not a good nights sleep last night.  Tommy was running around crazy again.  I finally got him to sleep for the night at 12:30. It was so hard keep him quiet so hubby could sleep.  THen I am not sure it is was the predisone or not, but I could not sleep.  I jsut layed there and layed there.   I was still awake at 1:30 and didn't get much sleep.   Tonight if I can't sleep I am going to get up and do something instead of just laying there.

Time to get this day going.......off to shower and dress Tommy...Josh is gone at work again today, 3:00 to 9:00.    I will have to sit down and do coupons and grocery/menu before shopping this week.  This pay period house payment and child support are due so it is very tight.  I will have to stay within our food budget but we have a number of parties too!  That means hubby can't go shopping with me.

  • Well it is 10:00...hubby is in bed since he has to get up at 4:00am for work.  Tommy is jumping over his gate and I am ignoring him hoping this game gets old soon.  Josh, Amy and Erik are downstairs watching TV.   I just finished pulling out all the staples from another of my dining room chairs.  I will reupholster it tomorrow during nap time.   I might even pull the staples out of another tomorrow.  Erik helped take the staples out for a while, but got tuckered out.

Josh was at church tonight at the confirmation supper for his gf Amy.  Then they came back here to have a turtle custard cake from Culvers with us to celebrate Josh's new job.  We celebrate many things at our house...I want my children to know I am proud of them.   I will often write them notes and cards to tell them so.

The rest of the evening I think I will wash dishes and pay bills.  then I am going to curl up on the couch and read my book for book group.   I need to finish it!   I enjoy it when everyone goes to bed because than I can turn off all the junk.....TV, etc and enjoy some peace.   Drives the kids nuts...because when hubby is at work tomorrow all day I will not ever turn the TV on in the living room.   I just enjoy the quiet so much more.   They can watch downstairs if they must.    Tommy and I play and read books instead of watching TV.  Once Daddy gets home the tv is on again for the rest of the day and night.

Well off to do a few things before reading....Later!

  • Ran a couple of errands and picked up the boys at daycare.   Then it was home to start supper and make the invites for Tommy's Birthday party with his friends.  Erik wants to come to his party next week so I told him to ask his mother.  It is very hard for him when he misses out on things like his baby brothers birthday.   I feel sorry for him.   I was going to do his party this weekend so Erik would be here, but since I was so sick I jsut couldn't and he postponed it to next weekend.  My parents are also coming to celebrate with us next week.

Next week is a crazy week of parties starting Thursday.........

    WED - Church
THURS - Book Group at my house
FRI - Tommy's Party with friends
SAT - Tommy's Family Birthday Party
SUN - Halleliah Party at Church and Halloween

So Erik sees our calendar packed with parties he is missing and it makes him sad.   We do try to always plan major things when he is here....it jsut didn't work out this time.  Tommy and I both have been sick.

  • I have my 40 hours in...so I am off to run errands and pick up the kids.  Later!  Let the Weekend Begin!!!!!!  Hey...and it is payday!  Yeah!  Only means I have to pay bills tonight, but at least I can pay them!

  • Just finally mailed out my October Brithday cards over my lunch break.....sorry family, I am late!
