  • Another Bites the Dust.............

I am home again with sick kids (yep plural).   This morning I started waking around 6:00 and Tommy was snuggled up to me and seemed warm.  We took his temp and it was about 102.  So no school or dayare for him.   I gave him some tylenol and he then said "My tummy hurts and I need a bucket".   He vomitted and then laid back down.   I am very lucky Tommy doesn't get that worked up about being sick.   So he was fine after that.  We snuggled in bed and watched TV until about 8:30.   Tommy is very upset about not being able to go to school today.  They were putting on a little show for the parents today.  It was a circus and he was a clown.  Luckily I bought tickets to the circus for when we get back from Florida, so that seemed to make things better for him.   He is convinced that since his headache and vomitting is done he can go to school.   Hard to understand when your only 4.

Erik was up a bit last night complaining about his throat to the extent he was in tears.  I had him gargle with salt water and everything else I knew for sore throats.  So I am taking them both to the Dr today.  I need to make sure they aren't really sick before we head to Florida.   Tommy has had double ear infections in the past and since he doesnt' complain you don't know until they nearly burst.  That would not be good on a plane!!!  Tommy was exposed to strep again last week since my daycare provider had it.  So need to get that checked out again!

Today I will be wiping down door knobs, handles and light switches with lysol to make sure we get rid of the virus in the house.   I am off to get Tommy dressed and ready to go to the Dr.

  • Taking a little break from getting things done around the house.   I tidied up a few rooms, bathroom, our room, office, Tom's room and kitchen.  I still have a few rooms to go, but wanted to break for a bit.   Erik seems to be better now and is playing jenga on the table so he will be going back to school tomorrow.  Since hewas home it was a great opportunity to have him try on swimming trunks and shorts to pack for our Florida Trip.    Good thing I have bins of clothes I bought on clearance last year all ready for him.   I don't have as many shorts for Tommy for some reason.  He moved up a size too!  I did find a pair of swin trunks for Tommy downstairs that I bought on clearance at Old Navy.   He is pretty set.  I just have to try on his shorts that I packed to make sure they fit!

I think the kids are starting to get excited as we start to pack.    We decided to buy 5 day hopper passes for Disney and will be going to the Gulf and to Ft Meyers for a BBQ at a friends house.   Nice to have friends to hang out with in Florida too!!  Actually we will be getting together with 3 families of folks!!  We hope to go see Sanibel Island since that is where we went on our honeymoon.

My breathing is gettng worse, I think it is due to Erik's cough.  Must be viral.  ARGH....I called the pulmonologist and she bumped up my predisone for a week and then back down.  That should get me through my vacation.

At 6:00 I am going to go weigh in at weight watchers.  I missed mine at work again since I was home with Erik.  I am pretty sure I gained....

Tomorrow - Tommy has a little program at preschool that I will be attending.  They are putting on a circus.  Then I have to drive to Duluth for a visit with a client.  YUCK!   I am so not looking forward to that.  Well I am off to clean up the living room and then watch Dr Phil.  Have a great day.

  • Unexpected Day at Home.......

Erik is home sick today, so I am home.   I hope to get alot of things done around the house since this weekend we had to run so many errands.

I did finish a book on tape last night.....very good...I had to finish it!

    Puppet - Joy Feilding - (4.5/5)

Hubby and I got groceries for the next week and spent less than $40.00 for the week.  That was very good!!!

TUESDAY - Little Chicks/Tater Tots and Veggie

    WEDNESDAY - CHURCH

    THURSDAY - Lasagna/ Bread Sticks

    FRIDAY - Peppy Pizza Pasta / Salad/Bread

    SUNDAY - FLORIDA

  • BUSY,BUSY, BUSY.....

We were out and did alot of shopping today.  Definitely not my favorite thing to do!  But had to be done.  First stop was CVS Drugs to pick up everyones perscriptions.   Hubby needed to start his antibiotics and pain pills for his tooth.

Next Stop.....the library.  The funny thing is the drug store and the library are two of the places in town where I am known by name..LOL!!   Guess you know where I spend my time and money!  We rented a few movies from the library and I got a couple more books on cd to put on my MP3 player.

Then we headed to the bread thrift store.   Then off to Toys R Us to buy a bigger bike for Tommy.  They had a 16 inch on sale for $30.00.    He really likes it!   Then we went shopping for luggage.  OH MY was that an event.  I have never looked at so much luggage in my life.  If you have a trip coming up it is the time to buy luggage.   Both JCPenny, and Kohls had 50% off.   We looked at alot and ended up with a great deal!  You know me and the deals!!!   I will track them down!   We found a 6 piece set of luggage on clearance, normally $300.00, marked down to 99.99 and then we had a $20.00 off coupon.   So we bought two sets.  So we got $600.00 of luggage for $160.00.   Great deal!!  They are all wheeled, which will make it easier to get through the airports!

Then we went to Target and got a few things we needed, cleaning supplie and light bulbs.   Nothing too exciting!  Unfortunately Tommy fell asleep on the way home and slept until after 8:00.  ARGH!!!   He is wide awake now and I am ready to go to sleep.  Not a good thing!

I should still make my menu and shopping list, but I spent a lot of the evening listening to my book on tape and talked to my bro on the phone.  I do need to get groceries sometime tomorrow!

TOMORROW -  We have church in the morning and then I would like to go to Barnes and Noble to see Jodi Picoult an author I really enjoy.  I also need to find our summer clothes and start packing and get groceries.  Looks like another busy day!

  • Hubby had a severe tooth ache - just called for emergency dental service this weeekend.  ARGH!!  Better this happen now than in Florida when we are there for a week on vacation.

Dentist called in some antibiotics and pain meds to get hubby through until Monday!  YEAH!

  • WEEKEND IS HERE.....YEAH!

So glad the weekend is here....I have a lot to do this weekend to get ready for leaving next weekend for Florida.  Next week I am at the MSSA (MN Social Services Assoc) Conference Wed -Friday.  Then Sunday we leave for Florida.

Josh and Amy at Red Lobster for their Anniversary.  Amy's mom decorated.

Tommy at Matt's Birthday Party on Wednesday.  This big slide was his favorite!

Opening presents at the party.  Tommy is next to the lady in dark shirt.  He is wearing a tan henley.   Next to him is the birthday boy, Matt.

Thursday - Chore night.  Tommy wants so badly to do chores and get allowance like the older two boys.  So I told him he could have 2 quarters for helping Momma with her chores.  He said "No I want 5 pennies!!"  Ok, five pennies it is!  He mopped the kitchen and both bathrooms.  I tried to do it over after him, but he really didn't like that.

    Still Enjoying......

  • Hello - Not much to blog about again.  I am just in a mood I guess and busy.   I am at the library right now in between homevisits.  I stop at the libraries in our county to check my work email in between visits to see if anything needs my attention.   I will not be going to my office at all today.  It is about 12:30 and I have two more homevisits yet today.

I have really been enjoying the Book on Tape I am listening to...Puppet by Joy Fielding.   I have listened to alot of it today as I drive.  Next week I am driving to Duluth for work so will be able to listen to more!

Nothing much planned for the weekend.  I need to start planning for our trip to Florida on the 26th.  I need to get our summer clothes out and make sure we have things that fit.

I have tried a few new recipes this week and will share them hopefully this weekend.  Have a great weekend!!

BTW - This is a medical update for my Mom!  Sorry I haven't called, but I saw the OB and he checked the results of my x-rays and they don't think my back is fractured.  They did discover that I have kidney stone.  Yeah...just another added bonus to discover I guess.   I switched to birth control that has estrogen to help build my bones.  hmmm...I think that is all that is new lately.   The OB did say my hips have very severe osteoporosis and I really need to watch that I don't fall as I will break my hip.  That has been interesting considering out icy it has been this week.  You would think I was 100 years old.

  • ANOTHER BOOK ON TAPE FINISHED.....

Last night hubby and Tommy both fell asleep around 9:00 or so.  I didn't want to turn on the light to read so I listened to my book on tape on my MP3 player.  I love that thing!!

    Christmas Train - David Baldacci - 4/5

Interesting....I have never traveled on a train but after this book it sounded like fun!  Maybe some day I will take a train trip!

Next Book on Tape...... (pretty good so far!)

  • A LITTLE HAPPINESS.....

Still not much into blogging ...but had to share my weigh in amounts.  I weighed in today since my at work was closed on Monday due to severe weather.  I really need to weigh in each week to stay on track.  I lost 2.4 pounds this week.   YEAH!!!

ONLY 3.6 MORE POUNDS TO MY WW GOAL.

I do hope to lose a bit more beyond that but will be able to be lifetime after maintaining goal for at least 6 weeks.  I weigh in again at work on Monday.   Would be nice to be at goal by the time we go to Florida at the end of the month.   But I am sure I will gain alot down there eating out everyday!

    Finished another Book:

Miss Julia Takes Over by Ann B. Ross - 4/5

I just love the character Miss Julia..and what a character she is!   This is the second book I have read in this series.   They are enjoyable.....

    I am now starting.....

  • Here and reading.....but don't feel like blogging....maybe later.
